I had an orthodontic emergency where my permanent retainer broke, and there was exposed sharp metal in my mouth. I was not originally a patient with Chan & Chen Orthodontics but they still took me right away. I called many other orthodontics offices, and nobody else could take me that day. It was the Friday before a 3 day weekend, and I was very scared I'd have to go the whole weekend with the sharp metal in my mouth. Chan & Chen Orthodontics fixed my permanent retainer quickly and did a great job, for a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this business.

Mary, the hygienist in New London clearly doesn't like kids. she's been nasty to my son with special needs every time he's been there! The front office isn't much better. We got a bill for 7k$ to fix his fillings. I asked if we could do a payment plan. "Absolutely not they said!" I said "if i can't Pay up front, what do I do to take care of my son", who is in pain mind you. They said "arrange payment and come back then". All they care about is money, not kids! If you have a child with special needs, stay away from this place!

I left an (admittedly) angry message to try to clarify the intended message behind the last sentence. After additional reflection I called back and left another message to say we are just going to find another provider. My son was referred to you because of behavioral issues he demonstrated at his last dentist appointment where he was combative and they couldn't get him even into the exam area. I called y'all to ask before his first appointment to see if you had some kind of plan for him - nope. I asked if y'all had any other unique practices for special needs kids - nope. "We deal with them all the time." Oh, great. I'm glad you "deal" with them. Rather than waste everyone's time with a massive meltdown that would have caused EVERYONE stress (including the "many children waiting to be seen") - we rescheduled and arranged for the behavioral therapist to come along with us. Fast forward to the day of the second appointment - My husband and the behaviorist spent *forever* trying to get our son to the appointment, lots of blood/sweat/tears and just as he was about to admit defeat and call you - the practice called him. The appointment was rescheduled again. Does the tone of this letter match those events, to you? They haven't even experienced my son's challenges... because try as we might we can't get him in the car after the episode at his last dentist....and you're *already* this rude and discompassionate...? Forget it. I guess their "specialized" pediatric practice does not include special needs families. I wish we were never referred to this place!

Demanding that I pay for this 'missed' appointment. I have called several times and explained I never booked it, and that they are harassing me at this point. I was so worried about money and my teeth moving back and that it would hurt to remove and the whole team was so incredibly kind to me. I worked with Courtney and Dr. Konstantinos. He and his staff are warm, caring, and professional. I appreciate that he does an excellent job of communicating with MY office before, during, and after treatment and will always coordinate as needed if we need to do any treatment during the patient's time in braces, they are great with that as well. I can't pretend to understand this platform's algorithm for allowed/featured and "not recommended" reviews. It sure can seem arbitrary and when you ask service reps apparently no one knows how this secret sauce works... it just happens! That said, I am perplexed that this office has only 5 featured write ups but 19 that fall under "not recommended." Seems strange. One of those unfeatured posters tho suggested that the doctor was trying to just get more money out of the reviewer's son. I can say without question that that is NOT how Dr Lenk does business! I have seen him time and again reduce fees and no-charge certain services to help out patients in need. He has historically been very generous seeing kids with NH Medicaid. 60% of the state's dentists do NOT see those patients because the low reimbursement rates result in the practice often taking a loss. So while that unfair accusation was buried in "not recommended" section (along with a dozen good looking reviews!) I couldn't stand by without speaking up in defense of Lenk Orthodontics. Stephanie spoke with us for about 15 minutes and conducted some x rays and spoke about a plan for her teeth. She was very nice, helpful and professional. Dr. Lenk then entered the room and started his presentation. He got off track a bit about 10 minutes into the conversation. I then asked a couple questions to get him back on track and he then abruptly stated "It was too hot in the room, I was too aggressive and asked us to leave ". The other four of us in the room looked at each other awkwardly as he exited the room. Stephanie, his assistant said " I'm not sure what just happened". My daughter thought he was joking. He then poked his head back in the exam room and said, " Leave now". Needless to say, Dr. Lenk was extremely unprofessional and couldn't handle a couple normal questions from a seated position, not loud or out of line any parent would ask. There was zero aggression directed toward him. We left like normal, adults without a scene and upset we wasted out time with such an unprofessional person.
