Delish, crisp and fruity sauvy-b, super knowledgeable and friendly staff, nice outdoor area with a heater for people watching, clean bathroom, comfy chairs and warm welcoming interior. Definitely will come back soon!

Great wine and very knowledgeable staff. Tasting room has great memories of Dick Vermils life, photos, newspaper articles etc. Really close to downtown Napa. Open late till 10 pm

Wine and chocolate pairing flight

Absolutely amazing! Went with my husband and in laws, we walked in and immediately got seated in comfy leather chairs around a glass table. We were able to chat with one of the servers(unfortunately I can't remember his name) but he gave us the history of how the business got started generations back of growing grapes. He related to my husband and father in law in the military(gave us the military discount which is always a perk). We got the chocolate paired flight for $50 each, really good price in my opinion for the quality of the wine and chocolates! It wasn't too loud and overwhelming like a lot of the other wine tasting places we walked by, great for when you want to just enjoy the wine, history, and conversation with your group. Also my husband and I found our new favorite bottle of wine for our celebrations, their 2022 Chardonnay!

Overall a great wine tasting. Staff was knowledgeable about wines and knows Coach. One star drop for not changing glasses between varietals, poured all in same glass. Just rolled with it. Very comfortable bar, couches and outside seating area.

This place was nice. The guy that helped was very informative going over the history of the retired football coach's history and reason behind opening this establishment. Would definitely go back.

Located right at the heart of downtown (& conveniently next to Starbucks) Vermeil Wines tasting room has something everyone likes. Outdoor seating, indoor seating, restrooms & a bar. Lovely hosts & tv's & of course some snacks. A little on the pricey end but hey, that's Downtown Napa for you. Enjoy people watching on the outdoor seating & share a bottle of wine with some of your new friends. Kid friendly & clean. I always walk pass this place whenever I'm downtown but actually went in for some wine with a friend. Bought a bottle that wasn't released by Vermeil yet but somewhat worth it. Could've used a good two more months but we really wanted to try the charbono. Would I personally come back? Probably not but nonetheless, a good place to stop by, enjoy a glass or two, & people watch.

The wines were actually really great! My boyfriend and I shared the chocolate wine pairing ($35/flight) and the Chardonnay really stood out well to me, the Port was also pretty good! I only say that the service is not what I expected, I had so many questions and really wanted to learn more about the label, but we walked in, drank and left... that's all. We may be back just be able to learn more about the business because I really did appreciate the wine. Maybe we caught the wine educator on a bad day ‍ I recommend the chocolate pairing if you come by, the chard was paired with a coconut chocolate and I actually really liked it. If I buy a bottle next time, I would probably stop by See's Candy after

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Don is the best! Thank you for making my bday fun!

One of my first wine tasting in downtown Napa when I went this past weekend. The guys there are pretty cool and gave us great hospitality. The place is setup nice with outdoor seating and inside couches and a lounge. I had the chocolate pairing which was good and the servers did a great job for explaining the wines and the proper way to go with the pairings.

We only visited this spot for a short time, but it was a great experience nonetheless. $30-something for a bottle of Sauv Blanc; can't beat that. There is a perfect little outdoor patio section with couches and lots of sunshine that we took full advantage of. The inside decor is sleek and modern. I can imagine this would be perfect for a date! We found out here from our nice bartender that if you don't finish the bottle you can always take them to go anywhere in the area. Very nice!

Since this was our last stop of the day, we went with one glass of the Brut ($16) each to toast the birthday girl, the Caviar Flight that includes three 0.5 ounce jars of caviar, potato chips, toast points, Carr crackers, small bowl of crème fraiche and lemon wedges, and tried the salmon gougeres. While they had good flavor, they were on the drier side. We easily hit our minimum spend with the selection and enjoyed the French opulence, along with the cute goods for purchase on the way out. They also added 18% automatically for our party of 6 to the final bill. Great for pictures, although we got rained in. Still a good stop for sparkling wine lovers.

Everyone having wine chose the Signature Flight, which included one white and three reds. I appreciated the option to substitute a Sauvignon Blanc for the Chardonnay, a nice personal touch. Each wine was distinctive, balanced, and delicious in its own way. You could really tell the care and craftsmanship behind every pour. What really stood out was the hospitality. Our host was not only incredibly thoughtful but impressively knowledgeable. She explained where each wine's grapes were grown, described the flavor profiles we could expect, and added insights into how the terroir influenced the wine -- all without it ever feeling too technical or over our heads. Even better, our designated driver was offered iced tea, lemonade, or an Arnold Palmer, which I really appreciated. It's always a plus when tasting rooms consider the full group's experience, not just the drinkers. The vibe was so warm and relaxing, we ended up staying for over two hours. It felt less like a stop and more like a true experience. Definitely one of the highlights of our time in downtown Napa.

Quality/Quantity - I had a hard time with the website making my appointment, it's a user issue as I am just not tech savvy. So I called and someone actually answered the phone and made my appointment for me, THANK you! We arrived 15 mins early, so we hung out in the lobby reading all the history, etc. Then Skip took us to the best view overlooking the vineyard for our tasting; see pictures! We sampled almost ALL the reds! All of which were good. See pictures. I like the fact that we did side by side tastings of many of his wines. My favorites were the 2022 Primitivo and 2021 Malbec, which we bought a few bottles of. Ambiance - Secluded private winery. Close to main Downtown Napa, but far enough away for privacy and a feeling of being far away. Appointment only, so very private and customer focused. Typically no more than 3 parties at a time. Today was considered a very busy day as there were 4 parties including us, lol. Gated private estate. 200 acres. Plenty of parking, especially since hosting only 3 guests at a time. Events - See their website. Well behaved dogs are allowed outdoors. Service - Skip is a history buff and we both talked for hours... After leaving, well really the next day (LOL), I realized that our tasting was supposed to be only 60 minutes. I guess because we got along so well, we stayed until closing! And he gave me a glass with a generous splash and let us walk the property alone after they left! So welcoming and trusting. Price - Depends on which tasting and what you buy; see their website for prices. Tastings range from $50 to $100 per person. One free designated driver allowed. Tasting fees waived with wine equivalent purchases. Hike tours $75 per person ($60 for club members). See their website for more information. Owner Comment - Congrats on your family's success since 1939 and congrats to this winery's success since 1992.

After we finished eating, I frantically researched (read: checked Yelp) for a winery to visit. Housley seemed to fit the bill--good reviews, dog-friendly (we had her dog with us), and what seemed to be a reasonable tasting price. We get there and we realize it's owned by Tamera Mowry (who is now Mowry-Housley!) There's a picture of her and her husband (a former baseball player) in the window. We're sort-of starstruck. Shortly after, her husband (and the winery's owner) Adam walks up with their daughter and asks us how we're doing. We continue to be starstruck. Service was wonderful. Seating was comfy. The views weren't the best (we were drinking on the sidewalk and there's a parklet too.) The 5 wines for $29 was not bad, but the size of the pours was lacking. The first pour was the smallest and then slowly they seemed to give us more (maybe they heard me!) Honestly, the pricier wines tasted better. I wish our wine tasting could've been free if we bought two bottles or something--I would've done that! Cute merch and store with goodies inside. Bathroom is clean. Would be back!
