Store was busy but I stood there for over 5 minutes and was not acknowledged. I left.

warning - this store takes advantage of the elderly. do not shop here. they took advantage of an elder family member and wiped her account. when you go in due to a battery on a phone not holding enough charge and then get billed 2400 for two phones and apple watch setup fees etc which none of this was asked for, then we have a problem. an employee telling the customer you need this and this wont be charged due to deals and do you want an apple watch too as we can get that free for you. an 85 year old women did not ask for or need any of this, but due to sly sales people they take advantage of the older people whom do not know what they need and lack any compassion of actually doing their job and instead all they care about is the money they can swindle from the elders in the area. they decieve you with a large verizon sign and they are not affiliated with them at all. just a shady company that puts verizon on the outside of the building and people dont know its not an actual verizon store. we are in the process of reporting this company for elderly abuse and have contacted a lawyer to deal with this as others have been impacted too per the actual verizon store down the road. when the verizon store nearby is telling customers that they hear about the abuse this store is doing to the elderly, there are others and a class action may be needed. avoid at all cost. an employee by the nake of erica ripped of my elderly family member and this will not be tolerated. the store took no responsibility for this and the people who work there don't care. for example, erica asked if she should put the screen protector on and never asked if this was even wanted to be bought. by the way she framed questions, misled on actual cost and pro otion and then charged 3 setup fees and the boxes were not even opened. when someone see a 300 charge they did not know the other 2100 would be tacked on to her bill? wtf? elderly abuse is a serious crime and this will be handled by our lawyer. if you had a similar experience with this shop or any of their affiliates, please dm me. read more

The customer service at this location is terrible ...reading the reviews I spotted some of the same issues I had ..they have real attitude problems ..if you must deal with Verizon..and I wouldn't...save your self the stress and drive to Asheville read more

Best Verizon experience ever! I needed to upgrade 4 phones, 1 here 3 in California, as well as upgrade our plan. Curtis was AMAZING!! Extremely helpful - explaining everything, taking care of everything, and so friendly. Frankly, I have never had a positive Verizon store experience, so this totally blew me away! He even identified discounts that we qualify for and told me how to access them. I can't praise him high enough! read more

THIS REFLECTS MY EXPERIENCE AT THE WAYNESVILLE, NC and SYLVA, NC CELLULAR SALES LOCATIONS ----- DO NOT GO HERE! FAIR WARNING, this is an authorized retailer (Cellular Sales) - NOT an official Verizon --- and it shows in their policies/customer service. Went in to purchase the most expensive phone on the market as well as start a new line. We ended up purchasing a new phone, Apple watch, and 2 lines of service. As I asked for a specific phone, the tech goes to the back and comes back opening the package. This struck me as odd because I didn't even tell him the color I wanted, yet he was walking back with a $2k phone and opening it before I even confirmed. Told him I wanted a different color, comes out doing the same thing. Well, I found out why. They will open phones in store for customers to look at/play with, and if they don't end up purchasing them, they put them back in the box and sell them to the next customer. NOT AN OK PRACTICE WITHOUT DISCLOSING TO A CUSTOMER. So without knowing this, I also had to leave my new phone there for about 3 hrs because the back up had "issues." Finally get my phone, head home, and another tech was supposed to clear my previous phone for trade in. Call to confirm everything was deleted, new guy asks for my password to gmail, says its not working, tells me to COME BACK TO THE STORE as it is SNOWING outside. I leave in the snow to go back to reset the phone, and sure enough, the guy was asking for my gmail password instead of my Samsung acct password. Then when I point it out, he apologizes because he's "only been here 3 months." I leave, get home, notice this phone has scratches along the bottom of the screen. Definitely not from me because I baby all of my electronic devices and walked around with it in a towel until I got my case on. So now I'm like wtf... did this damage happen while I left my phone there? From factory? So I go back to the store again later and the same inexperienced tech is there. Explain that I got this new phone, but it has these tiny feather-like scratches along the bottom of the screen. The tech then informs me that he only has opened phones in stock right now and that he knows they are opened because "they have a green sticker on them." I pull out my original box, and lo and behold, there is a green sticker on it. THEY SOLD ME AN OPENED PHONE. Then when I told them I want to exchange it for an unopened/undamaged one, they gave me the run around. Called all Cellular Sales locations between here and AVL to see if they had the phone in stock. Nope - all the phones were opened or out of stock. Went into an official Verizon store and they were going to do an exchange-no issue on the spot, but saw that it was sold by Cellular Sales, so their hands were tied. Finally found the phone at Cellular Sales in Sylva and go there to do the exchange. After the managers are aware of the situation, they have admitted to selling me an open phone, etc... they decide to charge me a $75 restocking fee to exchange my phone for an unopened one. Had they been up front about selling opened products, I would have NEVER purchased this $2k phone from them. Also, purchasing from them makes it so the legit Verizon stores can't exchange/etc. Funny how this 3rd party seller acting as Verizon can be shady, selling opened products, and then turn around and charge me $75 to restock it, yet had I purchase it at the official Verizon store, I would have had it exchanged immediately with no charge. Even the real Verizon store wouldn't have ripped me off and owned up. MORAL OF THE STORY - GO DIRECTLY TO THE REAL VERIZON STORE BY WALMART - DO NOT BRING YOUR MONEY HERE BECAUSE THEY ARE SHADY IN ALLLLL WAYS. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Getting a new cell phone has always been a hassle, but I had a great experience at the Verizon store on Russ Avenue today. I called the store at around noon inquiring if they had iPhone6+ in stock. The sales representative Jesse was incredible. I gave him my information over the phone. When I arrived at the store at 5pm, he had gotten me a better deal on my contract, got my son's phone number switched from AT&T, and had the iPhone6+ all ready and waiting for us. Verizon is a crap company overall! I was in here with a friend because he was being robbed by verizon and no one on the phone could help him! I'm giving them a three star because it was nice inside but parking is a nightmare as well as getting in and out of the lot! read more

My mother was ready to enter this century and get a smart phone, retiring her flip phone. She had spoken to someone at the Russ Avenue store, and he'd promised to help her. I called on Thursday to see if he would be in the next day and was assured he would be. Only he didn't work at all the next day. My mother is on my brother's bill, and we'd already discussed it with him, and he'd given us both the ok for her to get what she wanted, an iPhone. We walked in and Seth approached us, excited to help us. When we told him what she wanted, he immediately launched into how wonderful the Android phone was. He had an iPhone sitting there to demonstrate how it didn't stack up to the Android. I mean, he was giving her a hard sale! My mother is 80, but she's up on most technology and she certainly has her own mind and can make her own decisions. I left it up to her. Well, he talked her into the Android. After everything was switched over, signed, paid for, ,etc., she and I went to lunch. My brother called because he'd gotten an email about the transaction, and he was a little surprised she didn't get the iPhone. Mother has never been one to text, and she was anxious to learn, and my brother told her since she has a Mac computer, she can text on the computer when she's at home. She told him some of the other features Seth claimed only the Android had, and my brother told her she could do them all on an iPhone, something Seth failed to inform her of. (I have an iPhone, but am still learning all the cool features.) She eventually made the decision to take advantage of the return policy, so after we'd had lunch we went back to the store. Seth was helping someone else, and there was a female employee who approached us. We gave her the Reader's Digest version of why we had returned, she went to Seth and told him something (apparently that we were there to see him again). When she came back I asked if she could help, but she still wanted him to handle it. She asked more questions about why we were returning the Android, and I told her Mother really wanted the iPhone. She said, "Ahhh, well I have the Android and I love it!" I'm left to the conclusion that they are making hefty commissions on those Android phones. Seth was not happy about the exchange. He wasn't rude, but I could tell he wasn't happy. I had mentioned to Mother that she should use the other Verizon store in town, the one near WalMart, but she'd already talked to someone at the Russ Avenue store and wanted to stick with them. I will never return there, and will encourage her not to, even though it is closer to her residence. read more
