Honestly, if I could give 0 stars I would. I walked in, had to check myself in due to short staff, and sat there waiting for over an hour. Just came for an upgrade, had everything ready and knew exactly what I wanted. Got a notification I was next in line, but three people that walked in after me and weren't checked in got helped first? Then finally someone walked up to me an hour in asking if I had been helped, didn't find my name in queue so she added me, with 3 people ahead of me. Got a notification 20 minutes later I am next, just to be told they can't help me because I don't have my ID and they can't use a picture due to AI. I went in yesterday 8/19 because I've been having ongoing issues with my brand new phone. After receiving a replacement phone that was damaged, a tech on Verizon chat told me to keep my chat open and go into the nearest store so they can give me a brand new phone, as I have been on a second level escalation for 3, almost 4 weeks now. The woman, a blonde lady with blue green eyes was an ABSOLUTE awful person. She didn't listen to what I was saying. Just heard, troubleshooting and said I would never receive a brand new phone, I would have to go to Asurion. I said I have the chat open and she said "oh perfect we can look here too to see what they said" and walked over to her manager, I'm assuming, and another man. They were talking about me like I wasn't there. I KNOW this isn't a phone issue, but that's what verizon support sent me there. She said something and I asked her to clarify and she said "let me say it again for you, I'm not taking your phones and you'll have to pay $3,000 if you don't return them" which is what i was TRYING to do. So I gathered my stuff and left. She made it a point to tell me they would be documenting everything. Good. I called verizon and filed a formal complaint on that person. What an awful human. I work in customer service and to be treated SO poorly by her and the fact that the manager (again I'm assuming) didn't even make eye contact with me when talking about my issues that they didn't even take the time to learn about. How disgusting. My husband and I were planning on buying 2 new watches and adding lines if they would have been even just a bit nicer. But no, I am never going to this location ever again. According to her "never in her 11 years of working here has Asurion given anyone a new phone" we'll lady, the calls are recorded as you reminded me and yes, yes they did. Stay away from this store. I wish I would have read the reviews before I went in again. They charged me for two watches when I only bought one. I didn't catch the error on my bill until a few months later because the rep had told me that I would see two charges: one for the line and the other for the device. So I assumed that my bill was ok. When I caught the error, the store said they could not do anything to help and left it up to me to take this on with Verizon. It was a horrible and unfair experience. I wish I could leave ZERO STARS for the Betteravia store in Santa Maria, CA. They are absolutely the worst example of customer service. I have ever experienced in my life. The way they treated my 90 two-year-old mother today at her 2 o'clock appointment and literally escorted her out because she doesn't have a Driver's license. Wish I saw the revies first before going to this Verizon branch. Carolyn was very rude and seems like she doesn't care about customers. Gave you the order and thats it. Didnt listen to any on of my concerns, no customer service etiquette at all. Too bad Verizon doesn't have Employee Complaint center. The other staff was helpful. Unfortunately due to present times. This branch doesn't and can't do any of your request like protective screen application, which Caroline said "its easy to place, you can do it yourself". I was so upset with the service I received here. I went in after my iPhone screen was frozen. The customer service guy tried to turn it on/off then told me to go to the Apple store instead. He couldn't even pull up my information to check if my phone was insured because he needs to send my phone a notification and my phone was not working. It's apparently a new policy. They can't pull up your account without your phone being on...? I asked to use their phone at their desk and the guy said they can't make outbound calls. Wow He recommended a cell phone recovery across from them they were able to fix the issue within an hour for $30. Just skip Verizon and go to Cell Phone Recovery down the street if you're phone isn't working. read more

Horrible customer service. Starting off with "the greeter" Abel is his first name no smile as we walk in nor a hello, more like we were bothering him entering the store. Very disappointed and dissatisfied with the continued poor customer service of this store.. Abel "the greeter" didn't bother to look up my account until I told him I wanted to file a complaint. I wanted to purchase a charger he said the wall is over there if we have it. Didn't offer to help me find it he was to busy texting or pretending to be working on his phone. There was no line, no one waiting in the parking lot for the most part was empty but he said if I wanted assistance it would be 40min wait. He had major issues with me asking to speak to a supervisor I literally had to stand in front of the door where employees come out from to try and speak to a manager even then the employees that came out were like speak with "the greeter" after he repeatedly refused since I wouldn't give him my phone #. If a customer wants to speak to a manager or supervisor I don't understand why they would hesitate. I have been a customer for over 25years and the Customer service is non existent at this location. When I finally spoke to a manager she apologized but she allowed him stand there and try to intimidate me, now all of a sudden he's interested in what I need, the manager didn't even bother to help me look for a charger I walked out empty handed, thankfully the T-mobile in the same parking lot helped me with the charger purchase I needed. I was trying to carrier unlock my iphone and the first chunk representative said they I needed to call customer service. I Explained that I had already talk to them twice for a total of 3hours. She said they dont do that there. When i called VCS they told me to go to that Verizon store. A amanger stepped up and she didnt know about soing carrier unlocks. Then she said she had an iphone 7 before and the hardware did not allow that specific model to be unlocked. I have been with AT&T for at least 2 decades now, I was going to bring 5 family members on to my plan but their service at the ATT store front location in Santa Maria sucked so bad that I went to the Verizon store. As I approached Verizon Alicia open the door and greeted me. I was totally shocked and told her so. I told her that I just came from AT&T and they did not even greet any of the customers. Alicia took me and my family And discussed the need for us to combine our service plans. She was patient and kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable. Stopped by here to upgrade my wife's and I phones as we were up for an update since about September last year. Joshua was our agent and he was nice and pleasant to work with, much better service here then at those "authorized retailers" that are around. I've been with Verizon every since I got my first phone back in 2008 and I love their service. I picked up a BlackBerry PRIV and my wife got a Galaxy S7. So far so good. I've always used a blackberry and love their service as I do a lot of work on my phone. I love having a keyboard and don't do so much games or video so these work outstanding for me. I didn't get a chance to look at his name tag but whoever was working at 2 Pm on 7/25/20 at the middle left counter worked with me to pick up a phone my mother had purchased from texas. It was complicated because I was not authorized as an account manager but he worked with me while I coordinated this account adjustment on the phone. I checked in at 5:30 to open a new line and wasn't attended until 7pm. Every time I go into this Verizon location, they have different managers, and all seem to follow the same protocol. Every 30 minutes or so I was asked if i still wanted to keep waiting, which only made me feel rejected. While waiting I witnessed 3 customers get angry and frustrated over different circumstances, all of which were reasons to be upset. When I was finally helped at 7:30 I was told the phone I wanted wasn't available and that the credit bureau may have not been open to open the new line. I kept being asked from the manager if I wanted to make an appointment and come back the next day. I was at this same location two years ago and I noticed the same thing happening with other customers. I was also there 6 months ago for an issue with my phone, and I was told to just go to the Apple store. I don't recommend going to this store to purchase a phone. read more

Arrived 30 mins before they closed to purchase a phone to give as a gift so we would not be setting up the phone there. We were greeted by an employee at the front of the store who told us they were technically closed because Verizon shuts their system down at 6:30 (due to Covid) and will not help anyone after that time. Currently it says they are open until 7 pm. An older lady pulled up right after us who needed help with her phone and he refused to help her also because they were technically closed even though all the lights are on and about 6 employees are just standing around inside the building. But in this time with the virus going around and needing our phones more, but can't afford more days you would think they would do what allot of other carriers are doing, the Data Cap. I called a rep and he said no, but to check on line for any changes. That was that. My husband had told me to go to AT&T, now I'm considering. I always have more then two phones thru Verizon. You would think they would set the $$ aside and work and help the customer. Call your local Verizon and ask about if they are doing the Data cap at this time, you will be disappointed they are not. Store employees could not port her number to Verizon and could not transfer her data to new phone. They wanted her to drive to the Apple Store in San Luis Obispo. Looking at the reviews and wondering why a major blue chip company like Verizon can not get their rating above a TWO. Here's why. Customer service!! rather lack of, While Verizon does respond back to a limited amount of poor reviews, they maintain the same line. "we want to do better, give us another chance" Another chance? what about the fix needed now Verizon? This came of my recent visit to the Verizon. The employee told me and another person they are only there to sale phones and contracts and that's it. So there you have it for all you folks that need technical service at this store. Decent service, but had a few things that rubbed me the wrong way. I had set up an appointment two days prior and when I arrived, they had no record of it. Must be some sort of glitch, as I wasn't the first person it happened to that day. Luckily, I had a screenshot of the appointment time and they honored that. At first a lot of the "help" I received was "That can't be done in-store and needs to be done online." That was frustrating to hear, as I was trying to open a new account and add an additional line (that needed a SIM card), but they were able to point me in the right direction after I explained my situation. Only one person per party was allowed to enter the store, so my husband had to wait outside for 40 minutes. While he waited, the security guard in front of the door mentioned "how veterans are so entitled" and how she needed to stay professional (as my active duty husband stood nearby). Not very professional service. This is a mediocre store at best, which is unfortunate because this is the only store that's close by. read more

I would give this store a negative rating if I could. I purchased a Gizmo watch for my son last month - the $175+ version. The girl who helped me out told me that I came in at a perfect time because they were waving activation fee. I asked her also how much the monthly charge was, and she told me that it was but $5 a month. I asked her what the difference was between the cheaper Gizmo and the one i was getting and she told me that with the more expensive Gizmo, my son can call and text up to 10 people. I should have asked more questions, but i trusted her. We later found out that my son can't just call without me having to program the numbers into the Gizmo app first. I think this is a great safety feature, ONLY i wish i had been told that. Then on the last week of school, my son finally tried to use the text feature, but I wasn't getting his text messages. I tried to send him a message, but he wasn't getting my messages either. Fast forward to today when i got my bill. Imagine my surprise when what's usually a $130+monthly bill was an almost $200 bill. I always pay extra but even with the credit, my bill was $182! I called customer service to ask for an explanation and I was told that not only was I getting charged for the activation fee, what I was told to be a $5 monthly charge was actually $20. There was also a "one time charge" of whatever which I wasn't even told about. Then to add more salt to the wound, I spent almost 3 hours with a tech over the phone and nobody could get my son's texting feature to work. The call got disconnected but they didn't even bother calling back. Oh yeah, the last tech I was connected to was surly and rude. I would return this watch but I am past the 14 days return window. So now we're stuck with a useless gadget. I will have my son's Gizmo disconnected, and probably mine too and transfer to another carrier. I will also be writing corporate office. Their sale tactics are deceptive and customer service is just as bad. read more
