I've always gone to the Verizon store in northville and it's always crowded and the customer service has always been sub par. Even if I had a simple "hey I switched from android to an apple but I'm not getting half my messages!" This particular location could take me the same day whereas the soonest availability for the northville store was 3 days away. So now that I've discovered this store. And Gabe's friendly customer service, I can't stop raving about this to my fellow Verizon wireless users. My only recommendation? Make an appointment. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I just switched over from AT&T to Verizon due to the data breach and I called my order in through the toll-free number and got approved. Upon arrival at the store, an elderly worker helped me while he was helping several others and leaving me scratching my head because he wasn't answering basic questions. So the journey began with him opening the new iPhone 15 pro max and telling me it would be 29 dollars to transfer my contacts over they told me this would be waived when I ordered it for pickup. Then I told him to keep the phone and he told me that there would be a $50 restocking fee ( are you kidding me) why didn't he tell me this upfront? He was very rude and rushed and would not come back to answer any questions. They told me they would take my trade-in and process the return, this guy told me they would send me a return kit and I have to wait up to 14 days to receive it. I work for T-Mobile and I needed to switch to Verizon because I don't have coverage in my new house that I am about to move to. Now when I got to the store I was the first one in line ( waiting outside in the rain ) but they took me in last because I didn't have an existing account with them. Then they took me in and I told the guy who was whispering while the music was loud inside the store. I told the guy that I want to switch over and then he started GOOGLING Verizon current offers!!! He didn't know!!! He talked to me about to promotions and then was like no I am sorry this one isn't available anymore!! The guy made me feel uncomfortable because he made me feel like I am just a homeless dude that trying to get a discount!! Are you kidding me ?? Do you call this a customer service ?? Brutial service. My mother in law came in for an iPhone. She was upgrading from a flip phone. Service in transition was terrible. Not all information was transferred. I had to install her information and pictures. She wasn't tutored in the features. The sales person was to busy answering his text messages. Also, to busy trying to up sell. That should be secondary. I stopped in here this past week because my phone was flipping out (Androids ... love them but hate them too sometimes). I had a feeling the customer service rep was going to tell me to do a hard reset, and she did. This experience was ... interesting. To preface, I am a techie. I have an iPad Mini which I love, for a tablet, but prefer an Android for my phone because it can do so much more (sorry, Apple fanboys). PROS of this Verizon store: -It's nice and large -Wait time was not long (granted, it was near their 5pm closing time on a Sunday, though) -Most of the staff is nice/friendly -I found out about 2 Verizon apps that are helpful - a backup one and an anti-virus type one. CONS of this Verizon store: -The service rep I met with was not the friendliest person. She wasn't UNFRIENDLY by any means but I almost felt like I was being accused of things sometimes. Example: "You should really update your apps." Me: "I do update them." Her: "Really? Because none of these are updated." (I then realized I had been X-ing out the "you must update now" notifications ... oops.) Another - Me: " (says something) " Her: "As I was ABOUT to say ... (says something)" (and she said that a few times, actually, which made me feel like I had been cutting her off or something, which I had not been doing.) So. I'd come back to this Verizon if I was in the area (as I was at the moment my phone started being cranky) but otherwise will maybe try out the new one by me. It's possible I was being a know-it-all, also (talking about the Kit Kat update and whatnot) but it was just an "okay" experience overall. read more

There are several Verizon locations within 15 minutes of home but this is my favorite. A fairly new location, it replaced an older store across the road. I've previously visited this location to get a NFC secured-element SIM card and found the staff to be very helpful. When it was time to activate a new phone that I purchased online, I knew that they would be able to help me out. Between Verizon's tech team over the phone and the super helpful staff in the store, I was able to activate my prized new phone. With all their efforts, they have definitely earned my loyalty. Incidentally, the Verizon store is very well laid out with devices temptingly displayed and seating available for longer visits. While I was there, several customers came in to take advantage of an iPhone/mini iPad offer. For me, the vehicle diagnostics equipment was very interesting; I definitely need to do additional research. read more

Horrible customer service at this location! Spent 3 hours on the phone with customer service who told me that I needed to go in the store to get an issue resolved. Went in the store and after waiting more than 30 minutes, was happy to hear everything was all set. When after speaking with a manager, the sales person then said she misunderstood and I wasted over 1.5 hours of my time to leave with nothing resolved. Only reason I keep Verizon is for good coverage. I will try another location before coming back to this store again. read more

This is my family's go-to Verizon store. We worked with Carlando and he was so helpful! Service was really fast, we were assisted right away. Carlando helped us figure out what phones my mom and I needed based on our needs. I didn't even know my phone was up but I was able to trade in my older iPhone for a brand new iPhone and pay a few dollars less per month than I was currently paying! The rest of the staff we interacted with in the store were very helpful picking out accessories for the bundle deal they had going. Going to the phone store is normally something I dread but not at this Verizon location! Our whole family will be coming in to upgrade their phones at this store! read more

I don't understand all of the negative reviews. When I walked in I was told it would be about a 15 minute wait. Within 5 minutes, Jeff was waiting on me. This in spite of the fact that the store was extremely busy. Jeff was very pleasant and professional, offering several suggestions as to how we could reduce our existing monthly bill. Jeff also introduced me to their business rep who offered additional cost saving suggestions. I couldn't be happier with their service. read more

Employees at this store don't know their own policies and it will cost you. I switched plans to Verizon and traded in a 1 month old iPhone 7 with 256 gb and had to downgrade to a 128gb iPhone 7 as my phone wasn't set for their network. The staff told me that my phone would pay off the new phone as well as add a credit to my account. NOPE! I recently moved and switched services to get better coverage with more data/minutes at a cheaper price in my area and got stuck with a $300 bill to pay off this phone that I was told was already paid off. Thanks for nothing Tim(one of the managers) It was a fiasco. He indicated he would provide a $30.00 credit after numerous problems with my parents 22 year contract with Verizon. "Just wait until the payment sweeps" he says you can't see the credit online now but the payment will be less. NO YOU LIED, I spoke at length to a SUPERVISOR who indicated that not only had you not applied the credit but that if you had it would always be visible to the consumer. Did you just think I would forget about it and not notice? If you weren't authorized to provide the credit, man up and say so. Lying is just not good business. read more

Stopped in this location about 30 minutes after it opened to upgrade my iPhone. As is customary, a greeter asked me if I had checked in yet. I told him that I had not. So he wrote my name in his tablet and stated that there was one other customer in front of me. After waiting 10 minutes, the same greeter asked if I had checked in. I stated that I had checked in. 5 minutes later, greeter #2 asked me if I had checked in. I replied that I had. 10 minutes later, greeter #1 asked me if I had checked in. My reply was "yes for the 4th time." The greeter stated that there was no reason to be rude, he was only trying to help me and he walked away in a huff. My reply was that he could "check me out" and I left to conduct my business with another establishment. Am I wrong to expect that the greeter should remember the people that they had checked in, especially when there were only a half dozen customers in the store. If this store spent more time waiting on customers and less time asking if they had checked in, this problem would be resolved. My family & I recently arrived in Michigan and stopped at this store because my phone wasn't working right. My husband took the afternoon off work specifically to assist me with getting this resolved. No one acknowledged us after we'd been there for a few minutes. After a couple minutes, we noticed the "greeter" who didn't approach is. We approached her. She put us in"the list". My husband and I with our 3 kids in tow waited another 30 mins or so. (No easy task with 3 kids) When 2 other ladies walked in and began to be assisted immidiately. Wasn't the "greeter's" responsibility- to establish a queue? Another male employee walked out from the back room and proceeded to chat with the greeter, laughing and sighing. At this point I approached the "greeter" and let her know 2 people who came in after me were being helped before us. She looked at her tablet screen and told me we'd be helped next. I then asked the male employee who came out to chat if he is an employee able to assist me. He said "Oh, I'm working on something in the back." He ended his conversation and went back to the back room I assume. After about 5 or 6 more minutes, another male employee finally finished with the lady who came in after us and then asked us what he could help us with. Let me preceed with saying this guy's face & tone were as if he did not plan on doing any helping on this day. My husband stated he'd like to change his phone #, he quickly wrote an 800 # down for us to call. It seemed he could at least offer to call with us. After all, why did we take time out of our day to physically go into the store? Not to complete the task at hand? I then asked if he could help me with the sound on my phone not working. I told him the account my phone is under is still under a plan with my mother who had just had surgery and couldn't come in with us. He said "Oh, then I can't do anything for you." I explained my mom would be bedridden for multiple weeks but he could contact her via telephone & verify info with her over the phone. I didn't want her account information-I just needed to buy a new phone. With the sound on my phone not working, I was unable to receive or make calls which would be very inconvenient for many weeks. He said "I'm not going to get fired over it. I did something like that once and I almost lost my job." I had been to several other Verizon stores over the years to upgrade, etc without my mother present so I was confused, irritated and by now I had wasted 40 mins. This was enough to convince me I didn't want to do business with a company with such low standards. In addition, I simply didn't believe this guy. He had an attitude from the start and not one single employee had a clue or cared about us, the client. If it'd be possible to give 0 stars I would. read more

Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced! If you don't like your job, quit or suck it up! Had an issue with my new used phone and the rep, who did not even say hello to me when I walked up to her, got annoyed that she had to try and deal with my problem and when it couldn't be fixed she just walked away, not even apologizing -- she turned her back on me and went to go change the music in the store! And this was after I had an equally bad experience at the Verizon store in Novi a week prior. I have since ditched Verizon and don't miss it at all as my new service provider is working out just fine and for a lot less money. I told myself I wouldn't go back to this location after the last time they blatantly lied to my face and conned me. Which essentially cost me time out of my day to contact their customer service and wait on hold for lord knows how long. However, all I needed was a car charger so I figured I'd be in and out. Wrong. Per usual, the line is ridiculously long and they're always understaffed. For such a busy intersection and big store you'd think Verizon could cough up a few more salaries. Especially after the arm and leg payment I have every month. After 10 minutes of waiting with my anxious 6 year old I asked the guy if it was going to be long for me to simply purchase a charger. He wasn't doing anything besides staring at the large amount of annoyed guests who had already been waiting themselves. He tells "me oh yeah sure we'll have someone with you in just a minute". Awful! I have been with Verizon for over a decade. I usually order my phone online but since this store was so close to my home I decided to stop by. I was interested in renewing my contract and getting a low cost or free phone. Initially, Sales rep Sierra told me there are no such phones and that the phones are $300-$600. I inquired why I would sign a contract if I had to buy the phone. She argued " none of the companies offer what you are looking for". Well, I know that's a bunch of --- because I have seen the offers with att and Verizon. She said " well we have some free phones but they are no good. Now about this $300 phone". Not only did she not value me as a customer, she tried to lie. She chose to lose my business rather than let me renew with a low cost phone. ATT here I come! read more

I was a Verizon customer for over 10 years, and frequented this store to conduct business. I am no longer a Verizon Customer due to this store and Verizon bait and switch tactics encouraged and promoted by the company itself. I had the original unlimited plan and paid a nominal fee. When purchasing a new phone, the Northville store never informed me my plan would change for the worse and began being charged exorbitant amounts with extra charges I never had before. The last straw was the bait and switch program offering to turn in my old phone( paid off) to get a new phone free of charge prompted by both Apple and Verizon. What they don't tell you is that they charge you the entire price of phone if you leave Verizon, plus also put you into a new plan charging you more typically then the old plan you were in( a classic bait and switch scam). Verizon and their store affiliates are crooks and that is why I will never pay for another Verizon service again. Verizon needs a lesson in integrity and ethics, but unfortunately they don't care, as putting the customer first is not apart of Verizon's business model. read more

It has been a while since I bought my S7 edge, but I still feel the need to write this review after forgetting numerous times to do so. The last couple times I went into verizon when looking at phones I was always greeted by friendly people who got me service as soon as they could. The first guy I talked to was Charles. He was great. Very professional, voiced his opinion without coming off aggressive and because of that I am now in a phone I love more than the HTC10 which would have been my first choice. I had a specific situation occur with my account and he told me the steps needed to resolve said issue. So the second time I came back and was ready to buy. I met Mike Lang. Mike was very professional and helped me every step of the way to make sure my transition from old phone to new was seamless. I had a nother very specific problem occur with my account and with my edge buy out (or whatever it might be called.) Reguardless, he called support and worked with the other Mike who helped my get out of my dilemma and into my new S7 edge. They were there 2+ hours after closing helping me as well as other customers while doing their best to get everyone out in a timely, friendly manner. All in all my phone buying experience and "service" experience was exceptional and I would recommend those guy any day. Very knowledgeable and 12/10 would recommend. read more

Visited this Verizon store to select new phones as 3 family members were due an upgrade. Had a very knowledgable sales guy named Alan who discussed phones and plans. We hadn't saved all our info off our devises and there was an offer to turn phones in for $200 of merchandise for the old phone. So we came back last night ready to make the purchase. Had wait for the next available sales person and made the big mistake of taking next available instead of waiting for Alan. This guy "R" immediately tried to tell us the plan we wanted wasn't available to existing customers and wanted to sell us a less advantageous one. I called my son who is in IT and had done all the research and R put him on speaker phone and proceeded to tell him" you didn't read the fine print Bro" word for word. My daughter and I were shocked at how rude he was. My son who wasn't going to renew until a new phone came out in September drove over and showed him the add which clearly stated "upgrades" you can't upgrade if you aren't already an existing customer. He reluctantly put that plan through and then we processed our phones, paid for the activation packed up the new merchandise and came home. Then discovered that he had never activated so we had no phone service or data. Fortunately we were able to use another family members phone to call Verizon directly (we have no home phone anymore) Verizon customer service was very helpful and we are now up and running. It was a very frustrating experience. Last time we got phones it was from Best Buy and they activated and made sure everything was working properly before we left the store. I will not be returning to this Verizon store again. Shoppers beware. read more
