I am very disappointed over the way this franchise store's management handled my situation. The true report what follows I write as a caveat. Kinda like putting a sign up where a bridge is out. You should read this before going into this store. 1st: i want to say that my son was killed 7 years ago. I am not the same. I now do my utmost to see and speak to the good in people. Which was my son's way. It took me all this time to simply turn off his company-phone-line. I likely would still not have done so. Only, I allowed both of our work phones to become old, (many and several years old), and dysfunctional. I called Verizon Customer Support. After telling him that I was wanting to disconnect my dead son's phone-line and upgrade my company phone to a 5G with the best "hot-spot" what Verizon offers. That customer service representative told me that i could get a phone upgrade at virtually no charge because of promotions that were going on. And that I could get the plan I wanted for $88.oo/month. But, then, because of the condition of the phone i was using, we had trouble on my end for me to answer the "yes" questions to get it all moving along. He suggested that I could go to the Verizon Store near me to get it all done. So I drove to the Victra Store at 324 N. Coast Hwy, Newport Oregon. While talking to Bryan, that store's manager, i kept coming to tears over disconnecting my son's line. I simply could not stop seeing his dead body on that metal slab. I continually apologized for my weeping and explained why I was distressed. I explained to Bryan what Customer Service had told me and that what we had discussed was why I was in their store that morning. They initiated a call to Corporate Customer Care to disconnect my son's line. When that was finished he told me, being echoed by a man I believe was named John that the customer service representative who quoted me the $88 plan with the bells and whistles what I wanted did not know what he was talking about and that it could not be done that way because mine is a sole-proprietorship business plan. Which made no sense to me; especially when they told me that I'd be paying $170.oo/month for a 5G phone with a hotspot, (the plan I wanted). The only reason I didn't simply leave at that point is because in honor of my son I really go out of my way now to speak to the good and believe in the good in people rather bthan believe it when it seems that he/she is being underhanded and without scruples. And, because I wanted a new phone. It is, after-all, a Verizon Phone Store. I went along with what Bryan and John were saying was the only way Verizon would give me what I wanted. They said i had to buy a router if i wanted to continue having a hotspot. That Verizon was making a lot of changes to what "has been." I decided that I wanted to choose to believe that each was being legitimate and sincere. I took the 1st modem they got me to agree to out to the van. (Most of my work, business and living is out of my utility work trailer and my van. I had already told them this when I was him-hawing over my uncertainty that that type of hotspot would work for me). I took it out to my van, plugged it into my power supply and it instantly sucked most of the charge off my battery. 2 minutes later I walked it back in and told them why it wouldn't work. Bryan, then, pointed me at another modem call a "gateway." (because he was trying to "save me money" he said). He had to order one though. 3 days later I picked it up. Before leaving with it, I reiterated what I had said many times, if the gateway wouldn't work for me, I'd want what I had come in for to begin with, (a phone with a good hotspot added to the plan). I tried for a day and a half to figure out a system of charging it and using it. But, it merely took too long to charge up and too quickly lost its charge. I called Corporate Customer Service with my dilemma and complaint over the $170.oo/month charge that Bryan was telling me I'd be having to pay if I want to stay with Verizon. She looked at everything and told me I could have the plan I wanted on the 1 phone for the $88.oo/m. She also told me that I was being charged for two additional modem lines. I explained to her all I've already stated. She suspended each and told me she could not disconnect them until the store shipped them back to a warehouse. I took the gateway modem device back into the store and told Bryan everything the customer service rep had told me. He's s'posed to be sending them this next Monday. I denied Bryan's 3rd request that I keep the gateway device on my account but let him have the device and I could come back every month and he'd reimburse me the cost. After I said the idea makes me uncomfortable he had me pay $50 restocking fee. It's hard to say how long it'll take for my account to level out or how much this will wind up costing me in the end. -BEWARE read more

Father was sold a phone because he was told network upgraded to 5 g and his two year old phone was not working as a result of this . He felt pressured and was not told he could pay half the price of what he was quoted or offered a similar phone for less. We were told that any phone that is not 5g compatible will be "useless" in 5-6months because of 5g. He was adamant about this. Could not tell me if the Moto z3 would be useless without the 5g Moto mod. They sell that in that store. So he was will to sell that phone not sure when if it would be useless in 5-6months. On the central coast of Oregon we will not see 5g for at least two years. Current phones that are not 5g compatible will NOT be useless in the next year. Below is a statement about Verizon's plan to roll out this technology. The guy in the Verizon was either straight up lying or very very misinformed. Either way I will never go back to this store and strongly recommend you don't For the next several years Verizon's 5G service will piggyback off its massive 5G network. Expect to see 5G service in larger cities and busy places like airports and stadiums, but you will be unlikely to see the service in the suburbs and rural areas for years to come. read more

We went into this store for another issue. The gentleman pulled up our account and said we could get a 2 GB plan for $5 LESS per month. We said great, I'm all for saving more money. He switched the plan and I thought all was fine until I got our bill today. It was $20 MORE! I did the online chat with Verizon. They said the 2 GB plan was $57 a month. That's $10 MORE per month than we were paying. I told the Verizon Rep the gentleman at the store, fibbed and told us it would be $5 LESS. I know $5 and $10 doesn't sound like a lot, but I've had cancer bills up to my armpits and every dollar really matters. I told the Verizon Rep I will NEVER go back into this store. I'll call Verizon instead. Be careful, the employees at this store don't seem to know all the facts. Month 2....my bill is STILL screwed up from this idiots 'change'. I will be leaving Verizon and going with Straight Talk. This is BS! DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!!!! read more

My husband needed a new phone so we went here today. Trenton Palmer was so helpful and kind. He helped save us money by consolidating our accounts and gave us great advise on the best match for the phone. It took awhile to transfer over data and he hung around an we learned a lot about Newport. It was a very pleasant experience. I would recommend this place and Trenton. read more

My mom and I came in today and needed some help with my mom's phone. It was locked and we couldn't remember the password. Trenton was able to figure out the problem in less than a minute. We were so thankful! While I was talking to Trenton he told me how to turn on WiFi calling. I didn't even know this was an option! This is going to be so helpful. We have a house at the beach and one in the mountains with WiFi but little or no cellphone service. No more standing out in the driveway to make calls. Thank you Trenton! read more

Came to this store on Wednesday Dec 5, 2018 for the purpose of adding a second phone to my account so my room mate would be on my Unlimited $100+ per month account. I have an excellent S4 that was previously my main phone until a Verizon rep said my rural connections would be enhanced with a newer model so I got the J7, they explained that new tech means a newer 2nd line phone is required. The new employee "Ross" has not been sufficiently trained to be familiar with Verizon Plans; Verizon Products; and asked the other sales person at the store: "Taylor" for help. It was obvious that Taylor had more knowledge but that she had no intention of helping Ross address the customer concerns. Her demeanor and verbal confrontational approach to customer care needs serious managerial attention. Ross ended up calling his manager who was out on lunch break at 2 PM and since Taylor had left as well on her lunch break Ross needed help. The Manager came back, passed us sitting at their table without introduction, gave Ross some instructions and sent him over to us with a new J7 and a proposal to double my monthly cost. Yikes. I am retired with 40 years of retail and wholesale management experience, this store needs an attitude adjustment. Basically we could not afford their solution and no alternative was presented although plenty are advertised on the door and walls! Moving to a line for my friend through T-Mobile looks promising, I may move there as well! read more

While visiting Newport my new phone acted up. Ross spent hours working on my phone, backing it up and diagnosing the problem. It could not be fixed, so a replacement was sent to the store and arrived the next day. Josh expertly got me up and running in no time at all, while being courteous and friendly. I strongly urge any potential customer to consider any other option - including an actual Verizon corporate store. This is an"independent" store, meaning it isn't required to follow Verizons policies. My mother was told misleading info and was sold things she did not require. The return policy is 14 days, but you won't see a bill in this time. By the time you get a bill, it's too late, and you are stuck in a contract. The service and phone will cost about $1000 a year. Very misleading and unethical sales tactics. Verizons policies for worry free guarantee are NOT HONORED HERE! Save yourself money, time, and headaches by choosing any other option for wireless service. read more
