I had scheduled an appointment to pick up an iphone that I ordered on the Verizon website. I signed in at the prescribed time and received a message on my phone that the wait would be 7 minutes. I walked out an hour and 15 minutes later without my new phone and without having contact with any of the four employees. I was never greeted, spoken to, or acknowledged. Oh, and I did shave and shower, applied deodorant and dressed appropriately before the appointment. When I left, there were still 3 people ahead of me. The employees were more interested in upselling rather than taking care of all the customers in the store. I cancelled my order on line and ordered the same iphone from Apple and will just wait the 10 days for home delivery. read more

Even though they were under remodel they were still open, so thankful. Even on the Sunday I went. (A sign on the door at the one in Kapa'a said due to 'staffing issues' it was closed; which is the one we normally go to). I was checked in and seen very soon after. Jay helped me with my phone issues and was very patient when I had to wait for approval via our business account office Rep. (Which could've made the anxious situation feel even more anxious if he wasn't so kind and patient.) Also my daughter whispered to me that she was tired and wanted to sit down somewhere (but there were no chairs inside). Not even a minute later, without me even asking, Jay went away and brought out a chair for her to sit on! So very kind and thoughtful. A+ care and customer service! As of now unless things change, I would never come to Lihue Verizon to purchase a new phone/upgrade/verify trade in value. I would recommend calling the main line of Verizon to speak to a representative about the best deal they can offer you. It may take some time to get them on the phone but it is so worth it if you can save hundreds of dollars. Example, my only option to purchase an iPhone 12 was at full retail price at Lihue Verizon. I could not even get a trade in value. I called Verizon customer service's main line and found out since I am a loyalty member and have been a Verizon customer for 20 years that I did have a $100 trade in credit and another promotion which gave me $579.00 off my purchase. So obviously I chose this vs getting zero dollars off my purchase at the Lihue store. Q Would have loved to support the local Verizon store instead but apparently they "don't" offer the same deals or who knows. So I recommend calling the main line for Verizon to find out your best deals there and purchasing over the phone or online. read more

I was very disappointed. There was a wait but that was fine, I expected it. I explained that I wanted to trade in my I-phone 13 pro- max for a 15 pro-max and also my watch a SE for a 8. My phone died without warning while I was on vacation in Kauai. I got into the store pretty quickly on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. When I explained what happened to an employee named Michael he was in a rush to get me out of his hair. He handed me a brochure, and said "You have the insurance so file a claim online." It struck me as odd that he wouldn't assist me in the process since I have been a Verizon customer for many years. I have never even used my insurance before. Went back to the condo where I was staying, followed the instructions online, and got the run around. Entered information, jumped through hoops on Verizon's site only to finally be directed instead to the insurance company's site. Went through all the steps there, and they referred me back to Verizon because it was a "warranty issue." I tried the chat feature online, and whoever was on the other side (they never gave me a name) was CLUELESS! They couldn't answer my questions, and kept suggesting I call this or that number. "With what phone?!?" So I drove back to the store in Lihue. Same easy check-in process, and this time I worked with an employee named Oliver. He was superb! It felt like he actually wanted to help me solve the problem. He gets 5 stars!!! Oliver troubleshooted the charging issue. When he couldn't find a solve for that he walked me through the process of getting a phone shipped to me via the insurance. AND HE WOULD DO IT FOR ME! Whaaaaaa? That's what I called customer service. Ultimately I just bought a new phone because I couldn't be without mine for 2 days. Oliver is the only reason Verizon got 2 stars. Their insurance plan SUCKS! I've been paying over $200 a year for nearly 2 decades, and they can't give me a loner phone or an immediate discount on a new phone? What a ripoff! I got home yesterday, and have cancelled that B.S. insurance plan. Do yourself a favor and do NOT sign up for any of their insurance or protection programs. In Wainiha and stranded by the landslide. Verizon manager in Lihue refused to release my replacement phone (100% paid for) to a friend who was boating in. My friend is on the account as a manager and has a Hawaii Drivers License but was not able to present my credit card - because it was over here on the other side of the landslide. Came in on Wed (11/21) the day before Thanksgiving to get my wife an Apple Watch for her birthday. I was greeted and checked in right away. While waiting to be called the workers asked what I came in for and let me know where the watches were so I could take a look at it before being assist. It took less than 5 minutes when I got called and assisted by Geoff. Geoff greeted me and was able to look up my info to see what phone I had and he let me know that my phone was compatible with the watch. Unfortunately, I wasn't getting the watch for me so he had to look up my wife's number and her phone, which wasn't compatible (it has to be IPhone 6s/6s+ and newer). Before I started to panic because my wife wouldn't be able to get her Watch, he informed me that there was a sell on the iPhone X and I could get $400+ off the price of the phone. So like any good husband with no backup plan I decided that it was about time my wife gets an upgrade to her phone and bought the phone for her. Then Geoff related to me that I could get $150 off for the Apple Watch if I wanted to buy it by Friday. So I figure what the heck, I was already there and was gonna get the watch eventually. Upon arrival we were checked in and I let the rep know which phone I wanted to get. He said I was #5 in line and that if I leave the store I will be pushed to the back of the line. We waited in store for 45 minutes before I went to check the status of the line, we were then #4 in line. They only serviced 1 customer in 45 minutes. The 2nd rep I spoke with informed me that I wouldn't wait as long if I had a connection with someone that worked there so I can make an appointment. I asked to make an appointment. He then explained that appointments don't guarantee a help time, just push you up the waitlist. Ridiculous. This rep also asked what phone I wanted and I told him. I asked him how long it takes to get the phone, he said 15 minutes. I told him he spent more than 15 minutes telling me all of the reasons they can't help me during which time, he could have just let me buy the phone. At this time there were 3 of the 5 reps registering people at the door. I would suggest a kiosk so the reps can actually assist customers instead of standing around at the door having non work related conversations with each other. We decided to leave as we had other things to do and did not anticipate a 3 hour wait at Verizon. As I attempted to leave, a 3rd rep asked if he could help me, I told him I just wanted to buy a phone and advised which one. He then said I can make an appointment. Annoyed, we walked out. I called from the car to "make an appointment." The manager on duty let me know that she would make the appointment but that it's not guaranteed. Again, ridiculous. We received a generic apology and was asked which phone I wanted. I told her what phone I wanted and was then informed that they didn't even have the phone in stock and that they all know it's on backorder. Mind blown. I explained to 3 different reps in the store exactly which phone I was there for and not one told me they didn't have it. Waste of my time. Needless to say I am less than impressed. If you're expecting competency and customer service, you're expecting too much from this store. read more

On Saturday July 2nd 2016 my father in law and sister in law visited this location. My father in law broke his phone but was due for an upgrade so he received a new phone with no problem. My sister in law's phone was broken as well but was a AT&T customer but switched to Verizon, being added to her fathers plan. My father in law showed his old phone to the store rep whine said "you should get at least $200 for this phone". But, a male store manager came over and said "let's look at this phone in the back" which seemed very strange. When they returned from the back they explained that the old phone wasn't worth anything. My father in law and sister in law didn't receive any credits for there old phones so they kept them. On Saturday July 9th, 2016 my father in law and i visited the store because he wanted to get a case for his new phone and he received an email saying he can get $300 credit for a trade in. The male worker looked into the email and explained that the trade in phone value must be $1 or greater and his old phone was not legible for the promotion. However my sister in laws iPhone5 was legible but only for $200 credit towards the account, but we left the phone at home. Following his recommendation we ordered the case for my father in laws phone which was charged to the account and the case will be shipped to our home. And he said we can bring the iPhone in and they can credit the account the $200, even though it was an AT&T phone. The next day we came back to the store with the IPhone. We checked in and waited around 20 minutes for someone to help us. The male worker that helped us the day before was busy at the moment so a young female worker "helped" us. I explained the situation and she said that in store they can only give about $75 for the trade in because it was not at the time of the actual trade in. But if we went online we can get the full $200 credit, that Verizon will mail a box and we would have to send the iPhone in the mail. I explained again, that the male worker whom I pointed out at this time said we can bring the phone in and that a $200 credit will be put towards the account. But she didn't do anything but continue to explain we have to do it online if we want the full credit. So we left the store! Update** On July 14th 2016, my mother in law called Verizon's customer help line because my father in law accidentally deleted the text message with the link for the trade in promotion. With the help of a customer service rep she received a new promotional code and was able to get a "trade in quote" online. However it valued the IPhone at only $104, way less than originally quoted. After explaining the whole situation to the agent at Verizon Helpline and spending nearly an hour on the phone with her she said that the Verizon store shouldn't have taken my father in laws old phone because it should still be worth something and with the promotional code you can get up to $300. She apologized and said she was going to place us on hold and attempt to contact this store to figure this situation out. After a few minutes of being on hold another rep by the name of Marie came on the line to help us. This is where it gets real frustrating, Marie had no idea or information about what was going on. To cut this part down, we had to re-explain everything to Marie whom couldn't even figure out who was helping us and all she did was give us another promotional code; which doesn't help the situation. So basically Verizon emailed my father in law a "bonus credit promotion" after he upgraded his phone and added his daughter on to his plan. When we went in to inquire about it one worker told us to bring the old AT&T iPhone in to get a $200 credit. But the next day, another worker explained in store they'll only give $75 but through the "online trade in" they can give the $200. After spending nearly an hour on the phone with a helpline agent she transferred us to a new agent and made us start from the beginning again. Verizon needs to get all there workers on the same page about promotions, trade in and customer service. This kind of customer service re-assures that I made a good choice about sticking with AT&T! read more

Their only answer is to buy a more expensive monthly plan that still won't fix your problem. These people simply don't care. Asurion Insurance is terrible, $7/month and $200 deductible to replace your phone. They sent me a refurbished phone (REFURBISHED!! I could have bought a refurbished phone for less than $200 and would have spent less time with these service calls). I received phone and followed steps to activate it. Phone cellular service would not activate. Spent over 2 hours on the phone with service department, rep was trying to activate my phone and suggested I go to another location that has stronger signal. Went to an area that my brother's phone (on same plan) had 4G coverage and called again. This rep was also unable to get phone activated and suggested I go into nearest location and have them replace SIM card and have a tech activate it. This brings me to the reason why I am writing my review on this location. Manager, Melissa, was unwelcoming when I gave her the purpose of my visit. She then told me "well there is 4 customers ahead of you and you will have to wait to see a rep." Perfect ok with waiting my turn but was very rude, clearly I spent a ton of time patiently waiting all day to get this resolved and was poorly treated at this store. I requested to speak to a manager to bypass this person and she replied "I am the manager." Moderate wait time, approximately 20 min, and was greeted by Jay. Jay did the proper steps to get it activated but still unable to activate. Jay's opinion is Asurion sent me a faulty phone and would need to go through them to get another phone. Asurion is a joke and Verizon needs to drop their protection service. This Verizon location needs to reevaluate the management team, unsatisfied walking in and surprising even more unsatisfied walking out. read more
