I brought my 3 month old Galaxy in to replace the charge cord since the original no longer charges. (Had to charge the phone with the car charger.) The Verizon staff this morning informed me that, although the telephone is still under warranty, the charge cord that came in the original papackage with the cellphone is not and I would need to purchase a new one. When I took the original cord out of his hand and left to buy one at Target (for half of the price, I was told by another early morning staff member that I was not longer welcome back. According to the policy detailed on line the charge cord also has a one year warranty. Incidentally the staff member who said the cord was not under warranty never looked up at me. That poor guy sat there for 3 hours with me and helped me sort out all my Verizon based issues haha I've never been a fan of this location BUT I have to say, I've had a change of heart. Adam is super helpful, empathetic, and genuinely kind. He made sure I was taken care of walking into the store, up til the moment he held the door open for me to walk back out. After 3 weeks of trying to upgrade my phone, through online, store, and telephone it was the worst experience in terms of how Verizon sucks as a company. They kept saying my phone was ready but wasn't which resulted me driving to multiple locations wasting my time. They also cancel my orders without informing me therefore delaying my phone since I was never notified. Lastly, I go to the store to ask for help because it takes about 2-3 hours to speak to someone that isn't out of the state, the store also wasn't helpful. Instead they tell me to just call 611. Anthony, the sales associate who helped me, encountered a "system glitch" that led to him cancelling my original account created online by me and creating a new one in-store. Regrettably, this change was made without my knowledge or consent, and it has resulted in severe repercussions for me. This "system glitch" information was given to me today by Rebecca the Store Manager. To make matters worse, the original account due to this "system glitch" has been mistakenly sent to collections, causing a significant reduction of 160 points in my credit score and all while being in the current process of purchasing my first home. As a single mother of two, I have worked diligently to improve my credit score. However, this incident has severely impacted my family and I. I was in the process of loan approval until my loan officer informed me that my credit score drop resulted in loan declination. Now, the house that my children and I chose after many months of searching is gone. This erroneous debt is both distressing and deeply unfair. I attempted to resolve this issue by reaching out to Verizon's customer service, but I have been met with frustration and disappointment as I was repeatedly transferred to different departments without finding any resolution. After a few hours on the phone, I sought assistance by walking in to this corporate store and asked to speak to the Store Manager-Rebecca. During my visit to the store, I politely requested Rebecca's district manager's name and contact information to escalate the matter as she said she's never dealt with my particular situation before and did not know how to proceed. Unfortunately, she declined to provide this information and, in an unfortunate turn of events, asked me to leave the premises. I understand that errors can occur in any business, but the lack of empathy, accountability, and professionalism exhibited by the store manager, Rebecca is truly appalling. In addition, I had signed up for a brand new phone going to get a $400 trade-in guess what instead of simply giving me the $400 to my account they have amortize it over three years Now that is creative financing. In addition I was told I would qualify for a 30 day free trial for their Internet provider. They didn't turn out quite true. They merely billed me for $50 for the unit and when contacted Verizon said yep nope no 30 day free trial, no doubt about it. We tried out the Verizon Internet and took it back after one week because it didn't work well with the location we live in. I went and dropped off the modem to the store and they told me we were all good to go for it to be returned. Three weeks later I got an email saying that we haven't returned it and we're going to get charged $200 because we haven't returned the modem yet even though we had already canceled our service. After being on the phone for an hour with customer service who couldn't help because they couldn't get a hold of the store because they weren't answering the phone, they told us we had to go back to the store where we returned it. We had to go into the store and we found out that it had been sitting in the back of the store for three weeks still in the UPS shipping label and they told us it would be easier if we went and took the package to ups ourselves. Between needing to repair my phone screen to transfer things (no hope there) & purchasing a new phone, there were some run arounds. KY assisted in getting my new phone, upgraded my account, & adding a watch through a promotional deal, confirming what my account bill SHOULD be and so forth. There were system issues etc. She handled it KY deserves a raise, promotion and whatever else in these hard times!!! I was exhausted & because she chose to have patience, I chose to as well. Detail summary below.. THE ISSUES: Verizon system kept glitching so the watch couldn't get set up, which led to more run around and to me speaking to a verizon rep on the phone, which led to even more confusion. The phone rep wasn't knowledgeable and miscalculated future payments etc. I almost said "forget it". KY ASSISTANCE: KY called unexpectedly for a follow up. When she heard everything & what the lady said, she decided to handle my account till everything was sorted out. I wanted to get a phone and service for my mom for her birthday. The gist is I just wanted to pay for the phone and service for her. Here are important details before I start: 1. Verizon Live chat rep, "Jessica," told me I could use my card for my mom's account even though my billing address is different from her's. As long as the zip code matched. I don't live with her. 2. Verizon sales rep, Michael, via telephone told me to just go pick it up at any store location. He was called because I was supposed to call a number after getting an application number while checking out my purchase on the site. Now onto the experience with this location! Sales rep, Ross, treated myself and my mom like criminals from the start all because he thought my mom's social security card was fake. A simple Google image search on the appearance of these cards would clear the matter up but he insisted it was fake because his 60-year-old dad's card didn't look like her's. This card has been accepted everywhere that they asked for a social security number since the day it has been issued: Bank of America, SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION, City of Long Beach, credit card issuers, etc. From then on Ross ignored any explanation or information I provided in an attempt to help him troubleshoot the matter to the best of his abilities. He'd get on the phone while I was still talking to him, write on a paper for me without telling me what it was and turning up the music while serving us. Then after asking me the last four digits of her social security number later, he looked at me in disbelief as I repeated myself and then offered him her card again if he didn't believe. He told me he didn't need that and I'm thinking to myself why bother asking if you're going to reject whatever information I give you? He needed to run her addresses again and wouldn't tell me which to pick and said it was up to me. I asked in the first place because with him working there and knowing my situation (if he listened at all), he could likely advise on which to use so the sale can go through without getting locked for fraud. We were offended to be treated like scammers but nonetheless I kept a respectful tone, smiled while telling him she was in the middle of a move to explain different addresses as well as relaying that other Verizon reps said I could use my card to pay for her. Neither of us raised our voice at him so I don't understand why he treated us this way or what his problem was. He seemed unhappy before the interaction started. I get the feeling one of the more smiley reps there could've taken care of us and just start the application process all over and have us pick it up after the address mess was sorted. To get around this mess caused by the first two misleading reps, I could've just used my credit card instead at this location. Heck no. Not after this unwarranted rudeness! After that awful experience I just went to Best Buy to get her her Google Pixel 2 and activated her phone on Verizon no thanks to any of their people.
