Purchased a new iPhone online from Verizon. Drove to the V store at the Smithaven mall. I wanted to utilize the stores WiFi to pair my old iPhone with my new. The employee, (jerome, he said his name was), told me it would cost me $30, to use the wifi for this purpose. I just spent $1300 on a new phone as well as a much higher cost plan, and that's the service? I'll go back to just buying my phones from the Apple Store, as they are trained professionals. Went to this location between 3-3:30pm today, 2-15-26, to buy a screen protector. The girl made me scan a QR code and sent me, a customer, away to get one from inside the nearby mall to "save money". Would have been great had the guy inside the mall not been rude and said I'd have to order one anyway. Meaning I'd pay MORE for shipping. Had to go to another store all together just to buy a screen protector when I originally told the girl I wanted to buy one. Wish I'd read the other reviews before I went here. Horrendous customer service. I got two offers from Verizon to get a new device and a discount off my bill and I thought they were too good to be true, but manager Nick wrote on my receipt that they would be honored. He also wrote his name on the receipt and said to just come back if there were any problems, "which there shouldn't be." The promotions were not honored, and Verizon massively screwed up and tried to CHARGE me $650 rather than taking $650 off my bill. I went in to the store and they told me I had to call customer service. I did... 14 times!!! The phone customer service people told me this was a promise at the store level and I had to go back to the store. So I did, and spoke with Eduardo, who said that since Nick had only handwritten the guarantee, it didn't count. Literally telling me not to trust the written receipt from the manager. I left three messages for Nick: two in person and one by phone, and he never called back. They refused to fix anything and I had to call customer service again to get things solved-- which I finally did on my own, with the rep saying the whole time that she couldn't believe the store wouldn't fix their own problem. read more

Been to this Verizon Wireless Locations many times over the last 10 or so years when needing a new phone. In the past, while generally very busy, the sales reps were very helpful and was able to provide knowledgeable service. A couple of days ago I went to upgrade three phones. Well a rep, I think his name was Christian came to help us right away - so at first thought it was going to be another pleasant experience. Wrong! First off this guy was clueless about many things, including what information about each phone, promotion and service meant. He said to me several times "correct me if I'm wrong, I think this means ...." Or "I don't know what this is trying to say" and proceeded to show me his tablet to see if I could explain to him the definition of each item he didn't understand. Then it turns out we couldn't get our new phones that day because none of them were in stock, then he couldn't figure out how to set up our phone order because the phones weren't in stock, so he disappeared to the back room for a few minutes to speak to his supervisor. When he comes back, he uses my husband's phone to access the MyVerizon app to start placing an online order for the three phones, while doing so, he realized that even though my phone is 3/4 paid off and my daughter's is only 2/3 paid off, there wasn't a promo for me to trade in my old phone to get money back on it like there was hers. He couldn't figure out how to fix this, so he gave me an 800 number to call while in the store to see if they will give me the promotion for being a loyal customer for 15 years now. I thought this was odd that I had to call, and while I called instead of sticking around incase I needed information from him, he vanished to the back room again. I was on the phone working with a rep for a good 20 minutes, and during this time I noticed three other customers being taken care of by different sales associates had to do the same thing. My phone ended up getting ordered with the promotion with the phone rep I called, but he said to continue to work with the store sales associate to purchase the other two phones. So now, off the phone with sales rep, waited patiently 20 minutes for our sales associate to come back to the table, never reappeared. Tried going to the back room to find him, but couldn't find him. Waited 10 minutes more, then left. If this is what customers have to go through, what is the point in having physical stores and sales associates? Big Verizon store just outside the Smith Haven mall food court, Also near Fridays. This is one of the biggest Verizon stores i have been in. Finally decided on phone and service provider. Going to buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 And i am going to stay with Verizon service. I walked in to the store and right off the bat you are greeted by a store representative who is holding a ipad and takes your name and, And asks what you need today. Your name goes up on a screen into a que, and they take it customer by customer. System works very well. I waited maybe 5 minutes and they called my name, and the rep showed me the phones and went over the plans with me. Great all around store. read more

I walked in here on Black Friday because I was having issues with my phone. While I didn't really expect them to do anything since I had dropped it a month ago (no insurance on it), I really couldn't have walked out disappointed. Gave my name when I walked in, and walked straight back to the help desk. In less then a minute they were calling my name. Woo Hoo, a new record. The gentleman helping me, sorry no shout out as I forgot your name, took the time to listen to my issues, and they were many, and go over them one by one, though mostly unsuccessfully. Thought it was gonna be an easy visit because we knew exactly what we wanted. Waited a long time and then ordered the phone. The associate disappeared into the back for over half an hour. Finally came back with the phone and took payment and i asked if he could help with the case and glass because my hands don't work well because i have ms. He said "my hands don't work well because I'm lazy". Then he did the case for me. I asked if there was anything else i needed done to activate my phone and he said i could just log in to my Apple ID and it would do it automatically. WELL that's not what happened. My cell account is still linked to my old phone! I spoke with my brother who lives in Florida but is really smart. He said that the Verizon worker needed to change my SIM card to activate my phone. So now i need to do that myself because the associate was lazy. What more is there was an older woman with a flip phone who walked in and signed in right after me. This place just plain sucks. They upsell you on products by making guarantees they can't back. I bought a more expensive screen protector on the guarantee that they'd "replace it on the spot if it ever peeled up from the face of the phone, provided it was registered." That was a huge lie, and then the manager tried to tell me they don't do that, even though they've already done it once. So basically, they tell me I'm a liar when their salesman lied to me to get me to buy the more expensive screen protector. Also, it's impossible to spend less than an hour here. What a horrible place to shop. I happened in there the night of their in-store holiday party, so of course the sales person wanted nothing to do with me. He was short, abrupt and treated me like crap. I was determined to buy a new phone, but after going through the process, and being treated like an obstacle blocking him from a party, I returned the device. This was a big mistake. Not only was I hit with a restocking fee, but the guy screwed up my account, did not process paperwork and made sure that since he missed out on his commission, that I could not upgrade my phone any time soon. After over 2 weeks, over 10 hours of in-store and phone calls and horrible customer service all around, I finally got everything fixed. I GOT IT FIXED. The store was no help and I had to be on the phone daily with customer service to ensure the work was completed. Not only was I charged the restocking fee, but the trade in value of my phone went down over $45 dollars in that time. They also processed the return wrong and did not apply the money I used from a gift card properly, causing me to lose out on that money as well. Verizon as a company has made good on some of what was lost, but the overall experience has been horrible, the sales people told me I was "sh*it out of luck" when I asked them to fix their mistake and their "customer solutions" person was a nitwit. I will never buy a phone from them again and may switch to a new provider. I have never been so angry, insulted and attacked by a company. They need to fire that entire store and start over. If you plan to go there... good luck, but know that going to an Apple Store or Samsung Shop is a much better avenue. read more

This store continues to be the pinnacle of terrible service. I was forced to go, as my phone had some issues and was continually restarting. I arrived ten minutes after they opened (10:10) and put my name on the list for service. I then waited until 11:35 before they called me to the counter to provide their typical minimal assistance. Are you kidding me? Who makes their customers wait that long ? I could have driven to a store in Pennsylvania in that time. At least provide some damn seating. First, Let me say, I use Verizon for my most of my home services and my cell phone. I have been to this store twice, and both times I've had absolutely HORRIBLE encounters! I recently moved and this Verizon store was the closest. I needed to change my address, so I spoke to a gentlemen there, he brought me to a computer and was on it, No joke, for close to 20 minutes supposedly changing my address. My Next two bills were sent to my old address. I decided to call Verizon, they said nothing was changed and no notes were put onto my account. The call center took less than a minute to change my address. My next (AND LAST) time going to this store, is that I had been mailed a letter saying I have to verify my employment to get my work discount. It said to go to a store, bring a current paystub, I'd have to fill out a certain form and they will verify it with my company and fax it into corporate Verizon. I spoke to the Manager Mike and he said they had no clue what I was talking about, they claimed they didn't have any forms and that They couldn't do anything for it and to call Verizon. I called Verizon...AGAIN, they called and spoke with the Manager and the Manager flat out Lied to the rep from the call center saying that they gave me the form and helped me! After talking to Corporate, they ended up sending me to the Verizon store in East Northport on Jericho Turnpike in the Sears shopping center. The female manager there, gave me the form. I fill out the form, gave her the form and my paystub, it took her about 2 minutes to verify my employment, enter my info in her computer and fax it to corporate verizon! DO NOT GO TO THIS VERIZON STORE!!! Go to any other Verizon store or call Verizon directly. The workers (and apparently the management also) at this store are incompetent, lazy and lie through their teeth, just so they don't have to do a damn thing...and get paid to do it! Female Sales Associate (with many tattoos) told us about a 'Special Deal' Verizon was doing-- For only $20 a month more we could upgrade our 5 iPhones to an Unlimited Data Plan. At first we said NO, but since we paid $15 overage fess on a few months, she said "it was a no brainer". We signed up for the plan only to see next month's bill had the additional $20 for the unlimited plan, AND our 5 lines went from $20 a month to $45 a month. The only reason I added a second star to the review was for the Verizon Wireless Rep (on the phone) who credited our account the extra $$$ and switched us back to our original plan, with his apologies. read more

Every time I have gone into the store the wait has been ridiculous, which is why I went to Best Buy next time I had to get a new phone. Verizon sucks. I had to literally pull teeth to finally get the promised BOGO promotion credit applied to my account. Went to customer service about reactivating a phone. Our guy was not the least bit enthusiastic about being there. Did not smile (had a mopey annoyed face the whole visit and definitely had no problem showing it) & carried the same sad annoyed tone of voice everytime he talked. We were there for about 35-40 mins. We just sat and waited and waited and waited without a word for about 25min after the guy just hid behind the counter and was messing with the phone. If I could give zero stars I would. Let's start from the beginning: I ported over my phone number from AT&T to Verizon about a year and a half ago. (Worst mistake of my life!) when I received my new phone (in this store) all seemed fine- I was happy, customer service was great- friendly staff -- a long wait but that was to be expected. I was there during a promotion that you get a free tablet when you open a new line... (Side note: it's not free!) I later found out I was paying 10$ a month for the next two years for that "free" tablet. When I called customer service to complain they said they would gladly take it back for a restocking fee of 75/80$ (don't quote me on the exact #) the best part- I tried to deny the tablet multiple times since I knew I wouldn't use it-- but it was pushed on me so much I finally just took it because they said it was "free"-- first mistake. I started using my new iPhone-- noticing I was having issues with the charge, I kept trying to charge it and the charger wasn't working- i replaced the charger close to 30 times before I was at my breaking point - I was pregnant with my second child at the time and unable to get to the store so I had friends & family constantly dropping off new chargers on their way to visit. When I finally arrived at the store they said it was a defective phone and they would gladly replace it.. I was happy to hear they were doing the right thing! ---- and then the phone came in the mail.. It was a refurbished phone with nicks all around the edges.. I was so upset! I paid for a new phone not a refurbished phone! They didn't give me the difference- if the broken phone was my fault I would understand but this wasn't the case! I got a defective phone and then to cover it up the replaced it with a used phone! Continuing on they refused to reimburse me the difference of a new phone from a refurbished phone and I bit my tongue because I just needed a phone that worked. Although, the phone wasn't working.. It Droped 8/10 calls... I was on the phone with tech support constantly- they always took me down the same road.. They tried replacing a SIM card.. And that's as far as I got. Finally the phone just stopped working all together. No warning- just completely unresponsive! I had enough !! I called Verizon for the 10th time regarding the endless issues and they said the best they could do for me is let me sign a new two year contract early! (Are these people kidding?- they haven't even got me a working phone for my first contract and they want me to sign a new contract now?! HA OKAY!) they finally agreed to sending me ANOTHER refurbished phone. I opened it up, charged it and turned it on.. The phone had water damage! Seriously? I called them right away... They said they could do nothing for me- and at this point they are not willing to send me a refurbished phone again because when I return the phone they recently sent me (the one with water damage) that I would be billed 299$ for the water damaged phone-- really people?! I asked to speak with a supervisor... After 30 minuets of arguing with the lady about how he (the supervisor) would not get on the phone with me-- he finally did. He offered me nothing- his only solution was for me to sign a new contract to receive a new phone- I want a working phone from the first contract I signed! He said he could not help. When I asked for his bosses information and to speak with his manager he said he would pass along the message and it would take at least 36 hours to hear from him! Needless to say I am not giving them anymore of my time. My phone hasn't worked from day 1, they have been sneaking and misleading the entire time. I pay $112 every month for an unworkable phone. I am canceling my service.. Did I mention I was hung up on more than once? Don't waste your time- they are crooks. read more

They opened 35 minutes ago and I walked in the door and I'm number six online and they told me he would be a 45 minute wait. What a nightmare. I went in yesterday with my brother to get dad his first smartphone (iPhone 6 plus) for Christmas and told the salesman, we think his name was Jon by the way, that this phone is a PRESENT and we wanted our dad to be able to activate it himself on Christmas or so and not to activate it on the spot. Jon said this shouldn't be a problem (which wasn't convincing, so I made it very clear it was important in case he needed help from someone). Then today my dad called Verizon because his phone wasn't working and was told what was going on and that reactivating his flip-phone would be $30. What the f$&@, Verizon. For the past 2 years I have had a prepaid smartphone that was purchased through Verizon. Last week I went into the store to purchase a new Iphone 6s. I mentioned to the salesperson that I had just paid the $48 prepaid phone bill 4 days earlier and I was very annoyed to learn that Verizon would not give me credit for that $48!!! They offered me a credit only if I purchased another product like a tablet. Since I wasn't purchasing any other product that $48 was simply lost. I spoke to the Store Manager but it did no good. You would think a big multi million dollar Company like Verizon would credit an established customer for something that was paid only 4 days earlier. Shame on Verizon. Well, I went to this location today to purchase an iPhone. All I wanted was to walk in, buy my iPhone outright and walk out, and for the most part that was accomplished. HOWEVER, here is where my experience went south. I currently have an awesome plan with Verizon that they no longer sell. its 24gb of uncapped speed date, with an additional 50% due to fios bundle AND rollover data. I burn through data because im always on the run commuting and what not so I use all of it. My plan is $5 less than the unlimited plan, which technically isn't "unlimited" because after 20-22gb's are used they cap your speed (no thanks.) So while purchasing my phone the sales person asked if I would like to pay 5$ more a month to move to unlimited... I said no thanks, and explained I don't want my speeds capped after 20gbs. I live in a high traffic area so it wouldn't work for me. No issues, get my phone and then am about to leave when his manager comes over. Again, tries to pitch me on the unlimited data plan. No thanks I tell him again. Tries to explain it to me as if I don't know what it is, which ok, we haven't talked so I get it, but still I don't want it. I leave the store, and not a minute later I have receive a text message from Verizon that 12gb/month has been removed from my data plan?!?! Um WHAT? I get home, check my email, and now I also have been signed up to be billed 13.99/month for a total mobile protection plan! WHICH I WAS NOT SOLICITED NOR DID I EVER AGREE TO. THATS ILLEGAL BUSINESS PRACTICE. So I call up Verizon wireless customer service, and spend a solid 45 minutes having the nice women revert all the bulls*t changes that "miraculously" happened to my account. Coincidence that the second I purchase the phone and don't agree to their data plan changes/sales pitch my account which has never had an issue before gets altered? I think not.
