The store got a one only because I couldn't give it less than a one. I went in to get a phone for my daughter and the sales person upgraded me etc. I left paying $350 when I walked out of the store. To my surprise, my first bill came in for another $350. It was for charges that were duplicative and thought I had already paid. there was an Upgrade in plan services, which I did not ask for. insurance plans which I did not ask for. I was specific that I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and needed to keep the cost down. I was quoted that my monthly bill would be $125. So in less than two months, I was billed $700 for two phones. Thank God for Verizon corporate customer service. They were able to at least get this months bill down to $267. Additionally, my monthly bill is now about $170. Beware this is a place that lacks integrity and will definitely sell you whatever they can mislead you into buying. read more

SCAMMY SALES GUY. I don't even know where to begin. We wish we would have stayed with t mobile. A sales guy named BJ helped us when we came in, he made it seem like he had our best interest and was appearing to be helpful. We told him we only had an hour and he said we would be done with the switch by then. We agreed to the price point after negotiations. He said we would only be charged for taxes (the biggest lie, I'll come back o this part.) I asked him if we got the phone cases with the phones and he said yes (lied). He said he would help us transfer our information (didn't tell us there was a charge). After reminding him at the 45 min mark that we needed to go in 15 minutes he then became flustered and mentioned it would take at least another 45 minutes to complete everything. My husband was not happy as he assured us the whole process would only take an hour. By this time he had disconnected our phones and we had no cell service now. We mentioned that we would have to come back later to finish and he wasn't happy. My husband paid $500 for "taxes" and he left, that felt like an excessive amount of taxes so when I returned later that night a extremely nice gentlemen that I unfortunately can't remember his name but he should receive the money that was scammed to us by BJ. **IMPORTANT PART Anyways I asked for the itemized bill and that's when I was shocked. He charged us for the phone cases and the chargers, the transferring of the phones, the screen protector for the phones were $50 WTF.. Overall BJ provided a horrible experience and the only redeeming part about it was the other sales guy let me return some of the stuff and he was so helpful to put the phone together and offered us the switcher credit. BJ should be fired unless Verizon's wants this type of employee on their staff. read more

This location doesn't seem to know what they are doing, and the manager is less then helpful. We purchased several devices and had problems with them. I have made multiple trips and spent several hours there each time to get my issue resolved and still nothing was fixed. I had to call the manager over to help when he should have come over himself when he noticed the new employee struggling but he chose to sit around and play on his phone. No personality at all in this manager either. Never once talked to me but talked to the employee in front of me like I wasn't even there. I would stay as far away as possible from this store. I switched from sprint to Verizon because I was told the customer service was much better. I rather pay a little extra money knowing that I will be treated right. Unfortunately I can not say that for Sales Representative, Brik. He made me feel like I was just a transaction, he wasn't clear with what the additional fees were, he didn't mail the SIM card for the 3rd line and yet I was being charged for that line and would not return my calls. I expect to be treated with respect and to have the common courtesy of following up with your new customers and making sure things are done correctly from beginning to end. It's a shame that I had to visit another store and contact Verizon directly to assist me with these concerns. The customer service at the Providence Road location and the Verizon Customer Service over the phone were able to solve my issues. I will not be returning to this store. read more

Wow. I've been a Verizon customer for almost 11 years now and I was very disappointed by the lack of customer service I received today by a particular rep. I did not get his name unfortunately. This is a newer location close to my home and I was excited to finally upgrade to a newer phone. However, I ultimately changed my mind on doing so at this store because of the sales rep I encountered. Perhaps I expect more bc I was a sales rep for 6 years and I can see thru the B-S, but I think most folks would have felt a similar level of annoyance based on the exchange. This was an easy sale for him. A cake walk. I was about to spend whatever $ to upgrade my phone and all the necessary accessories including a car charger, phone case and screen cover because I was ready to do so. Of course I'm not aware of their commission structure, but it's fair to assume he would have made $ on the sale. Positives-Store was clean, new, and well set up. My mom worked with a pleasant, friendly sales rep the day prior so I know they do have good reps working there. Negatives-Rep I worked with today never attempted to inquire/learn about my need as a customer. That's sales 101 my friends. He was more interested in spouting out the bells and whistles about the droid than actually listening to his customer. I could care less about a super duper top of the line pimped out phone-I've been using my LG for years now without a front that works properly, but to me, a phone is just a phone and it was time to upgrade to a basic newer phone with the credit I had. I asked several times for a comparison between the iphone 4 and the droid. He did give basic differences which I appreciated. I learned that you don't get to service your iphone at Verizon stores, you have to go to the apple store. That was a helpful piece of information. However, when I asked about accessories and details about a screen cover he stared at me blankly and sarcastically responded "it's a screen cover." He lost the sale there. Obviously I'm competent enough to know it's a screen cover, I was asking about other features it offered and the different ones available. He also wouldn't give my Mom and I space/time to review the info ourselves, he hovered the entire time. Perhaps I just caught him on bad day, but I was taken aback by his approach, clear sales pitches and dis-ingenious nature. I will be going to a different location to upgrade, but I did not feel listened to or valued as a customer today with him. read more

Spent a good 3-5 minutes looking at iPhones, another 5 minutes looking at Samsung, then more time at the accessories, tablets... and oh, did I mention that literally NO employee whatsoever greeted me, approached me, asked if I needed help, or even ACKNOWLEDGED that I was there. My husband and I went here at 7:30 on a Monday to upgrade my Droid X2 to a white Iphone 5. I knew I wanted that particular phone so I called earlier to see if they had any (which they did) and to find out what time they closed (9pm). I figured going to a stand-alone location in Ballantyne would be pretty easy, you know just walk in, grab the phone, and leave. That is what we did, we just had to wait over an hour to even be seen by anyone! I just thought the wait was ridiculous. After about 40 minutes we were offered a soda, but who wants that at 8:15 at night? We were then told we would be seen shortly. Shortly was 20 minutes later. I understand they had difficult customers who couldn't make up their mind and had to be talked through the phone buying process. But really? I hope we were an exception. The sales person who we finally did see was very nice, and he apologized for the wait. We had my new phone in hand and paid for in about half an hour. ** Just a side note though because I have not had an upgrade in a couple of years, but does anyone else know about/think is crazy that Verizon now charges $30 to upgrade? Even if the phone is free you still get charged $30 on your next bill. I think it's stupid and plan on calling customer service to see if I can get this taken off. Buyer beware, this is not a Verizon store. They are an independent retailer so if anything goes wrong, Verizon cannot and will not intervene. Big issue. I have always dealt with the corp verizon store until they closed this winter. So I tried this location. If I could give it zero stars I would. They promised my rate would be the same with my upgrade due to all the "trade in" credits. This was not the case. My fault for not looking at the numbers more closely. All the sales people at this location are trained to do a shell game on you. I have been a verizon customer for several decades and do like the service I get from Verizon, but this location ripped me and my husband off. My advice - look at everything. My initial "new" bill was over 200.00 more than the last month, Once I got my "regular" bill and it ended up being 60.00 (for 2 years) more a month, our sales person promised to look over the bill which I sent to him in December. Guess What....still waiting to hear back. They told us things that were not true about our account and completely scammed us. Buyer Beware for sure. They will smile and be nice while pulling money from you the whole time. Nothing but bait and switch from the staff. I will never step foot in that store again and my advice is to stay away. read more

There were four employees, none of them acknowledged that I was there or even said they would be right with me. Horrible experience. Apparently I purchased a faulty phone in August, 2016. When I tried to contact the salesperson the next day, whom I will call B and who has the smallest hands I have ever seen on a human adult, he never returned my calls. B never informed me that the phone was in fact financed. When I tried to replace the faulty phone yesterday, I had to pay off the balance of $450 which I did not know existed, before I could get a new phone. read more

I swung into this location the other day to buy an iPhone for my Mother-in--Law. It's her first smartphone, ever. I arrived just after opening and sat down immediately with an employee, John. Anyway, we discussed what we wanted to purchase, that I wanted to change our family share plan to accommodate her new smartphone rather than the original basic phone, etc. He made the process seamless and found the phone I wanted, even though it showed to be only one in stock and it was nowhere to be found. John quickly uncovered where it was hidden, set it up and made the requested changes to our plan. I was in and out quickly, and with a toddler in tow, this can be a great thing. I am giving this one star because giving no stars is not an option! This store is absolutely awful. We bought two phones from. The salesman was nothing more than a used car salesman who insisted on calling us "bro" over and over. He then proceeded to upcharge us for several things without disclosure! We asked him on multiple occasions about any additional fees. He then proceeded to charge us $15 for each phone as a "set up" fee. He added insurance to both phones WITHOUT disclosing this. He also added $40 screen protectors! After calling Verizon directly, we learned these things were added on. The total bill that he quoted was off by $100 per month! Net net, I ended up being dinged (missing) $35 in a credit to my Amex on a return, and when I inquired about this, was told I was charged a "restocking fee" "per their policy" which is total BS in my instance. The customer service (or lack thereof) is pitiful at this location. I called Corporate and they explained this is NOT one of their corporate stores - but were gracious enough to credit my account immediately for the $35 - and indicated I should always shop at a corporate store. I went in today after I had gotten off work to see if there was anything they could do about my phone. I was already in a bad mood since the phone I had was broken and not able to update from 4.1 to 4.4(hardware defect I later found out), I also had to stay on the phone for an hour while tech support told me something I already knew, that they would have to send a replacement. Received my replacement today as well but the phone(out of the box) would not stop rebooting(Verizon had sent me a defective referb in the mail), Anyway, I go into the store to get assistance for my phone and the agent(forget his name,black male, bald head, large-heavy set) doesn't even get out of his chair to greet me, I have to come over to him. In addition, his coworker at the time was too busy playing on the company computer to even acknowledge my existence( the only time he did was when I threatened to go to another phone provider since the lack of care for my issue was so apparent only for him to tell me that the INS company Verizon uses for their phones is used by everyone else so it would be no point to change). The other agent who was handling my phone seemed very knowledgeable about the hardware he was paid to support. I knew he was not very tech savvy when he attempted to hard shutdown my phone only to trigger the photo snap. In addition, he seemed very unwilling to go the extra mile to support my issue or even show sympathy for the inconvenience I've been through up to this point, the only thing he offered was to contact customer support for a new phone, he didn't even have the courtesy to do it there at the store, which another store agent at an entirely other store did( after I left that horrible disgrace for customer service). No wonder that place was empty when I got there, no one wants to be treated like that. I plan on going back just so I can get the name of the two agents and report them and Verizon to the BBB for such horrible customer service to a long time paying customer. read more

I went to the verizon store to get a new ph for my son plus to fix a problem on my phone! Staff was very cold and semingly not intrested....no options of deals were presented. They wanted us to quickly get done and leave....when i asked about the problem with my phone, i was told that since the phone wasnt purchased through them ( despite me having a verizon account) they couldnt help me!! I absolutely despise this place and the people who have "helped" me here. Buyer beware: this is a Verizon *Retailer* parading as a real Verizon store. Yeah, it's a thing- I had no idea. If you sign a contract with them, Verizon Corporate cannot help you. I went in unaware of this to simply take my phone out of my parents' name and put it into my own. My first experience was with a salesperson who was eating his dinner at his desk when we walked in and attempted to avoid talking to us even though he was the only person available. I sat there for an hour while he acted like he had no idea what he was doing, and had to take off work the next day to come back and attempt again. No resolution and missed two hours of work. So I returned a THIRD time. None of that makes me as angry as my encounter with Brik. Upon signing the contract I was given a "jet pack" and Brik told me that it came with my plan. I inquired what it was used for (still not really sure months later) and told him I didn't need it. No worries, it comes with your plan. OK- this is where I get furious. My bill came and I am being charged $10 extra per month for this box that I didn't ask for! I called Verizon customer service and they argued that I had bought a tablet and that's what the charge was for. ??? I don't own a tablet but they were insistent. That was another clue to me that corporate has no insight into these cellular sales places. I called Brik and he told me it was impossible to remove the jet pack cost because I had already signed the contract. Well even after me telling you I didn't want or need it originally, you insisted that it was just part of the plan. You did not inform me that I would have an extra monthly charge on my bill. I was told that the store manager would contact me but he never did. My next step was to go by the Verizon Corporate store to see if they could help me. They rolled their eyes when I told them what had happened. They informed me these 3rd party retail stores have a reputation for swindling unwitting customers into contracts and regrettably there was nothing I could do except wait for the contract to run out and count it as a lesson learned. This is despicable customer service. Instead of doubling down and getting an attitude because of my outrage over your deception you should consider if losing a customer over $10 a month worth it to your business. But you probably hate your job, so it doesn't matter. Can't wait for this contract to end. read more
