I have been a Protection One customer for over 11 years and have had a positive experience until…read morenow! I was in the market for security cameras and called Protection One for a consult. A third party company representative came by on Sept18th, 2014 to provide a consult. I ordered 4 cameras and the DVR. I was told the cameras needed to be ordered and would take 7-10 days to come in. I was also told I must provide a 60% down payment. Ridiculous! But I made my down payment anyway. 7-10 days to get the cameras became 3 weeks. During the 3 weeks there was little to no communication from the sales person on the status of the camera order and a date to schedule my install. I had to proactively call and hunt down the sales person several times to get any update. When the cameras and the install date finally arrived, ~6 weeks from my original order date of Sept 18th, the cameras were not what I ordered. I was then told the next available install date was another week and a half away. This experience was a frustrating and painful one. I did not feel like I was treated as a valued, loyal, and good standing 11 year customer. Protection One should have performance reviews with their third parties who are interacting with their customers and representing them in a less than favorable light. I immediately cancelled my order with the third party salesperson and I'm actively looking for other vendors to install my security cameras.

These people came in five years ago and set up our system, claiming we had all of these technological issues from the previous owners and that they had a solution to fix it -- Control 4. They hooked our sonos, apple tv, cable, and pool controls to this app. They got rid of our regular fios cable remote and replaced it with a control 4 remote and had us download the control 4 app. This worked fine for a few years, but then there started to be problems. At first, they were responsive and came by to help. But then, they stopped returning our calls. The control 4 app stopped working so we couldn't control our pool. Our cable view is completely zoomed in and cuts off the edge of the frame but since we don't have the Fios remote anymore, we can't fix it, and since they won't answer our calls or emails, they won't fix it. Our TV randomly flickers like strobe lights. The remote works half the time. The TV really only functions as an apple TV because of how badly they messed up the cable connection. If they called us back and fixed the issues, I wouldn't have a problem with their complicated set up. No other company wants to touch what they've done. If you've used them already, good luck if you run into any problems. I hope they answer your calls. We are still desperately looking for any IT company or person willing to help dig us out of this tangled mess untangled created.
