I recently switched to Verizon because their service continuously got worse and worse. It seemed like they were throttling my internet down whenever they wished. I would call them and complain and then suddenly my internet service would noticeably improve. After I switched to Verizon they had already scheduled a payment to come out of my bank account the following month. I figured they would cancel the scheduled payment and didn't give it another thought,but that wasn't the case. They took the scheduled payment anyway which left me with a credit of around $80. I called them and asked them when I would receive my refund and they informed me that I would receive a prepaid card in the mail that is accepted everywhere. Well needless to say this sent me through the roof. Why should I have to deal with a prepaid card? I need to put this money back in my bank account not use it to buy something. I guess it was really convenient for them to deduct my bill from my bank account but very inconvenient for me to have to deal with a prepaid card when it comes to my refund. THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!!! They are basically forcing me to spend my refund instead of redepositing the funds back into my bank account. VERY PISSED OFF!!!!!! I will never do business with US Cellular again and I would suggest others avoid this business

I work for a large cable company and you do not tell paying customers that it's their equipment. You get off your butt and come and check the lines. Your customer service people pass the buck and they are inconsiderate of paying customers.

I have had numerous issues with the stores and personnel/management at the Charlottesville stores. I had just switched from an iPhone back to an Android and was having some issues that I couldn't fix. I went in and spoke to a lady named Tiara (unbeknownst to me she was the manager) and she was awesome! Answered all my questions and took the time to make sure that I knew everything I needed to know. I thought this level of customer service at Verizon was gone. I was so happy to get the answers I needed and leave with problems corrected instead of me having to worry about how I was going to fix them on my own. I highly recommend this store, ask for Tiara, and I am sure her staff is well qualified too. After the way I was treated in the Charlottesville stores it is worth the 30-minute drive for me to go to the Waynesboro store and speak to people who really want to help me when I am having an issue or needing to upgrade my phone(s). He said everything are "In the clouds" So I told him I wanted it disconnected that day.He assured me it would be. Well after calling every single month from from Dec. 2025 until April 2026.I went in April and talked to a woman who was not very friendly sitting in the desk on the right, had me in tears. All she could say was "You can leave now". She acted like she was not sure what she should do.So Dec. 2025 I paid $82.20 for one phone that worked, Jan. 2026 $82.18 for one working phone,Feb $112.50 for one working phone, $73.03 for one phone working. So April 3rd is when I went in to talk to the "uncaring" person who said I could leave now because I had tears rolling down my face, I told her to disconnect BOTH phones. They had been cheating me long enough. I even wrote a letter to Verizon about the trouble I have had and I even wrote a check to pay Aprils bill and told them do not take it out of my CC or checking acc. They did any way so I had to pay $35.00 to stop payment on the automatic payment on my check. My husband and I had been with them for 25 years or more and always had automatic payment. I wish I had never been with them after seeing hundreds and more of complaints about them. Thank you

    This is the laziest most unknowledgeable store I have ever been to. This store does not care about…read morehelping you, just about selling products. I wish I had read reviews about them before going in, but I will NEVER use this store again. I wanted to trade in my S8 for a S24. I paid them to transfer the data from my old phone to my new phone. As they were doing the transfer they told me I had too many photos and it would take a long time to do the transfer. They asked me if I wanted to finish the transfer at home. I said sure because I'd already waited an hour for them to do the transfer and it wasn't even halfway done. They showed me how to do the transfer at home, but did not tell me I would need to bring the phone back to get the trade in deal, and I left. This mess up was on me, because I should not have left when I paid for them to finish the transfer. When I went back within the hour because I could not figure out how to get the phones to transfer they told me the transfer had been completed. But when I left they told me it was not done... Do they not know when the transfers are done? Not sure where the miscommunication happened on that one. When I got home my Verizon account said I owed $800. I specifically told the sales associate multiple times that I wanted a phone that would be free with my trade in. After driving back to the store and asking why my account said I owed $800 when I told them I wanted a phone that would be free to me, they then explained that it would remain on my account until I traded in my old phone. Why did no one tell me this when I left with my two phones?? Then, after getting the phone my google started saying I had no available storage. My email is saying I will stop receiving emails in a week. The problem is I have deleted stuff in my Google drive 3 times and it still keeps coming back. I was hoping they could help me with that, but I should have known better than to expect an ounce of care from this store. I learned through the Verizon in Waynesboro that when the Staunton Verizon turned on my phone's backup to transfer things from my old phone to my new phone they transferred EVERYTHING, not just the photos. I then went back to the Staunton store, explained the problems I was having with storage, and all the sales associate I spoke with told me was "that's run through google, we don't know how to do that." I responded with "A Verizon sales associate doesn't know how to turn off backup on a phone?" He responded with "That is run through Google." When I tell you these people are doing the bare minimum I'm not kidding. They also signed me up for Disney Plus and other services without telling me I would have to pay after the first month. If you want people who actually know what they're doing, because clearly the sales associates in Staunton are just there to do the BARE minimum and get as much money out of you as possible, I recommend Verizon in Waynesboro, VA. They actually took the time to try and help me. If there was an option to give 0 stars I would.

    Found this place by Google Map search and/or Yelp as I didn't want to take my phone to Verizon (why…read moreI'm not sure now). A couple months later, fairly sure that wasn't the better decision. To be fair, I messed up my HTC10 somehow; I think moderately wet hands cause my screen to start not registering touches in vertical bar patterns. After dealing with this for a few months and it not getting any better, I thought maybe just the screen needed to be replaced. Again, to be fair it's possible more needed to be replaced. So I went in and asked about a screen replacement and noted my general problem. I was more led down the line of how much my phone was still worth almost as if to say if I wanted to sell it, though ultimately noting that it was worth repairing. I put down the first half of the cost and came back a couple days later after the part was ordered online from a random supplier of phone parts. An hour or so later I came back with my phone all put back together, paid the rest of the cost and went on my way. Over the next day or so the "new" screen started to have some dead spots and continually got worse over the next few months until now where it's pretty much useless. Again, it's possible something else in the screen was damaged and a new screen just put a band-aid on it. However, I don't believe it was well repaired as over the last couple of months when a spot or section went bad, some good jiggling or tapping of the phone would get it working again. As well, even from the start, the "home" button in the bottom center was not well placed back in and was offset from where it should be. Also noticed I was fairly easily able to slide in a business card or thin paper between the screen and metal body to try to reseat the "home" button. So, the repair didn't come back looking like new and to me wasn't a good quality repair. It might be more of my issue, but I struggled to stop by this place with the way the hours are set and ran out of my 14 days from repair to take it back in at no cost (at least according to the receipt). I called once in there and left a message only to never have it returned, I could have been more persistent, but I don't have time for that. I only give a 2nd star here as at least the work is done in house and with decent looking equipment. Maybe it was just that I had an off phone (I think HTC10s aren't too popular) so if you've got an iPhone or an easier repair it'll work for you. But for me, it didn't work and I don't think the quality of the work was very good.

They lied at the store about final bills. Verizon lied. They can't be trusted, no matter how friendly they are as people. Filed a BBB and FCC complaint this morning.

It's true they are just a bunch of kids working there...STILL WORST RETAIL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Bad enough the account couldn't be set up correctly the 1st time..or 2nd time....bad enough I had to go in 5 times, but THEN the manager there became NASTY & RUDE..making comments like, "you need to just go back to your old carrier" & "this is not worth me wasting my time in" & "YOU are the problem, not the system" (presumably because I insisted on having it done correctly. I wouldn't have had to return there for correction if they could have fixed it the 1st or 2nd time, but seriously, who would NOT be unhappy after the 5th time????) & "you need to take your stuff & leave...I never want to see you again". Although I did not engage in ad hominem attacks...apparently the manager there was unable to resolve everything WITHOUT TURNING IT PERSONAL. Shameful behavior on the part of the manager there. I'm sad to write this review...but the truth is the truth.
