    Joe Z.

I need to preface that in general the moving industry seems to have gone severely downhill since even the major carriers like Mayflower have negative reviews. So while talking to some random broker we somehow got transferred to another broker which was Verified Moving pros. The salesman talked very smooth and friendly, he could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves. He said a semi-truck was going to be unloading in the next state over and it was perfect timing if we booked now before someone else booked it. Based on what we currently had packed and listed and described over the phone (they don't come to your house), he quoted us $6800 to move 2,000 miles across the country so we put our $2500 down. A week before our move they went over the latest list which added maybe a dozen boxes, 6 plastic bins and a couple pieces of furniture and it somehow jumped to $12k which we were obviously very upset at feeling duped (and already committed after putting our deposit down). We felt like we had no choice but to move forward. The breakdown showed $5k just for the movers so not sure how it was ever going to be $1800 to move anything 2,000 miles across the country. So we waited for our 24-48 hour phone call before the movers were to show up, and when 24 hours came we started calling. They assured us the movers would show up. Then the next morning we got a call directly from the movers saying one of the movers were going to be late so they wouldn't be showing up until between 1-4pm. They ended up showing up at nearly 6pm which meant it was going to be a late night. They showed up with two twenty five foot U-haul trucks, and my first thought was "uhh, so we're going to pay double for fuel?". We would find out later that they use local U-haul trucks just to get your stuff loaded, and your stuff would be transferred to other trucks along the way (who knows how many times, could be a new truck every state line for all we know). This is NOT what the salesguy said, in fact the only reason we chose them is because we weren't keen with other movers talking about transferring stuff from truck to truck during the movie. We had shrink wrapped a few of the smaller cabinets that had stuff in them, but I left things like the tool box, portable kitchen island and other furniture unwrapped (because their own contract said the movers would bring all the supplies to pack). In total I think there was 4-5 movers that showed up but only 2 showed up on time so the others got sent home. One dude showed up who wasn't even part of the movers, he was a friend of the movers and just hung around our house which felt very odd. They packed the boxes into the truck first, very loosely and not very high which got me worried they were packing light on purpose. Only after complaining did they start to stack better, though I still think they overestimated the volume (there was no way it was nearly 3,000 cubic feet of stuff). As they got down to the furniture, rather than professionally wrapping it as promised, they started grabbing spare boxes, tape and shrink wrap leftover from us packing (that's right, they brought ZERO packing supplies). They were taping cutup boxes around our 100 year old cabinet, sticking tape to very old furniture. Then they started taking out our kitchen island (mind you we moved it into our house ourselves without issue), and though it was tight they couldn't figure out how to get it out of the door. When they finally got it through (poking a hole into our wooden door frame), the one guy slipped and let go of it, letting it crash to the ground and busting the door off. My wife flipped out because it was designed by me and custom made by the amish. They commented "oh it can be fixed easily with glue". When that piece finally did arrive at our destination, two more drawers were broken, and the butcher block top had gouges everywhere and shoe prints all over it like they just shoved it however they felt like inside the truck (completely unwrapped, because again they didn't bring any supplies). We started leaving items behind because we were worried about how much this was going to cost us. When the trucks were finally packed, we thought the worse (and we were right). The $12k quote over the phone? Our quote was now $22k for the move (even while with-holding items). Again, what choice do we have? Movers have all our stuff in trucks, couldn't say no now. Good thing we over budgeted for this move, I don't know if the average person could stomach $22k to move their stuff. see photos for full review

Being forced to pay an additional $1300, to load the truck with my boxes or they'll be left in the street.

This location is one of the only places in Southern Florida that would work...or so it seems. I visited the property 3 times before I actually met a live human being. No posted "Office hours" on the door. Just a phone number. I called it, left 2 vm's over 2 days with nobody calling me back. Customer service on the phone is basically zero help. I never got a customer service agent on the phone where english is their 1st language. The 4th time, I met Melissa and said (From just looking from outside) that I wanted to rent one of the biggest enclosed spaces they had since it had 2 roll up doors. One would easily fit my 10.5 foot camper in as the rollup bay door was at least 14 feet high. She told me they are all currently occupied, no vacancy and there is a waiting list. I asked her to please put me on a waiting list. Flash-forward to Sunday September 1st; My wife & I are trying to eat brunch at First Watch during a heavy downpour. Food was wasted as I was trying to download and electronically sign a contract fast so I wouldn't lose the property. I had to go across the street to an Embassy Suites, log on to their common computer in the business center, open up my email, download, then electronically sign. Great. I got the unit...Only $916.00/Month! Hey, beggars can't be choosers. The price stung. A lot. I visited the property on Monday September 2nd (Labor Day) to scope out the unit (#1507) and plan for storage. 2 hours later after going back and forth between Melissa and "Customer Service" on the phone with multiple calls and attempts at merging my other units I have rented finally succeeded. I got into the unit @ 1:30pm At first I thought I was ripped off; Broken light fixtures that were smashed on the walls, both roll up doors; the powered 14-footer and manual roll up doors had all their brackets & fittings rusted. The motor strained to open an close the 14 foot door. The door began jerking on the way down, got stuck, then dropped @ a foot, then finished it's travel. So I went to Home Depot and bought a spray can of garage door track lube and squirted a heavy amount into both roll up door tracks. The doors don't have rollers. Only rusted metal plates that "Slide" in the tracks. I know from past experience that if the entire motor housing is shaking and the door is binding, it's not going to be too long when the door becomes inoperative. My luck, it'll be after 6pm when absolutely nobody is around and my unit would be left unsecured. The unit from the ouside looks like it's a straight shot from front to back. Incorrect. The unit is angled on the interior at 45 degrees. So the smaller rollup door, I cannot get my GMC Yukon out of without stripping the paint off the car, or bashing the door opening sides. The positive SHOULD have been that there was a breaker box with 50 amp service, 2 x 110v outlets that I could have plugged my camper into to keep the batteries charged up. But NO. "NO electricity will be brought into any unit" Says so in their contract too. I said..."But the service is already there". Melissa said, "No, It doesn't work". WOW Friggin buzzkill. I couldn't sleep last night because I was fuming about how much I was paying for a crappy unit that wasn't taken care of. I decided today, 4 days after renting this useless thing that I would be cancelling my contract and finding something...anything else. I also felt completely ripped off. I DID find something else...not enclosed, but covered...at half the price 12.5 x 45 feet long. Steel roof and cover along WITH POWER!!! I went back today to remove a small amount of wheels, spare brake parts and some construction tools I just put there 2 days ago and said to the man working there I wish to cancel my storage. Guess what! NO MONEY REFUNDED. He also stated since I'm paid up until October, I may as well use the storage. NO THANK YOU. I apparently am entitled to not 1 cent back for the 4 days. Mostly I paid for aggravation...VERY EXPENSIVE aggravation. This company, it's business model, the "Section 8" vibe and the way customers are handled completely suck.

I was planning on taking lots of items over myself but I was so impressed with their ease and detailed packing I had them move everything. The owner himself reached out after the move to make sure I was happy and satisfied with everything. I greatly appreciated that, and will recommend them to any friends in the future and will absolutely use them again in the future if needed. For this last move, we were not able to make it back into town but we had to be out of our house for closing. We had our Realtor meet the movers and let them in. Jim called me from our house and did a facetime call a d walked through with his guys and they packed everything in the cabinets , the dishes , our clothes , and everything. They moved everything out and put in a storage unit. He mailed me the keys to the unit and attached a nice thank you note. Makes us feel appreciated as a customer. He is more polished than your average mover and just an all around good guy with good workers and a good company.
