Wonderful place for breakfast - from coffee, baked goods and dishes. The Turkish eggs were easily our favorite. Will come back again! Self seating- limited indoor and outdoor. If it was any busier would have needed to do takeout

This was the star of our trip. We drove from Cape Cod specifically to experience VL. What a gem. Tucked away on a cutie pie street in an equally cutie pie town. The setting is bucolic and VL is the bomb. Inside, the bakers are creating amazing sweet and savory treats. I honestly cannot remember what our treats were called but they were divine. My partner had Turkish eggs and this fluffy bread. Don't ask, just GO. Mad love for VL.

I read about this place on a blog and knew we were going to be staying in nearby Middlebury. The bakery was like being transported to Europe. Minimalist but just enough to let the breads and baked goods stand out. We came for breakfast so I went out on a limb and ordered the Turkish eggs--two Poached eggs over labne with mint, dill, with a sauce of allepo pepper, garlic butter, ground rose petals, sumac and smoked salt served with a wood fired sourdough pita. It was a thing of beauty and the flavores were like nothing I'd had before. I had a Viennoise coffee which had strands of blood orange peel on top of the cream. From my pics you can see how beautiful the breads are. Had the bostock--toasted brioche with apricot jam and toasted almonds--sorry but I didn't take a photo. Came back the next day to pick up a loaf of the woodfired bread to take back to our friend in Maine.

Chocolate Coconut Banana Bread

We loved our afternoon cozied up at Vergennes Laundry. We enjoyed some fantastic beverages (try the mocha!) and some bites. The chocolate coconut banana bread stole the show for me. The fluffy dusting of coconut atop the rich (but not overly sweet) banana bread was amazing. Everyone was so kind and the space was cozy and comfortable. Can't wait to visit again soon.

Kimchi grilled cheese

Fantastic bread and delicious desserts. We stopped in for lunch and left with full and happy bellies.

Chocolate coconut banana bread and Americano coffee.

We went here with our friend who raved about it. It's a nice atmosphere with a European feel. There is a small market in the front with some houseware gift items and specialty foods, cheeses, etc. A nice selection. They have espresso, cappuccino, etc. It is small and seating is pretty limited to a row of tables along one wall. They do a busy to go business. There are no menus, so you have to crowd around at the counter to view one very tiny paper menu. The counter help were not overly friendly or helpful. You order your food at the counter and they bring it to you. The menu is very limited, with a middle eastern tone. Quite eclectic selections. Kimchi Grilled cheese anyone? There is a bakery case, but at the time we were there there were was a minuscule selection and no bread at all. We did order a piece of chocolate coconut banana bread and it was a nice size piece and quite delicious. My friend raved about the bread and cheese she got before and on the menu it said sour dough bread with cheeses. Plural. So I thought, wow, some delicious bread with a few cheeses. My friends with simple tastes just wanted a plain grilled cheese. I ordered an Americano coffee that came in a small glass and tasted more like plain espresso. Still tasty though. Great crema on top. When our lunch arrived...it took a very long time for the food...the bread and cheese came in an enormous wooden bowl. Quite the presentation! But it was 3 pieces of well toasted crunchy bread and a few very very thin slices of one kind of cheese, a cheddar. There was a tiny bowl of olives and hot peppers. I asked the server for mustard, but she said they did not have any, even though one item on the menu was listed as having mustard. After a few minutes she brought some mustard. Our companions grilled cheese was a piece of a bread that looked like a small pita with some melted cheese. The two orders of bread and cheese, the two anemic grilled cheese, 2 espresso beverages, two soft drinks and the banana bread came to about $70! Now knowing what to expect, I might consider trying it again, but not sure.

The a Turkish eggs were to die for, their baked goods the best in the area-especially their scones. Treat yourself!

Perfection. The best latte. The most perfect Bostock pastry. A setting worthy of Instagram. I loved it.
