Horrible company to do business with. Zero CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. plants and trees have died. Installed dead sod. The list goes on and on.

This company was hired by our HOA for maintenance of the lawns in our neighborhood. The crew who is responsible for mowing the lawns are damaging all sorts of sprinkler heads, drainage hoses, cover plates over excess to water shut off, watering hoses for trees, and they also damaged my screened in porch by riding by with the lawn mower instead of using a weed trimmer around the enclosure. This happened in September 2024 and it was like pulling teeth to get a reimbursement for the cost of the damage they have caused to my property. The HOA sent numerous emails to them and I called and emailed numerous times. It is now February , 6 month later and they still did not fully reimburse me. RUN...RUN AWAY...DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE.. Totally disappointed in this place. We have purchased thousands of dollars in trees and plants from VerdeGo over the years and most recently we purchased flowers that died after only 3 weeks of having them, so we took them back because it says they have a 1 year guarantee, however when I tried to return them I was told that the little flowers have no guarantee . I only wanted to exchange them for living flowers but kept being told sorry, sorry, sorry. I spent $70 on flowers that died in 3 weeks that I could have gotten at Lowe's or Home Depot for half the money but I try to shop at and support local businesses and then am just told sorry over and over again and take your dead flowers and go away basically. Well they got the last dollar they will ever get from me. I was planning on getting more trees from them and having them install and landscape my front yard but now I will take my business elsewhere. I ended up going to Lowe's to replace the dead flowers so I wouldn't have gaping holes in the flower bed and spent 1/3 of what I originally spent for the same flowers. Had hired Verdego in 2018 for a total landscape project. Project came out beautifully. I then hired them to do perform complete regular maintenance. Cut, edge, trimming all plants, maintain landscape lighting and maintain sprinkler system including weekly wetness checks and monthly sprinkler system checks. Every thing was listed in our contract and was being paid for. I notice my lawn and plants started to look like they were dying so I immediately notified my representative. To make a long story short, they did not come out to the house right away and my entire lawn suffered unrepairable damage. Out of desperation the service tech set the sprinklers to run every day for hours which only watered the weeds that remained making it worse instead of better. After a long dispute they finally agreed to replace my lawn, unfortunately when they came out to replace it they didn't replace the entire lawn, they did it in bizarre patches. It looked horrible! They killed the entire lawn bit not honoring their contract to check for wetness weekly and irrigation monthly. They neglected it for months then refused to completely repair what they had done. Now to replace the remaining sod and additional damage cause by them I will have to pay thousands of dollars and they just walked away ignoring all my calls. read more

Wow. I've actually never seen a business with an average rating of only one star! I'm giving them 2 stars because they do have a wide selection of trees but agree with every other reviewer that their customer service and people skills are abysmal. We went there in October 2023 because we wanted to purchase two palm trees for our yard. When I first arrived, an employee was watering the trees and kindly offered to show me the palms in back. He was helpful and made suggestions for our project. I called my husband to come meet me there so we could make a purchase. He arrived twenty minutes later and at this time the man who had helped me was no longer outside so we went into the office. We explained that we wanted to see the palms in their back lot to purchase. This is where it all went off the rails. The front desk girl ducked her head into an office behind her and told a woman there what we wanted. We could hear the entire conversation. The woman was instantly annoyed and started grilling the girl why we wanted to see trees and tell them we can't and then "Tell them we couldn't even deliver for at least two months maybe longer". The girl snapped back at her that she wished they would keep her informed so she didn't look stupid when people came in. Then she came back out and told us we couldn't see the trees. We said "Are you kidding? But you just showed them to us." So, we left without two trees. Is this a real business??? read more

Vedego residentail lawn service is the worst. They take care of frredom at arbor mill HOA and the grass is yellow. They should use our picture for their promotions. They skip cuttings every other week because yellow grass does not grow. Poor trimming and edging. They get in and out as fasft as they can. not to mension you will need a translater to ask any questions about the job. read more

WARNING! Verdego is not a trustworthy garden center. We had Matt Stinson look over our yard as we needed to additional evergreens in the back yard for added privacy. We had 2 beautiful evergreen trees in the yard and Matt looked at the trees and I mentioned that the streets must need fertilizer as there was a soft yellow spot on one tree. Matt told us they were Leyland Cypress. I asked him if these would work well in our yard. He said they would provided a good privacy screen. We ordered 8 Leyland Cypress and Verdego planted them for us. Not long after the new 8 Cypress were planted the yellow area on the Older Cypress became larger. I talked to Verdego to ask questions about these trees and talked to a very helpful woman. She suggested I take a branch off the older Cypress tree and take it to Florida Conservation Bureau which I did do. They inspected it and said the Cypress had been infected with Blight. I called the woman at Verdego again and asked her about Blight and what I could do. She informed me that Leyland Cypress are vulnerable to getting Blight. I was upset as Matt Stinson never advised me of this when he sold us the 8 new Leyland Cypress. I told her I was upset with him. We had a one year contract on the trees so I had hoped this would not be an issue. It is now nearly 11 months later and one of the new Cypress became infected with the Blight. I called the woman at Verdego that had been very helpful to me and she suggested I replace it with a Florida Red as they are not likely to be bothered with Blight. I asked her since we are still under warranty that Verdego could replace the Cypress with a Florida Red. She said she would have to ask Matt Stinson as he was General Mgr. I thought Oh great this is the bozo that sold me the 8 Cypress who did not warn me about these Cypress being vulnerable to Blight. We did not hear back from Matt so my husband left a message for the the owner, T.J. McNitt. Mr. McNitt did not call us Matt Stinson called us and told me that I was negligent and that is why the Cypress became infected. We have bubblers on all of our trees and have a professional lawn service company who fertilizes our shrubs and trees. We run the bubblers twice a week unless it is terribly hot and we run them 3 times a week. Everything looks amazingly beautiful and thriving except for the one Cypress that turned brown and yellow and limp. Matt Stinson also lied to both my husband and I about the trees and said he had warned us about the Leyland Cypress. I was shocked! I told him that he was not telling the truth.That he was a liar. I was really insulted! He was unprofessional, condescending and rude. He did not honor our warranty and then lied to cover his ignorance about the Leyland Cypress trees.* If you need a garden store there are other garden centers located further out from the Daytona Beach area that serve Lowes and Lowes provides this service for their customers. Just ask the professionals at the garden center--they are very helpful and have them give you a list of their garden centers and the garden center will ship whatever you need to Lowes closest to you Lowes will delivery it to your home and plant it for you---with a guaranteed warranty!! They have honored every plant I have purchased from them with a guaranteed warranty. UNLIKE VERDEGO WHO CALLS THE CUSTOMER NEGLIGENT AND WILL NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY. read more

On April 25, 2019 we received a quote from VerdeGo Landscaping (Jesse Villaneuva was our design consultant). The bid consisted of a landscape design package which included a 7 foot Sylvester Palm costing $1,190.00. The total quote was $3,910.00. On May 7, I, along with a friend of mine, came to VerdeGo to select my tree. I found the perfect 6' Sylvester tree. Jesse stated he would tag the tree to ensure it would not be sold or taken by anyone else. My friend and I witnessed him tagging the tree. My friend even took a picture of me next to the tree. The next morning, I called an placed a deposit of $1,467.50 via phone call to VerdeGo. I then received (the same day) an email from Jesse stating the project was put on the schedule for June 7. On or about April 20, my husband went to VerdeGo to see the tree. A female employee took him in a golf cart (a distance from the actual building) to look for the tree. It was no where to be found. The employee stated to my husband that she would contact Jesse and have him call us. Jesse did not call, so the next day my husband texted Jesse. Jesse then texted a picture of "a" tree. It was not the same tree I picked out. My husband then went out to the site the next day to see the tree personally, It had at least 13 dead branches, was smaller, and looked nothing like the tree I chose. He sent me a picture of the tree, and I told him this was certainly not the tree I had chosen a few days before. My husband told Jesse this, and he stated we could come pick out another tree. No one would own up to what happened to our original tree. On May 24, 2019, my husband and I met Jesse and the General Manager Matthew Stinson at the site to pick out another tree. Prior to them coming outside, an employee (whom I promised not to disclose), came up to us and stated "I think they gave your original tree away, and Jesse tagged a different tree". We were shocked to say the least. Jesse and Matthew then came outside. They said they just received 2 new trees and we could go to the back with them to look at them. As a side note, previously we had been taken to the back area on a golf cart due to the thick, sandy dirt and long distance to walk. We are not young people. I was wearing a skirt and heels and they did not offer to take us on a golf cart and my husband had to help hold me up walking through the thick sand/dirt. I stated, it would be nice to have a golf cart, and received no response from either Matthew or Jesse. I feel they intentionally made us walk the long distance. We then got to the back and the trees were lying down and Matthew stated one of the 2 choices we had for a 6' tree selection was on the bottom. No effort was made to show us both trees, so we basically had no choice but to select the only tree choice they provided. We then walked back towards the office. We never received a formal apology nor any type of restitution for our trouble. Nor, did Jesse or Matthew ever admit to wrongdoing. We then discussed possible changes to a few plants. Our contract stated we could make 2 changes without charges. It was obvious they did not want us making any changes, so we just decided to accept the contact has written. They then asked us to sign that we would not make any additional changes (which we hadn't really made any changes to start with). I regret that I agreed to sign off on that. Jesse then walked back into the office confirm the start date, because they had also changed the start date on us after telling us it was June 7. While we were standing outside with the General Manager, Matthew, I looked at him and stated "do you think this matter could have been handled better?" He stated, "what do you mean?" I said, "well, we never received an explanation about why our original tree was taken and why someone would tag a different tree and try to pass it off to us." I said "you would just think you could at least apologize or give us a free rose rush or something". (I was using a rose bush as an example of providing good customer service.) He then said in a very condescending manner, "so you want something free?" I said "why not?" He then stated "I'll give you something free... just hold on." He then left us outside for several minutes. Finally, we got tired of waiting and went inside the office. We saw the owner of the company, T.J. McNitt standing behind the desk. He did not acknowledge us, and also failed to return several calls my husband made to him about the tree incident. Jesse and Matthew then returned and Matthew stated "here's you a gift card and a credit for our deposit, stating he did not wish to do business with us. We declined the gift card. I looked at Jesse and stated "why did you tag a different tree, when you knew it was not the tree I originally chose?" He did not have an explanation.
