The best kept secret (or secret no more??) is definitely the speakeasy downstairs...all of our guests still cannot stop talking about it! With all that said, I would say that the only thing that really worried me about this venue was the parking. It's not a surprise that this area is extremely dense, so for some of our guests, parking was challenging. The York Manor did suggest hiring a valet service and after talking to a handful of valet service vendors - the prices were just really unreasonable for what would have still been the same parking situation. But all in all, everybody eventually found parking, everything was on time and the day was PERFECT.

Downstairs is the main room with lofty ceilings, large windows, wood floors, a kitchen, bathrooms, and a stage for a DJ or live bands. Downstairs is a speakeasy style bar and the backyard is also a nice spot for an outdoor reception. I've driven by this place numerous times thinking it was just a church. I recently saw that there was a Holiday Market Place being held here so I stopped in to do some shopping. There was a man on the front lawn making pupusas and people sitting at tables enjoying them. Inside is quite spacious and there were several vendors selling their merchandise. The tables were nicely spaced apart, so it was easy to browse. The hall has high ceilings with exposed beams. Which I loved. Only challenge was the ugly fluorescent bar lights and AC vents. But we made it work with string lights and paper lanterns and it really turned the place around. Everyone loves how the hall looked and I was very happy with how it turned out. Overall it was a great location for our wedding reception. I recommend it if your up to the challenge and have a specific look in mind like we did.

There's a big kitchen to cook stuff if you need to. La Casita is beautiful and it comfortably fit about 70 people. When you book, they say 70 people is the max, but honestly I think it could fit 80-90 people. It's fairly simple to book online and you'll get a liaison to email you if you have questions. The venue provides enough tables and chairs for 70-80 people. I had to rent tablecloths to make them look nicer. I also hired a couple people to help set up and clean up. Overall, I'm glad I did the baby shower here instead of at home. Some other things to know: -If you're serving booze, it's an additional $70 bucks for liability insurance. -Liability for food to be cooked at the venue costs about $120 through a company the City of Pasadena uses. -I set up a photobooth behind the building and it worked out great! -There is free wifi, but when it's shared among 70 people its kind of slow. -There are about 40 parking spaces, but there is neighborhood parking too.
