I would rate zero if I could. My nail tech Thi Thuy Dang Vo did an absolutely horrible job and had an even more off putting attitude. I asked for french ombre with chrome and I left 2.5 hours later with lumpy pink nails, no ombré, no chrome, just normal dip nails. I also had to practically beg her to at least even them out and fix the shape. They were also longer than I wanted but I was scared to even say anything about that, because when I mentioned the shape being a little off she literally threw me the file to do it myself, then only let me do my left middle finger (the only one that looks somewhat decent) before she took the file back to "fix the rest". Mind you she ended up charging me for a "dip and tip"- $46 AND an additional $10 as a "long nail fee". These are not only longer than I wanted them, but they're also not long enough to warrant an extra fee in my opinion. Multiple other techs came by and looked at what she was doing and you could tell they knew they looked bad too, but none of them offered to help her or if they did she said no, I don't know because they weren't speaking English. I left with nails that I could have done better at home- that I literally will be fixing myself at home, and that I was visibly unhappy with. I honestly wish I had it in me to have just walked out without paying, but I will never be back to this place again, and I don't know how Miss Vo got her license in the first place if she doesn't know how to evenly apply dip powder or shape nails. I'm honestly disgusted with this service and I hate my nails... I want to cry because these are my nails for graduation too. Yes saying I hate them might be a little dramatic, but they don't look good. I included a picture of what I wanted, what I got, and what my nails have looked like other times that I got them done professionally because Thi Thuy Dang Vo tried to blame the bad shape on me by saying, "well you also just have big nails you know." I'll update this review later/tomorrow when I fix them myself if it lets me, but save your time and money by going somewhere else, or at least not seeing Thi. -Update 05/08 I went to The Nail Spa by Bass Pro in celebration pointe the next day to get these fixed but I'm just now getting to update this because of graduation chaos. Anna is the nail tech I saw there and she is AMAZING. Not only did she fix these and give me exactly what I wanted in less than an hour, but she also only charged me $25 because she felt bad about what I went through here. Go there instead, they're amazing!!! I'm attaching pictures of her work too so you can see the difference.

Classic manicure with thin French tips

I stumbled across this place because I live nearby. My boyfriend and I decided to pop in. He got a pedicure and I got a manicure. They were able to take us in immediately. I showed my nail tech what I wanted which was a classic manicure with really thin French tips. At first she made them thicker but she kindly asked if it was the correct thickness of the tip. I told her more thin and this was the outcome. I think she could have curved tips a bit more but overall super happy with them.

Worst nail job I've ever had! To begin, the gel dip powders do not match the nail samples offered. The tech I had must not have any experience doing acrylic/gel nails and completely botched my nails (filing is inconsistent; the thickness of the gel nail is so big, they look like balloons; and the paint job is sloppy). The worst part is that I was made to pay for this. Now I have to pay another $50 to have them redone.

Always enjoy a trip to Venus Nail Spa. Even when they are busy, they are usually able to get me into a chair quickly to get started soaking for a pedicure. Staff members are friendly, service is great! This is my go to place when I need to relax

Second edit: After receiving a refund, I was harassed by management to remove my review. Super unprofessional! I do NOT recommend Venus! Editing my review: after posting on Google and Yelp, I finally received an email back and got a full refund for this. Thank you, Venus! I had an appointment for a regular manicure and pedicure. Upon entry and sitting, I was never given the option or asked to pick my color and had to ask for the key ring of options. My heels were barely exfoliated or buffed, with extra attention to one foot and nearly none on the other. My toenail polish is clumpy with many spots missed, though it was one simple color. Then my nightmare manicure started. 3 cuticles were severely bleeding and again, my polish was clumpy, uneven, with missed spots. The woman bumped my finger that I did not move and messed up the polish and scoffed at me as if it was my fault. She painted 5 layers of polish over it until I asked her to redo that nail so it wouldn't be so thick. Two of my cuticles bled for two days every time I washed my hands and I had to keep a bandaid on them! Less than 4 days later, my manicure looks 2 weeks old / grown out / chipped and my cuticles are still incredibly sore. I took photos and emailed the owners 3 times with no response. Incredibly disappointed. I have had better nail jobs done by 8 year olds I babysit. I have NO IDEA how this place has so many great reviews!!

Well, here is my dipped nail 3 days later ! I had the service performed on Saturday and today is Tuesday. It's peeled off! What a waste of time and money.I went there about a month ago and did the dipping powder for the first time and it was great. I asked for the same person as last time, but she wasn't available. This time, the lady cut my skin and my cuticles and it was not anything like the first time. I'm done!! I spent over $110 for a mani/ pedi and it was absolutely not worth it

    2 days after my pedicure

After getting talked into doing the deluxe pedicure and paying $70 plus tip. I am super disappointed because two days later my toes look absolutely horrible. I specifically got gel so they would last longer, and now I am stuck with toes that look worse than before I got them done

My first time going here and Ms.Hannah did an awesome job, very friendly and enjoyed my first experience getting this set :D the place is also neat!

Pure Aesthetics is the best hidden gem of Gainesville. I spent the last decade moving around and…read moretraveling throughout the nation and have had aesthetic treatments at so many med spas and salons that I have lost count. Pure Aesthetics is hands down one of the highest quality experiences you will ever receive. From the moment you walk in the door, there are multiple receptionists who began greeting me by name on only my second visit. The atmosphere immediately calms you when you walk into the lobby, you will feel like you are about to have a massage! They always offer water, champagne, or a collagen drink (even if you are running late to your appointment, like I have unfortunately done more than once!) I can only speak to the services of Kelsey (electrolysis) and Lindsey (Coolsculpting Elite) from personal experience, but I am fully confident in saying that my experience every single appointment over the past few months is indicative of the entire staff. I cannot exclaim my praise for either of these women loudly enough. No matter what area of the body you would like to learn more about treatment for, everyone at Pure Aesthetics has an in-depth knowledge of the services offered and will never pressure you into booking a treatment or purchasing a product whatsoever. I was especially impressed to learn that all staff members that offer treatments must work the front desk for a period of time to learn how the office (and schedule) operates and to interact with the clients. I think this is the greatest idea from a Human Resources perspective (which I happen to have my Bachelor's degree in ) and ensures that any information given over the phone is well-informed, and not simply a reiteration of the menu of services offered which you can read for yourself online. If you are seeking a treatment of an area but are not quite sure if you'd like to go the surgical route, the building is shared with Gaines Plastic Surgery. I cannot personally attest to Dr. Gaines, as I have not had any surgeries at this location, but this is truly an incredible partnership that allows clients to pursue all their aesthetic or cosmetic procedures in one place, with staff they are already comfortable with greeting them and offering a plethora of experience, knowledge, and services along the way. Lastly, I feel it would be remiss not to mention the personal touch and genuine care that the staff has for each and every client. A few months ago, I had a personal emergency which left me without my cell phone, and I ended up "no-call, no-show-ing" two appointments in a row. Instead of blocking me from scheduling further appointments, both Kelsey and Lindsey showed immediate, unwavering care and concern and welcomed me back to my appointments as soon as I was able to make contact again. Of course, I hope such an incident never happens to anyone else, but many Med Spas that I know of would enforce a strict cancellation policy with no questions asked, but not here. When I come here, I know that I'm not only trusting my body with experts and professionals at their specialties, but trusting my overall wellbeing to a team that genuinely wants to see everyone look, feel, and achieve their best. I recommend anyone who is even considering a treatment at Pure Aesthetics to visit the website and at a minimum, get on the email list, as there is a new special each month, and the treatment you're eyeing might be next on the list for a discount! Special or not, my experiences here have been worth every penny!

The Grand indulgence and 90-minute facial are similar with the them massaging your arms and feet with body butter followed by warming mitts. The Grand Indulgence also adds an invigorating scalp massage complete with warm oil (Note: your hair has never felt so soft and vivacious... but you may not want to go to a 5-star restaurant dinner after). All their therapists are experts in their craft- a special shoutout goes to David! What I especially appreciate is their privacy and professionalism. The dressing room was dirtier than should be; the carpet didn't look vacuumed and towels and robes from the previous person were still on the floor. Strike one. The massage was nice, a bit rough, but relaxing. The music playing was awful, though, and ruined the experience. Strike two. Next up was the mani/pedi and all that can be said is that one could do a better job at home alone with an emery board. The nail technician seemed nice enough at first, but quickly started talking politics and religion -- subjects that are fine for discussion in the appropriate venue. Being held hostage in a leaking pedicure chair is not one of them. She kept filing too close and caused blood not once, but twice. During the manicure, she went on and on about how awful our town is now that it's becoming more "citified" and that the student population has pretty much ruined it's quaintness. The only reason we live in this town is because of the university, both having finished our advanced degrees there. The manicure took forever and three and a half hours after entering the spa, I finally left. When I got into the car, I noticed that there was nailpolish all over my cuticles. There were air bubbles in the toe polish and a huge smear on the side of my foot. As I drove away, I left more stressed out than I had when I arrived.

Rhinoplasty Review Issues…read more I am horrified by my overall experience and result. During my consultation, I explained that my main concern was that the tip of my nose appeared too large and round. The consultation felt rushed, but I moved forward with surgery trusting Dr Tyrone's expertise. After my rhinoplasty, I called the office twice while my cast (which was just tape) was on because it felt extremely loose. I offered to come in to have it checked, but the nurse reassured me it was fine. When the cast was removed, it was barely attached to my face, and the nurse even commented that it was the easiest cast she had ever removed. As swelling went down over the next few months, it became clear something was wrong. The tip of my nose remained very large and pointed/crooked and one nostril began collapsing, my nose ran constantly, and I developed a noticeable lump on the outer nostril that did not resolve. When I raised concerns, I was often met with brief responses such as "that's odd" or told it would go away. A steroid injection was done to try to shrink the tip but that wasn't helpful. I noticed that the nasal bones at the top of my nose were protruding outward, causing VERY visible divots along the bridge and a very flat and bumpy appearance across the bridge. The bones that protrude outward are causing an inverted V shape on my nose. The tip of my nose is also noticeably crooked and my nostril look completely uneven. All of these irregularities are very noticeable, painful and very obvious. Instead of addressing the structural and cosmetic issues, Dr. Tyrone suggested placing filler in my nose for $400 to camouflage the mistakes. I obviously declined. I sought out two separate second opinions from other surgeons. Both confirmed that I was left with an open roof deformity and an inverted V deformity due to over-resection of bone. These are structural complications that are noticeable and painful and unfortunately, I may not be left with enough cartilage to fix my nose unless a surgeon harvests cartilage from elsewhere. Dr. Tyrone offered a revision surgery ONLY after I mentioned that I knew I had serious issues going on. He seemed annoyed. Unfortunately, for a revision, he quoted me nearly half of the original rhinoplasty cost, with no assurance of correction. I was told he could "try" to rasp down the sharp edges, but there was little confidence expressed. He said my nasal bones are comparable to a greenstick fracture. He said there's a lot of risk in revision and he wasn't very encouraging as he doesn't offer revisions. Due to financial limitations, I was essentially dismissed. I asked the woman working at the front desk if I needed to be seen again, as I was being seen every 2 months for a check up. I was told I would be seen again if I proceeded with revision surgery. I saved for years for this procedure. I am now left with pain, visible deformities on the center of my face, and no resolution at this time. I wish I had done more research before proceeding. Personally, I would be ashamed keeping someone's money and this be the outcome. Not only that, but if I went through with a revision surgery, I would be paying nearly half the cost of my original surgery. Please take your time, do multiple consultations with different surgeons and make sure you feel fully heard before moving forward with any surgery. My advice, please don't go here.
