The most amazing dinner of our entire vacation was had right here at Vento. The concept is a Tapas restaurant, and they encourage you to try as many as you wish from both the cold and warm side of the menu. Every single item we selected was delicious, however the charred octopus, grilled shrimp on creamy risotto, beef medallion with truffled mash, and fried chicken with polenta were the stand-outs. As a bonus the atmosphere is amazing, as you are in the atrium of one of the pyramids, surrounded by small waterfalls, koi ponds, natural foliage, and of course the modern design of this fantastic restaurant. Highly, Highly recommend. Also, Thank you to Leo, our friendly waiter who was on the spot our entire meal.

Our diner, an assortment of tapas.

This restaurant is a part of the all-inclusive resort Paradisus, and is probably their best. The menu offers a variety of Fusion Mediterranean tapas, classics and other chef's creations. We elected lamb cutlets, veal cheeks, Spanish tortilla, pan sauted shrimp on a squid ink risotto, fried calamari, prawns, and other delicious treats...The style is intimate and upscale, and the service excellent like all Paradisus' venues.

Shrimp, salmon and scallops. All amazing and perfectly cooked!

Paradisus was my first experience at an all-inclusive resort. I've always been skeptical about the food/drink quality at all-inclusives, but Paradisus exceeded my expectations! Vento is the Mediterranean tapas restaurant on the property. My husband and I made reservations with another couple who was celebrating their anniversary. You have the option to sit inside, or "outside" which is really within the building, but in a large atrium made to look like it's outside. We sat inside, where it's quite dark, but at a nice large comfortable booth (and with air conditioning!). Our server explained the concept to us shortly after being seated - everything on the menu is very small, and he recommended how many items we should order from the cold and from the hot tapas. Everything we ate was delicious, from the octopus to the scallops, duck, and everything in between! The amazing meal was topped off with tastings of four different desserts. My advice - make sure you hit the restaurant and try as many items off the menu that you can! You won't regret it!

From left to right, capresse salad with buffalo mozzarella, foie gras creme brulee, spanish egg tortilla.

With only one 5 star review about this place I thought I'd give it a try before leaving. Why didn't I go here sooner! The menu is definitely a step up from every restaurant here. They even have foie gras and truffle! Some expensive ingredients. Will update more later after dinner. Late on the update but this place was amazing! The beef medallion with truffle mashed potatoes is a must have! It just melts in your mouth. Definitely order a lot since the portions are about the size of your palm. Plus it's all inclusive so why not pig out :) Would have liked to try more stuff but since it was or last night for dinner we decided to restaurant hop over to the Brazilian market grill; will have review of that place as well.

This steak was amazing ! Super tender and juicy

This place was recommended by our butler at the hotel, and honestly, we should have just gone with our original choice instead of coming here. The restaurant itself is aesthetically pleasing, but that's about where the positives end. The food is seriously underwhelming and absolutely not worth the price. I ordered the seafood spaghetti, and every single clam came out closed. The mussels were ridiculously small, there was barely any other seafood in the dish, and for the price they charge, it honestly feels like a complete rip-off. The show is entertaining, but the entertainment is better than the food, in my opinion. On top of that, the sodas we were served were flat and appeared to be expired, which is completely unacceptable. This has easily been the worst dining experience I've had since being here. The atmosphere may look nice, but that does not make up for poor-quality food, questionable drinks, and prices that do not match what you're actually getting. I would not come back, and I definitely would not recommend this restaurant. And, we came here to celebrate a birthday. Wow!

We started with the hummus and pita bread and the beef carpaccio. The hummus was really good and easily the standout appetizer. The beef carpaccio was okay, but it was kind of bland and didn't have a lot going on. For our entrees, I ordered the Pollo al Vino Tinto, which was a red wine chicken served over mashed potatoes. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. My girlfriend ordered the Andalusian-style beef roast with creamy rice, and that was excellent as well. Both entrees were easily the highlight of the meal. The desserts were a different story. The baklava tasted more like a really hard churro than traditional baklava. We also tried the rum fritters and another dessert that was basically a cream puff sitting in a thin sauce. None of the desserts were bad, but they were definitely disappointing compared to the main courses. We sat on the patio, which had a mild ocean view, although it was mostly a palm tree frond view from where we were seated. The bigger issue was the service. It wasn't very busy, but it felt like we were forgotten at times. I think we only saw our server about three times during the entire meal. Despite the inconsistent service and underwhelming desserts, the excellent entrees and really good hummus made this a solid dinner and a good way to start the trip. I would eat here again.

Every bite of the Eggs Benedict was decadent. The eggs were perfectly poached, and I appreciated that they weren't drowning in hollandaise. The French Toast caught me by surprise because I was expecting it to be somewhat crunchy when, in actuality, it had a super soft and squishy texture that instantly melted in my mouth. The views, food, and service were all amazing. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!!

You have the option to sit outside or inside which both are excellent options. To the right is the open kitchen and in front sits the fresh Italian meat and the most impressive is the leg of prosciutto (unfortunately did not have it on this trip). The waiters were attentive and gave wonderful recommendations. The insalata d'uva was pairs perfectly with the Gorgonzola dressing and balsamic reduction. Even better was the insalata d'asparagi which may have been one of best asparagus dishes I have had. The first thought of oranges with asparagus may be odd but just trust the chef and jump in. The Quattro formaggi may not sound that like a home run from the menu but with the copa and the smoked provolone the flavor is lifted to a place where you are wishing for a couple more bites as the dish comes to an end. The pavlova was just the right amount of sweet to end the night. Overall a very welcoming and well thought out experience and I would recommend if you have the time to stop by. Our waiter, Juan was outstanding. I mean, service is fantastic at the entire property, but Juan made our experience comfortable and enjoyable. The lobster ravioli was not presented in the old fashion style, but a wonderfully designed pasta dish that was too lovely to eat. My dinner guest had the ceviche appetizer and pesca pomodoro salad appetizer. We loved our meal and experience. Again thank you Juan for being our server!
