Christopher, the owner was able to get us on the schedule right away. He showed up the next day on time took pictures and videos all the way through come to find out our dryer line had approximately 7 to 8 gallons of water in it. Furthermore it was the kind that ran underground. After getting all the water out completely he installed a new flex line with dryer clamps. Dryer is running amazing. Something I had been expecting for a long time. A tech came by to fix the issue, but said he didn't know how long the fix would last. So, we decided to go ahead and schedule a date to replace the entire HVAC system since we had a newborn at the house and he said with the way everything is there can be a long wait. Fast forward to the replacement date, the techs were nice, ran into some troubles, but it was replaced that day. About a week later the system completely shut off and we had to call them back for maintenance. They fix that issue quickly (8 hours or so without AC). Fast forward another two or so weeks and our entire system shut down again. He came last Thursday and said basically two plugs had a surge that blew up and that they could only temporarily fix it until they got a new plug. We had to go with the temporary fix because again we have a newborn and no family to stay with nearby. The temporary fix was to basically cut in a wrong size fan that ra continuously. The part took more than a week to arrive, but was fixed on September 1st and because of all of the difficulties the manager was nice enough to cover the cost of the surge protector. They are definitely a sales company and try to sell you something with each visit , but the issues were taken care of as quickly as they could and they did honor their warranty. So, all in all, decent company but not without troubles.

It was Sunday evening when I discovered a plumbing problem at the house. I decided to put out a…read morerequest a quote through Yelp so I could see who was available and get some pricing for Monday morning. I've had this issue happen years ago so I was pretty confident in the fact that I needed my main line snaked/augered. I feel like the whole point of doing these requests is to get the info you need without a bunch of phone calls and visitors to the house, but it feels like pulling teeth trying to get a quote out of someone. I understand there are variables, but I'm including a description of what I need... at least give me a ballpark. While Holy City is one of the ones that would not offer any pricing, they did offer a free estimate and they also got back to me Sunday evening within minutes of putting in my request. I went back and forth on the app and set up an appointment for Monday morning between 10am-12pm and was told I would get a text 30 mins before to let me know someone was on the way. Well 10-12 came and went with no tech, no call, and no text. I did shoot them a message at that point letting them know that nobody came. A while later, they sent me a message saying that my appointment time had changed and would now be between 3-5pm. No apology or acknowledgement of the missed appointment from that morning. So I replied, "No thank you. You already no call/no showed our first appointment". I get no response on the app so I figure what's done is done. Then I get a text around 3:15pm letting me know a tech is on his way to my home. I responded with a shortened version from above and that I no longer wanted service. Then it seemed I was getting a new message from an Aaron D stating he canceled the appointment and was sorry for the confusion about my appointment. I pointed out that there was no confusion about the appointment and that I was ready and waiting the whole time to which their tech no call/no showed. Then they just reschedule me for 5 hours later with zero explanation or apology. At that point, the problem was already fixed by another plumber from another company who was more reliable. From there, Aaron did apologize for the inconvenience and acknowledged that the mistake was on their end and he would deal with it internally. Based on other reviews and the quick response to my initial inquiry, I was really looking forward to a great experience. Maybe this was a fluke for them, but I can only go off of the experience I had and it was quite disappointing. I'll add an extra star for Aaron reaching out to remedy the situation and acknowledging their mistake, but I won't be recommending them to anyone else.

I recently hired Preferred Home Services when I had an issue with a digital thermostat. The service call was on a Sunday, so I certainly understand the premium charge. But I was essentially charged $500 for labor to unplug and plug in a new thermostat (a $200 part). No new wiring, just plug and play. The tech did check the furnace and air conditioner, but my total bill was $700. Again, I understand the Sunday premium charge, but a $500 labor charge is way too extreme. I'm rating them a 3, only because the tech was very helpful, but I would have rated them much lower because of an obvious price gouging practice that this company uses, which was extremely disappointing.
