At that time, I was prescribed antibiotics and pain meds with instructions to follow-up on Monday morning with a local colorectal surgeon. This surgeon was unable to see me due to a lack of OR time. Dr. McGuinness' office thankfully fit me into the schedule and he drained the abscess right in his office on my initial visit...thus avoiding further delay and outpatient surgery. This isn't the path for everyone and Dr. McGuinness explained all of my options along with the fact that two-thirds of patients with abscesses turn into fistulas down the road. While it's NOT what you want to hear, his knowledge and bedside manner is second to none. He is an extremely talented surgeon, doesn't talk too much, and does excellent work. If you need a rectal surgeon, I highly recommend Dr. McGuinness. His assistant (Shaima) was very helpful also.

My experience with Dr. Yi Zheng was very disappointing…read more Appointments were always late and often felt rushed. Every appointment was late, including my first visit. (more than 30 minutes late with no apology) Follow-up care was also lacking. My ultrasound results (which included medical terms I did not fully understand) were posted on the patient portal by the ultrasound provider, but Dr. Yi Zheng did not add any explanation, comments, or follow-up to help interpret the results. My endoscopy appointment was also delayed, and afterward I was not given an explanation of what was done or any immediate post-procedure discussion. Another phone appointment was automatically scheduled without discussing it with me first, and again the doctor joined the call more than 30 minutes late. The conversation lasted only a few minutes and felt rushed. In contrast, my previous gastroenterologist would speak with me before and after procedures and provide results directly through the patient portal, without needing additional billing phone visits for basic follow-up. Communication through the Tebra patient portal was also an issue, as I did not receive a response when I requested assistance and asked about changing a provider for a gastric emptying study. When I contacted the office, staff were unable to confirm whether messages are regularly reviewed by the doctor. Overall, this was one of the most unsatisfactory experiences I have had with a medical provider in terms of communication, follow-through, and coordination of care. The tests gave me a lot of great information and I was able to continue with the supplements she had recommended. It helped immensely that one tests identified 5 major food sentivities and removing them from my diet help alot. But a couple years after that, my gut got really bad again and I was always in pain, exhausted and sick. I had 4 friend who had been seeing Dr Varon and at their recommendation I finally made an appointment with him. His healing protocol for my leaky gut, the cause of my belly pain works. It isn't cheap, but it is way cheaper than getting cancer and digestive cancers run very strongly on both sides of my family. Again I am feeling much better and evey time I have another followup with Dr Varon he makes a change in my morning shake which makes my feel a little better still. The only thing I can figure on why he has so many bad reviews are due to preconceived expectations. Just because another doctor, or your own research shows other supplements may help, they are not generally part of a full protocol for healing. If you see him, are open to what he says, respect his knowledge and ask questions at the end of your appointment you will find healing without big pharma and a wonderful doctor. Then today (5 days before my surgery day) she called said my insurance out of network, Dr. Kim not in network, but how come my regular visit was covered ? However if this the case they're out of network, why didn't inform me since 1 month ago or at least 2 weeks before ? I prepared my work to take days off, & prepared everything. This suck, beware if you scheduled surgery, keep follow up with them make sure they do their job to check with insurance not in last minutes.
