I decides to give EWC a try since it had really great reviews and they use hard wax. Mandy did my Brazilian the first time I went and I was wonderful! The next time someone else did it and it did sting a little but despite using a topical numbing agent. I highly recommended going to Mandy at EWC, especially if you have a low pain tolerance. I have a high pain tolerance fyi and when I used anyone else it hurt. Also you might want to check out PFB Topical Anesthetic. Apply it 10-15 minutes before you wax and it will take that sting out. It has 5% lidocaine which is the max OTC. If your a beginner the worst part is the anticipation of the pain not the actual pain. Also look for an exfoliating brush. It has a wooden paddle, not sure what the bristles are made of but it helps to prevent ingrown's. I haven't had one since I started using it. Use it 2 days after you wax and use soap with it. Then use the EWC gel/cream that prevents ingrown's. Also, to help with the pain prior to waxing don't have anything acidic and no caffeine and take some ibuprofen about 20 min before you go in! Hope this review helps! I definitely recommend Mandy!! Plus she uses baby powder which makes all the difference in the world :)

If you're very specific on how you want things done then read this review. I have been going to this place for over a year now and I have known and been helped by the owners for almost 3 years, I go back every 3-4 weeks and plan on doing so, and here is why. I used to hate getting my nails done despite loving the way they looked on other people but I avoided the strong acetone smells as they triggered migraines, rude nail techs treating me like 40-50 bucks, feeling embarrassed to say I don't like it my nails are too thick or crooked and being told I'm wrong or that's how it is and can't be fixed, or having them have an attitude and talk to each other in their language after you complained because you know they're talking about you(they're looking at you) sore nails from acrylics, just everything. At this place you don't need to worry about that from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out they give you a good customer experience. I'm a Person or even a friend and we can hold conversations while I get my services done. There's no strong acetone smell, and they offer a variety of services. It can be a bit pricey depending on what you get done but I think it's worth it because it will last you at least 3 weeks and if not they fix it for you. They're constantly asking you if you're ok if they hurt you if you need a drink if if it's too hot/cold making sure that you're comfortable. If I don't like something about my nails I can tell them and they have no problem fixing it to my liking not theirs. They can take a long time but deliver great results which to me is more important. Yes they often speak to each other in their language but you see them having a good time and in my experience they have always translated what they're talking about trying to include me in their conversations. Besides, basically anywhere you go to get your nails done you're bound to find yourself listening to someone speak another language. Anyway I highly recommend this place but make sure to make an appointment so you don't have to wait forever because they stay busy! read more

1/29/18 **UPDATE** This was Mom and I's third time in 6 weeks going here and having Tyson and Trish. I just can't believe how amazing it is each time!!! I love how they get to know us and remember things going on in our life. Tyson and Trish took the time to make sure Mom and I were very taken care of and everything was just perfect!! Of course, the place was clean and friendly atmosphere! They are always funny and make sure we are happy every step of the way. And I love the way they add special touches :) My Mom had not had her nails done professionally in 17 years before finding Trish. Now she can't stop herself from getting the shellac from Trish because she is careful, gentle and does an amazing job. And I can't say enough amazing, wonderful things about Tyson. Refer to pictures to see his wonderful work. If you want a relaxing, friendly atmosphere with amazing associates such as Tyson and Trish, definitely go to Venetian!!! Tyson and Trish were great!! Clean atmosphere, wonderful associates!!! Tyson and Trish took their time and paid close attention to detail and checked to make sure my mom and I were happy through out. The other associates were smiling and said hi as they walked by. The place was busy, but everyone was happy. I've been in midland for a few weeks visiting and was struggling with going to someone other then my lady back home in Nevada, as I'm super picky and particular about how my nails look as most women are haha! After looking at reviews for a few days I finally decided on going to Venetian Nails, and I'm glad I did! I was a walk-in and had no appointment and didn't have to wait to long at all. JOY was my nail tech and was amazing! I had to get two nails replaced and then a full set on the rest and she made sure she got my two new nails Exactly like the others! Took in how I said I wanted them To look very well and did an amazing job and was very attentive! I didn't have time for a pedicure at the time due to some prior engagements, but as soon as I was finished I came right back same day and had JOY do my pedicure which was also amazing and relaxing! Probably one of the best ones I've had!! Other then that, the environment of the salon was very nice and relaxing! The employees engaged with everyone and was laughing and making jokes! We came in on a Friday evening after 5pm which I know is crazy busy so I figured I'd have to wait. We did wait but the staff informed us up front there was a wait. We chose to stay and my daughter got a manicure and pedicure. I needed to have botched acrylic nails (done from another shop in town) taken off first. Brenda took off the old nails only to find I had mold growing under two of them! She helped me tailor a nail style that would allow me to keep an eye on the mold spots but disguise it and look pretty. This is the best place I have ever been too. Everyone was great and the pedi and mani were AMAZING!!! Stephanie was my tech and as long as I'm in Midland I will NEVER go anywhere else! Even the customers are friendly. I have recently had surgery on my foot and have no feeling on my heel, but that was not an issue once I told Stephanie. She was very attentive to make sure that she was not hurting or irritating my foot. To be honest I have been scared to have a pedicure since the surgery, but because of Stephanie and the spa I'm not worried anymore. Thank you guys so very much!!! read more

This is the only place I go to in Midland for my nails-I always have Brenda do my nails -she is literally the best! She always takes her time to do a great job, is very skilled at application and designs, and makes sure you are happy with your nails :) I tried dipping powder for the first time here and it's awesome because it stays on and doesn't chip at all even over 5 weeks! Brenda knows how to apply it in a way that it still looks good as it's growing out. Highly recommend this place! Check out the photos I posted to see my nails I got done today. I always get my nails done with Brenda! She is absolutely amazing! I can show her anything I want and she will go above and beyond what I am asking for! She is always friendly to me! She is hands down the best person in Midland! If you can't get her, you won't be disappointed with her husband Eddy! He's awesome as well! They are the perfect duo! Went to this nail spa a few weeks ago while I was in town, and let me tell you it was the best work I've EVER had done! There was no long wait and everyone that would walk in was greeted and taken care of promptly. Eddie took great care of me, actually has pride in his work, and when he saw that the dip color wasn't working good he quickly took it off and started with a new one! I had Eddie who did my nails. He was so sweet and funny. He made me feel at ease with my nails and helped me make a better decision than I had originally planned. He was patient with me when I asked him the same question probably 3 times. Usually the drills make my nails really sensitive the next day but he was gentle and took into consideration the length of my nails because i have an 8 month old. In the 5 or 6 years I've been going to Venetian, I have never once seen Eddie be rude to his employees at all. He's always got everyone laughing, from the employees to the customers. I've been going there for a year and have yet to be disappointed! Eddie is the best! I had been other places and was leary of getting my nails done again because of how it hurt to get acrylic taken off and my cuticles torn up. I was cut by an elder female employee using a high-speed nail drill, and instead of showing concern, the manager dismissed the incident and the employee charged me a $10 'fee' for the cut. Furthermore, they failed to sterilize the tools or change gloves before continuing the service on my right foot. I am shocked by the lack of hygiene and customer care here.

I prefer the soaked cotton balls and foil method. It was still better than the peeling off method I've seen- yikes! I saw on reviews they have drinks available, like water, sodas and margaritas. I wasn't offered one. Maybe you're suppose to ask? Once it got down to it, my tech was very meticulous and really gentle with my nails. No flicking, tugging or pulling my fingers. She was very cautious with the electric drill and didn't cut me! (Big plus!) She listened to what I wanted and I'm happy with the shape and color. Afterwards, she gave me a brief massage. There is a 3% charge for debit and credit payments. May want to grab cash before going to save some money. My dip mani cost $45. Would say it's reasonable, especially for such a job well done.
