NOPE. It's weeks of planning, meeting, and corresponding by email. It's reaching out to every vendor the week of the wedding to lock down arrival and departure times the day of the wedding and answer every little question I or the vendor had so that the bride/groom wouldn't have to deal with ANY of it. So when it says "day of wedding coordinator," it's by no means just one day of work. Jackie is meticulous, organized, and just a joy to be around. She's a fun person! It put my mind and heart at ease knowing that she was taking care of everything (and this coming from a semi control freak). I was able to let go and enjoy being with family and friends. I can honestly say that the day of the wedding, I was so relaxed and a huge part of it was thanks to Jackie. Despite the fact that we hired her for day of coordination, this woman went above and beyond, and made sure I was on track and comfortable with my planning progress for OVER A YEAR. During each check-in meeting, and more importantly on the big day itself, Andrea was kind, thoughtful, professional, funny, prepared, and ready to tackle whatever was thrown at her -- and then some. Despite the flaws, our wedding was flawless in my mind, and the bulk of the credit goes to Andrea. I recommend her without reservation.

Initially, Andrea was good about communicating with us, and assured us she'd be available on our new 2021 date. She said that the services we'd already paid for would just transfer to the new date. However, Andrea kept saying she was waiting on an attorney to help her draft an addendum to our 2020 contract for the new 2021 date. We reached out periodically to check on the availability of the addendum and each time she'd say no update. (In comparison, we had already signed addendums with all of our other wedding vendors within 2 weeks of setting the new date.) Literally 15 months went by and there was no addendum or update from Andrea. Sadly, by the time our rescheduled Summer 2021 wedding date arrived, Andrea had completely stopped responding to **all forms** of communication. We tried all the previous ways of getting in contact with her, including calling her cell, leaving voicemail, texting her, emailing her, and messaging her on her client portal (HoneyBook). Complete radio silence. Andrea ghosted us, took our deposit, and left us without wedding coordination services. Initially we tried to give her the benefit of the doubt; perhaps she had fallen ill with Covid, or some calamity had befallen her, such that she was completely unable to respond to her clients in any way? But we saw she's been posting new updates on her Instagram page, so she's definitely alive and able to communicate! To this date as we write this review, we have had no response from her, not even an apology or excuse for her completely dropping the ball on all forms of communication. Thankfully, we proceeded with our wedding with the help of family and friends. But, given our awful experience with Andrea, we feel compelled to warn others. We are extremely disappointed with the dishonesty and lack of professionalism from Andrea Abel and do not recommend her at all.

From our first meeting (and working around my hectic schedule at the time) right up until the day of our wedding, Sunflower Event Planning was so easy to work with! Shantay answered all of my questions (and I had LOTS of questions) and offered lots of advice. She let me run with my own ideas but also offered help whenever I asked for it. I really liked that Shantay emailed me about a month before to check in with me and see how I was doing and she did this about a week before my wedding as well. She asked my opinions about things I would have never thought of and gave great suggestions. As soon as she had all of my vendor's info she was in contact with them setting up a time line for the deliveries as well as the pickup. On the day of the wedding she checked on me a few times to see how I was doing and how I felt everything was going. I love that she kept in contact so much - even day of! She had my timeline on her at all times and when we were ahead of schedule, I got to choose how to fill the time, which I so appreciated. Most of our families were from out of town so we didn't have anyone to collect the gifts and extras from the venue, luckily Shantay agreed to keep our stuff for us for a couple of days so we didn't have to worry about it. When we got our belongings from Shantay, she let us decide when a good time was, she brought all of our stuff to us and even helped us unload it! I truly cannot say enough nice things about Sunflower Event planning - I was probably the most relaxed bride in history because there was no reason to worry - they had everything under control! Shantay was very responsive to emails, texts and phone calls and so encouraging every time we spoke. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone hosting a party! She expressed that she wouldn't pressure us to do things any certain way, and that her main DJ was experienced enough to make anything work. We met her main DJ, DJ Hammer, and he was a very cool guy that made us feel confident. We were told DJ Hammer would be DJing our wedding unless something crazy happens. We liked him so we booked with Alma. Alma was usually available and returned emails and calls within a reasonable amount of time. We noticed that she was always "mid-crisis" so she seemed to have very serious excuses for every minor mishap. This didn't have a very big affect on anything. She also seemed very stressed. Fast forward to the wedding day. She called to say there had been an accident and that DJ Hammer would not be able to show. She didn't say if the accident was a car accident with injuries or if she had accidentally booked him at another event. No info. She said that she would provide another DJ and that she would show up to make sure everything would go smoothly. The other DJ was pretty good, but made quite a few mistakes. The dancing segments were awesome... totally fun, but some of the wedding "stuff" was kinda botched. He didn't have the equipment to mic the ceremony, the music was too loud during dinner (despite a bunch of people, including the bride, asking them to turn it down). He got the wedding party names all jumbled and mixed up so we came out in a mess. Alma never showed up like she said she would to smooth things out. I wrote her after the wedding to follow up and find out what happened. No response. In Summary, Alma was nice, kinda high-strung. All in all, the DJ wedding situation turned out pretty good, but we didn't get the professionalism of the experienced DJ that we were expecting. We also felt like Alma could have followed through more when things went wrong. UPDATE: Behold the power of Yelp! After finding this review (the content has been changed) she finally got back to us to follow up (almost 1month later). She insisted that this has never happened before and there was a very real crisis. Considering this and that the DJ performance was ok, and that this is the only review for this company, I changed my rating from 2 to 3 stars. Hopefully the next few reviews can show that this is totally a fluke.

She did face painting, story time with singing, took pictures, gathered and led everyone for the birthday song. She was in character the whole time and was always picture ready! Everyone young and old enjoyed talking to her and taking pictures with her. The process to book her was also very easy. I emailed, Sascha the owner responded quickly and we spoke over the phone. She walked me through what to expect, we made part of the payment over the phone and I gave the balance plus tip the day of the party. By the way:NO TRAVEL FEES. Sascha was easy to get in touch with when I had questions and both her and Alyssa called the day before to confirm the event and also to go over any last minute details. My daughter only wanted to meet Isabela and wasn't a big fan of Mirabel, so she was pretty devastated when we told her Isabela couldn't make it. It ruined the start of her birthday party. With that said, I know those things are unpredictable and there's not much anyone can do about it. Mirabel arrived on time and took on a big group of kids by herself. We were grateful for her energy. The organizers and actresses have all been very professional and responsive. I would still recommend them despite this one hiccup.

They provided the beautiful linens, did custom flower design based on my vision, and all decor for the ceremony and reception. They negotiated vendor contracts from chairs for the ceremony, to photographer, to DJ and limo service, saving us thousands. She finalized timelines for all of the vendors for me, and did all of the coordinating with them on everything, so this stressed out bride needed to do nothing other than know that it was all taken care of. They worked one on one with the general manager and assistant manager at the reception site regarding set up, timing, tear down, everything. The day of the wedding Shellie, the owner was a phone call away at all times, and she and her assistants were there until the very end. Erin was the assistant at the ceremony, making sure everything ran smoothly, while Shellie was setting up everything for our beautiful reception. During our rehearsal, Shellie and she were both there, and at the ceremony, everything went perfectly under Erin's guidance. When we spent a little extra time on pictures, and Shellie noticed that we were behind schedule, she asked if we wanted her to work out one more hour with the dj for more dancing after dinner. A quick yes from us was all it took and we were on. I can't stress how perfect everything was for our special day. Truly amazing.

We got married on Sept 6, and we couldn't have had a more perfect wedding without Shellie of Instyle. We met Shellie when we visited a potential venue that we were interested in. Shellie and her team were busy at work, preparing for a wedding that day. The first thing I noticed was how nicely they had decorated the venue. As busy as she was, Shellie took some time to speak with us and answer some of our questions. We considered other wedding coordinators, but after our telephone interview with Shellie, we were confident that we she was the right fit for us. We had many ideas that we were able to bounce off of Shellie and get her feedback on, which proved to be very effective in shaping our vision for our big day. Shellie brings years of experience to the table and was able to sort out things that would and would not work for what we had in mind. As everyone knows, there are a lot of moving parts for such an event. Between coordinating with all the vendors, the officiant as well as the venue and keeping us in the loop and on schedule with our tasks, Shellie had it all working like a well oiled machine! Now keep in mind we started working with Shellie a year before our wedding date. From day one, Shellie had us on track and made sure we were locked and loaded on all the key tasks that needed to be done right up to, through and after our big day. From figuring out the decorations that went with our color scheme to working with us on options that took into consideration our budget, Instyle was our single point of contact. With all that being said, no matter how much up front planning there is, things change, stuff happens and adjustments must be made. Shellie and her team not only navigated us through these waters, they shielded us from the typical stress and distractions that come along with it. Trust me, as a bride and groom to be on the day of what is to be a once in a lifetime event, this alone is worth it's weight in gold! On the day of our wedding Shellie and her team were nothing short of amazing. When the bride hits traffic en route, no problem, Shellie stages everything so that as soon as I arrive, what could have easily been a 20 minute delay turns out to only be a 5 minute delay. When we realize that the video we plan to show during the reception is washed out because the sun is brighter than ever at 6:30pm, the Instyle team on the fly rearranges the schedule, coordinates with all the vendors to make it an evening show after dinner without a hitch and all our guests were none the wiser as if it were the original plan! And last but certainly not least, her team was always on point watching us in case we needed something or had a question. From start to finish Shellie and her team went above AND beyond the call of duty. As a result everything came together making it a memorable experience that our guests are still talking about weeks after the event. Now I know there are reviews like this that I've read where it's so over the top that you can't help but to question it's authenticity. Well, we will always be a reference for Instyle, so if you have any doubt about the quality, value or effectiveness of Instyle's services, be sure to have Shellie put you in contact with us and we'd be glad to share our experience with you directly.
