When I first started, I was a complete beginner and had a lot to learn. Carmen was very patient with me and always took the time to explain things. I'll be honest--sometimes I didn't listen to her when she was teaching me something, but later on I realized she was right all along . Her patience, advice, and encouragement helped me become much more confident behind the wheel, and I'm happy to say that I passed my road test and got my license! I did receive a refund for my unused portions of the package I paid for. I enrolled as a complete beginner and made that very clear from the start. Instead of receiving patient instruction, I experienced an instructor (Michael) who became frustrated with beginner mistakes and raised his voice during lessons. It was also extremely fast paced for a 20 lesson full package deal. On my third day I was being taught a 3 point turn and parallel parking when I was not comfortable turning onto roads and being centered on roads. There were also communication and scheduling issues. On one occasion, I arrived for what I believed was my scheduled lesson, only to find out the time had been changed without any phone call, email, or text notification. Despite the instructor being available, I spent approximately 40 minutes sitting in the vehicle while he stopped at McDonald's and handled personal matters rather than conducting the lesson. During multiple lessons, the instructor took lengthy personal phone calls while I was in the car, including highly personal conversations that contained inappropriate language. As a student learning to drive for the first time, I expected my instructor's full attention and professionalism, not distractions and personal matters. What ultimately made me decide to leave was being told after only three lessons that my remaining lessons and road test had been canceled because I was allegedly "too nervous." I had attended every lesson, was eager to learn, and had only just begun driving. Although I was offered another instructor, by that point I had lost confidence in the school's professionalism and chose to seek instruction elsewhere. Additionally, while waiting for one of my lessons, I overheard another student discussing a negative experience he had with an instructor named Frank. Under normal circumstances I would not place much weight on another student's experience alone. However, after everything I had personally experienced, hearing another student express similar frustrations further reduced my confidence in the school as a whole. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this driving school.

Students who failed. Students who went to other schools he calls by ethnic nicknames. Their names, their situations, their permits read aloud while you sit there wondering what he says about you to the next person. You're paying to be told you're the problem. Rushing, not listening, resisting his hands on the wheel, answering wrong, breathing wrong. He'll say he could teach you in two lessons if you'd just follow him, which is a neat way of making nine feel like your fault. You're paying for a clock that runs against you. He watches the time to get to his next pickup and hurries through the end of your lesson, then calls it extra time when he gives you five minutes back. You're paying to be mocked instead of corrected. Uber driver. James Bond. Grandma. Whatever gets a reaction. It's not feedback, it's commentary, and you're the audience. You're paying to eventually be told to leave. Because that's where every honest conversation with him ends. Not with an adjustment, not with a plan, but with God bless and good luck, which sounds gentle until you realize it's him deciding you're done. I stayed longer than I should have. My one and only driving instructor - RUTH - was the best. She was patient but firm. I cried during my second lesson and she gave me the pep talk I needed.
