Thank you so much for fixing my tern e bike. I had previously booked an appt, but didn't have a tire or tube for my e bike. Once I ordered the tire, I had to reschedule due to a personal emergency. It's easy to book online. Cheaper than taking it to the closest shop that fixes e bikes or the shop I purchase my bike through. The closest bike store does not fix e bike tires. Like at all. I got text message from the really rad repair person. They even came a whole hour early to fix my bike. Then after, they fixed my kick stand which was wobbly since after I got the bike. Now it doesn't wobble. My kid isn't so scared to ride it, bc it did tip once. VeloFix team has been wonderful to work with. Lots of flexible times to have them come to you. If you're a busy person, or if you are a highly sensitive person who feels every interpersonal phone interaction where you're turned down huffily is unsettling, book velofix online and have them come to you. Friendly, easy, quick. It's been a while since I've been motivated to write a review, but this warranted one. Thanks velofix crew. read more

Great experience from start to finish! Brian was super informative when I called and did an excellent job assembling our trike. Such fair prices and skilled work! He shared extremely helpful information and tips and beautiful assembly. It is tuned perfectly and is so fun to ride. Super appreciative of his high-quality and friendly service. I'd highly recommend! read more

Not only is this Portland's best bike shop on wheels, I'd say it's Portland's best bike shop, period. Brian's Velofix rig is something to behold. Just schedule a time online and BAM a fully mobile, pro-level bike shop pulls up wherever you are. Brian is a walking wiki of bikes - he can work on all brands and all types. It's so amazing to be able to hang out and talk shop, while a professional mechanic gives your whip the care it deserves. The prices are super fair and he had a full tune-up for 2 bikes done in under 2 hours. I don't think I'll be dropping my bikes off at a brick and mortar ever again. read more

velofix - Bike Repair/Maintenance Near Me

Brian is awesome! I have had him inspect my assembly of two E-bikes, and straighten a defect in another bike. He is very skilled, personable, and prompt. He responds in a reasonable time and his charges are very reasonable. A major advantage to using his on-site service is that once you have decided upon the service that you want, you schedule it and your bike will be fixed at your place in short order, BY THE PERSON WHO DOES THE REPAIR. This is as opposed to leaving it at a shop where it may sit for a couple of weeks and is handed from representative upon contact, to scheduler, to tech, to representative upon delivery weeks later. Schedule early in the season, as this is a solo practice, and in demand during the warm months. read more

I'm new-ish to the Portland area and needed to find a bike mechanic. My former mechanic (in Seattle) was independent and did a really high quality level of work. Safe to say my expectations were high. I like the idea of an onsite/mobile mechanic to simplify things. I tracked down velofix via an online search, one day after filling out the online service request I received a call back from Brian. Scheduling was easy and it was less than a week lead time. He also asked the right questions that made me feel confident using Velofix. He also didn't over promise, I was told that one of the needed bike repairs might not be able to be accomplished without ordering parts. Brian was on time for the appointment. He also came prepared, when he looked at my bikes he mentioned some research that had done on the headset I thought needed replaced. We talked about bikes a little longer than we probably should have before he got to work. Everything brian had to say gave me more confidence he knew what he was doing. Not long after he got to work he let me know what parts were recommended to be replaced on bike #1 and gave me a couple of replacement options. The repairs on bike #2 weren't as straightforward, however, both repairs were made and recommendations were provided for future part replacements/improvements. Brian has an impressive attention to detail, very important for this type of work. The mobile repair shop is also very impressive. Every tool imaginable and plenty of standard parts available. I'd recommend Velofix for any range of needs. I didn't get the impression they would turn their noses up at working on less expensive bikes and they definitely have the background/experience to work on the most expensive of bikes. read more

So easy, good pricing, I honestly don't think I will ever haul my bike into a shop again. This option makes so much sense.

Pete stopped by and took a look at my Radwagon. I had about 250 miles on it, and was a little concerned about a dragging rear brake squeal and potentially loose rear spokes. He spent about an hour checking everything out, and in the end, no more squeal, smoother operation in every aspect, and I couldn't be happier. Scheduling the visit was easy and flexible. The Velofix business model looks fantastic from a customer standpoint, and I look forward to using the service in the future. Thank you Pete! read more

Fantastic service! Brian does top notch work, plus he's friendly, on-time, and offers fair prices. The mountain bike love of my life is in her 24th year with me and Brian treats us well. It makes me happy that I don't have to part with her for more than an hour (some shops want you to wait 3 weeks for a summer tune-up) and that he takes care of her right in front of my house. It's also nice that he doesn't try to sell me a new bike, nor does he lecture on the awesomeness of dual suspension and the lameness of all-rigid mountain bikes like a local shop I used to deal with. A+ for Brian at Velofix! read more

Very friendly and knowledgeable! Brian always is willing to work on your bike and for the budget you can afford. I feel like I can trust him as a mechanic since he doesn't ever pressure me into expensive repairs. I've learned quite a bit from him and he'll be my go to for any bike related questions for sure. read more

I'm a returning cyclist and recently picked up a used bike. Everything worked fine and I'd put about 100 miles on it during my first month but thought I should have it gone over by a pro, just in case. I scheduled an appointment with Brian and couldn't be happier. The bike was good before but feels fantastic now! Beyond servicing my bike he was great to chat with and gave me some advice. I'll definitely use Velofix and Brian for all my bike maintenance, for what you pay the quality of service is a bargain! read more

This service exceeded my expectations. I wanted to upgrade my bike with a new wheel set and new components but my schedule did not allow me to time to get to "normal" LBS hours. I came across this service and figured I'd try it out and was not disappointed. As soon as I placed my order I got a call from Brian to talk about the details of my build. He was personable and professional and made me feel comfortable. He came to my area of town to pick up my bike early so as to have it built and ready to go at the time of my actual scheduled appointment. He did a complete overhaul of my bike, taking everything apart and cleaning everything on the bike and even polished the frame. The bike looks amazing and Brian's attention to detail is evident. He talked to me in detail about everything he did and offered advice on how to change things to better optimize the bike. Furthermore, he made himself available if I had any questions or problems after the drop off. The price I paid ended being cheaper than what was quoted online - I only paid for the services needed and a few extra bucks for wire housing. What a stand up guy and what a fantastic service. Highly recommend Brian and Portland Velofix. Will definitely be using Brian from here on out for all my cycling repair needs. Thanks, Brian! read more

I'm an avid triathlete and have always taken my bike maintenance seriously. I trust no one more with my Cervelo P3 than Brian Link at VeloFix. He has great attention to detail and treats my bike as if it were his own. I've used him for power meters installs, Di2 electronic shifting upgrades, replace brake calipers, overhauls, and pre race inspection and tuneup's. I've never been disappointed. He's on time, every time. If your looking for a bike mechanic in the Portland metro area, I highly suggest you look him up. The great thing about VeloFix is that they come to you. I was looking at taking my bike for a tune up after a recent move. I called a few bike shops locally one tried to diagnose my bike over the phone, the locations were not convenient. Called Brian at Velofix, he told me what to expect and I asked him if he could do a quick spot check on my other two bikes as well. It was super easy to schedule and he comes right to your house with his van. He was on time and exceeded my expectations on all aspects of my tune up, he is super knowledgeable and explained everything thoroughly. Got all 3 bikes dialed in within the hour. Highly recommend Brian and Velofix for all your bike needs and repairs. read more

Brian was super accessible, met me at work and installed my power meter in no time at all. He even paired and calibrated it to my Garmin. Really pleased with the ease, timeliness and competitive pricing. Will certainly do more with him and recommend to my friends and family. read more

My rear disc brake wasn't working and the front brake was pretty unresponsive. I made an appointment at my place of work and he was there when I arrived on my bicycle. It turned out that the hydraulic line for the front brake had broken and leaked fluid on the disc. Brian said he would have to order a new line and it would take a couple of days. Off he went with my bicycle. He texted the next day that he had the part and I got my bicycle back! He went out of his way to track down the part and I am very happy. Velofix Portland is the most amazing mobile bicycle repair shop! Brian is an excellent mechanic and person. read more

I purchased an ebike off of ebay - called several local shops and they didnt want to work on it. So I called Velofix - got a call back fast from Brian - and i made an appt. online. He came and did a tune up and replaced a brake pad all for a reasonable price. Knowledgeable and gave advice too on what to do when as far as upkeep and maintenance. Good service at good price and they come to you for mobile service. read more

Wow! Made appointment online, Brian showed up right on time, and about 1-1/2 hours later both of my bikes were in great shape. All work was done in his van - which truly is a well-lit mobile shop. Brian fixed a spoke and tuned up my everyday bike and also tuned up my road bike. Super convenient, fair prices, and is very knowledgable, experienced and friendly. I would use again in a heartbeat. read more

We had Brian and velofix come over to our business to tune up my bike. He did a great job on the tune ups and repairs and his knowledge of bikes is beyond impressive. After he finished with mine I went and got more bikes of mine and my son's bike too. My employees got in on it as well. In all he tuned up or repaired 4 bikes that day. We had him back a few weeks later for service on even more bikes, including a rebuild of one purchased online. What makes Velofix a great service? An amazing mechanic like Brian. I like the fact that I no longer need to leave my steed at the shop for 4 or 5 days for a tune up. Also, I trust and know who's working on it. read more

Brian drove his bicycle repair van to my house. He arrived at the appointed time and I rolled my bike to the van. A couple of hours later my bike was completely overhauled. The price was comparable to other shops I have used. I never had to leave my house. Brian is probably the best mechanic and bike fitter in the Portland/Vancouver Metropolitan area. HIs van is completely outfitted to do any type of repair or overhaul. read more

Brian Is awesome. He came to my shop, and built my new Sondors Custom. He originally thought it would take about a hour to assemble, but took 2. He had to fix some issues with the bike the way it came, out of the box, and also added some additional parts he had on the truck to make my ride more comfortable. He stuck to his original price, and also gave me a run down on how the bike works. If you are in need of bike work, hes your man. I should also mention he has great response time, and is very friendly. This is the type of company I like to do business with. Thanks Brian! read more

Brian is the best mechanic I've ever hired. I put a lot of miles on my bike as a daily commuter, and I do some basic maintenance on my bike (greasing, cleaning, minor cable adjustments), but wear and tear had caught up to my bike, and it wasn't much fun to ride. I was considering getting a new bike, but thought I'd check in with a mechanic to see if it was even worth attempting. Brian looked over my bike and showed me specific issues that were making my ride less pleasant. He gave lots of options for how to fix those things, and the cost of those options. He tailored his recommendations to my needs, and told me about some issues which don't need to be fixed right away, but that I should keep an eye on. He happily answered all my questions, filling in a lot of gaps I had for years of riding. I felt confident that he was going to take great care of my bike. Once we agreed on the fixes, he worked on my bike and finished it right when he promised (this has been a big problem with other mechanics), and it was like getting a brand new bike! I've been riding it for a couple months and it's still riding very well -- I could not be happier with his work. read more

Brian Link is an exceptional bike mechanic! He's very meticulous and detail-oriented when it comes to his approach to bike repairs. By simply changing the cable housing on my cyclocross bike, he gave me much better braking power with my disc brakes. He's been fixing my all of my bikes since 2008, and I've never had an issue with his work. To top it off, he's very personable and listens to what you have to say. He won't recommend replacing items that are still serviceable. read more

I had a bike shipped to me in a box so when I found out about Velofix I was excited. Brian was fast and professional, he gave me several tips about my new bike and when I told him I hadn't ridden a bike in 30 years he was super helpful and non-judgmental. The price was very reasonable and I would 10/10 recommend. It was so easy and made me feel more comfortable and excited to ride! read more

I was stressed out wondering what I would do for a mechanic for my high end carbon fiber bike when I moved to this area. Only the person who made the bike had ever touched it and now what was I going to do? My shifter cable broke on a ride and I had to find a mechanic. As luck would have it, a very kind cyclist from the local bicycle club happened by and tried to assist me to limp the bike back home. He recommended Brian Link with Velofix and assured me that Brian would know what to do and I would be very satisfied. Brian, the Velofix mechanic, was very courteous and prompt in setting up a next day appointment. Brian exceeded my expectations in being knowledgeable, courteous, efficient, and very reasonable with rates. He has a completely self contained bike shop in his van and took care of the problem, and was even proactive in addressing imminent problems of which I was not even aware. He had the bike done within an hour and I had zero problems taking it out for a ride the next day that included a lot of hills. read more
