Vegan tapas in Barcelona! I was excited to see this spot right near Plaza Real and loved its decor, expansive menu, and beautiful high ceilings.
I ordered their cheapest white wine, the teriyaki eggplant kabobs, the cheese plate, and patatas bravas. I was very impressed with the white wine (still so amazed by how cheap glasses of wine are here, especially because they are local and quality!). The eggplant kabobs had eggplant, vegan chicken, a singular grape tomato. They were fine. It felt filling enough. There were a total of two. The patatas bravas were cut way too big, and I didn't love the way the mayo melted on the hot potatoes. I appreciated the saffron and felt they were overall well seasoned. The cheese plate had two house-made cheeses (wish I had a pic) and wasn't super aesthetically pleasing -- it was jam, green grapes, raw walnuts, and these two cheeses (pre-cut) alongside some crackers. All of the ingredients tasted well together, but were nothing exceptional as far as vegan cheese goes.
Service was prompt, location is super convenient, and I think their menu offers a lot of variety and a lot of opportunity to get close to more authentic Spanish food (rather than the Mediterranean or Asian options that are common). I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it, either. Would go back if in the area and try some more things. read more
