Came with a date or w.e :) and the food wasn't bad, but the company was way better :). There weren't too many spots that called my name. There was like 12 food options, but only a few called to me. The Birria Tacos from Pachataco were alright. They definitely better when sauce was added. I was looking forward for the food truck Xanath Kitchen for their Birria Tacos, but they weren't there. The Nashville Chicken Tenders at Compton Vegan were goodd though! Soft, but the chicken batter was good! And fries were crisp and seasoned. I liked his food more than mine, hahahah. And for dessert, the Ube waffle looked amazing, but tasted like paint. Ugh. Ube is a vibe, but I didn't enjoy it. It was a cool experience, but nothing I'll race to come back here again.

Love that this market exists! Nice choices of vendors. I would love it if there was more commitment to reducing all the waste that gets produced here. Also for businesses with no brick & mortar locations some of the prices are a tad steep - unfortunately furthering the misconception that vegan food is always expensive. Aside from that, nice to have a vegan one-stop-shop on Sundays.

I went on a day with not much going there due to the weather. There was still a good selection of vendors & most importantly, good vegan food! Everyone I interacted with was friendly. The area was clean. Heads up, it's a pop-up on the street, so prepare for portapotties & street parking. I went to Id-Eclair, The Donuttery, The Plant Lab, & the beer garden. Id-Eclair brought me back to my childhood. I was finally able to eat meringues. It had been years since I'd had them. I never cared for macaroons until I tried these. The cookies were good. Nothing was overly sweet, which I preferred. Now, my favorite was the framboise! Those were yummy with the right amount of ingredients. The Donuttery has artisanal donuts, which is something I crave frequently. The selection was amazing, especially for my friend with a gluten allergy. My fave was the pb&j donut. I'm not a big sushi person; I decided to give The Plant Lab a try. I ordered the Fungus Roll. I ate it with no hesitation. That's how bomb it was. Also, the gyoza was good too. My food took longer than I thought, but it was all fresh. The beer garden is a fenced-off area where you can order alcoholic drinks. I boughy a random can this time. It was good. I'm excited to go back soon & to update with what I try next.

Long standing partaker in Vegan Excgange Los Angeles off Bakham and Chandler just across from the LA Metro Orange Line and North Hollywood Red Line Station. I've tried everything from Clean South and Compton Vegan (both soul food inspired plant based spots that pop up from time to time here) to Fancy Juice and Yerba Mate (got to stay hydrated) to Cinnaholics and Donut Farm (the sweets). It's so easy to get lost in this small, but super extensive Sunday market of eats, beverages (non-adult), sweets and vegan friendly people and merch that includes apparel, essential oils, candles, sunglasses and so much more. Though every Sunday from 11am to 5pm they have been incorporating a lot of fun elements most recently karaoke for your entertainment pleasure. They've had themed 2 hour events including couples mixers with food credit, lgbtq+ friendly mixers and just all-inclusive Sunday Funday awesomeness. Vendors rotate around but dont worry a lot of popular ones are pretty consistent with showing up every week like Man Eating Plant... best garlic noodles in the world. Vegan Hooligans is also an repeat offender that never lets you down until the start running out of food and trust me food can run out so try to attend before 2 to 3 for your first time. The parking situation isn't half bad (pretty much only street) as this event is off any major main streets and while it fills up fast during mid day... early morning (which is also the best time to wait in the lettuce feast line that never ends) and the last few hours thin out if your driving... being so close to two metro lines... it also makes for hassle-free travel all-around. I cant say enough good things... portable bathrooms that are relatively upkept as are the tables and benches throughout this weekly event... constantly being wiped down and cleared. Everyone apart of making this exchange thrive from week to week is a treasure. A great place to mingle and munch whether you're plant based or plant curious. Don't forget to put it on the gram and on Yelp!

Beyond stoked to have the opportunity to check out this awesome vegan food fest while in town. So many delicious food and drink options, it's hard to choose. It's a rare treat to go to an event where I can safely eat anything on the menu. So I took full advantage. Best thing hands down is the cinnamon roll from All About the Cinnamon. Covered in cookie butter and Biscoff cookies. To die for. My daughter got the pizza fries from Vegan AF. They were disappointing. Very little flavor. Picked up a cute vegan shirt and some stickers as souvenirs. The festival could benefit from some shade and seating. Wear sunscreen. Worth the visit.

Everything everywhere VEGAN. This place is open every Sunday from 11pm- 5pm it's a collection of vendors and food trucks. We tried The Plant Lab which is a all vegan sushi truck, it was soooo good. Lots of kool crafts and products. The ambiance was great all the vendors were super friendly in their service. The vendors ch age every week I believe so you can keep coming back to try new vendors. LOVE IT!

But Saturday was cool, Clover's grass was green, and the atmosphere was indeed festive. There were several options for free or metered parking in supervised lots within walking distance, making at least our vehicular arrival and departure quick and painless. After leaving the car, we made a beeline for the park's restrooms, where, as it typically happens whenever we step out to a fairground, we spent a considerable chunk of our visit waiting our turns in slow-moving lines. Plenty of music filled our ears while we waited, especially the notes coming from center stage, where a featured group, The Lions, sounded particularly captivating. We quietly joined standing watchers later on, just in time to see The Lions wrap up their soulful and energetic gig. Festival treats were also close at hand, so we couldn't miss tasting Linde's old-fashioned sugar roasted almonds. We followed our noses to her popular table where I impulsively grabbed us a couple of warm paper cones in a sweet twofer deal. Linde jokingly asked if we were unable to share, to which I honestly replied, "yes." It was a fair-tastic time. The usual apparel gifts and arts-and-craftsy things were available for passers-by to browse and purchase, and interactive activities engaged families, kids, and kids-at-heart. It seemed apparent to us after one walk-through that the city government was out to connect with and educate visitors in exchange for cheap swag and fun, with a number of public service kiosks that let you spin wheels and answer questions for prizes. We didn't get around to checking everything out (see Tess M.'s yelp here: http://bit.ly/11hmlqO for some neat things we missed), but all in all, the Festival was pleasant and low-key, which is pretty much Santa Monica in a nutshell.

Then it became SO CROWDED that you literally could NOT WALK or get to anything! People were bumping into each other trying to get anywhere. With the pandemic still very much so at large, we are very limited to these types of experiences, but Insomniac was able to pull this off, while still keeping everyone safe. I wish we were asked this in the beginning, but I wonder if they've been able to fix this problem since then. Yeah, it adds up and it doesn't seem worth it, but if there's 8 of you in the car and split the tab, it isn't too bad. We came through on a Friday night. We opted for the VIP package and bypassed pretty much everyone (that line looked like a thousand miles long, so that alone threw all regrets, doubts and second thoughts out the window!) Bypassing the long line was one thing, but then my passengers' bladders decided to go in sync and in unison all needed a bathroom break BEFORE the drive. The VIP package came in handy once again - they have a separate set of porta-potties for VIP peeps, too! Needless to say, there were no lines there either. So, yeah, off to a good start. I didn't really know what to expect, so I decided not to expect too much. There were a lot of mixed reviews on Yelp (complaints were mostly about the cost) so I kept an open mind. THE VERDICT: Totally WORTH IT. This whole production was well put-together. It was beautifully created with a lot of imagination. The engineering and construction alone were astonishing, how long did it take them to put it all up! And I really liked that they coordinated all the lights' movements with the music coming off the assigned radio station (107.9.) And those souls braving the cold as they entertained us with their dance moves... KUDOS! (I didn't get to see what's in the VIP box but going by how each of my passengers went through it like the Tasmanian Devil, I'm gonna assume whatever was in there was fun!) If this is your thing, here are a few tips: 1) Entry is at Holly and Huntington NOT at the main entrance. If you do end up at the main entrance, they'll reroute you. No worries. 2) You can come through as early as 30 minutes before your scheduled time, but try to be there within that window just for the sake of being considerate. The whole thing is about 45 minutes to an hour, all depending on how slow or fast you go. 3) CLEAN YOUR WINDSHIELDS! I meant to, but I completely forgot. But even with the semi-dirty glass, it was still pretty good. 4) Sunroofs are great! I didn't have one (wouldn't have mattered if I did since I was the one behind the wheel) but I was sorta jealous of the peeps who made full use of it. I imagine that's the best way to experience it. 5) You are allowed to open your windows. Just watch out for fog machines... 6) Take your time and let it all sink in. If you can afford it, I highly recommend it, something cool to do social distancing style. It's an event for all ages and a great excuse to get out of the house more especially during these challenging times.
