It was hard to make it here during my trip to Phoenix because of their limited hours, but I am SO…read moreglad I did. As a health food vegan, I am always on the lookout for food like this: whole foods/plant-based, including some oil-free options. Their whole menu reads like a list of my favorite food buzzwords: buckwheat, lentil cauliflower scramble, sunflower seed meat, local fermented sauerkraut, freshly milled Sonoran wheat; tempeh, sourdough, homemade seeded bread, homemade cashew milk, etc. etc. It was legitimately hard to decide what to get. I went with the baked(!) strawberry banana oat buckwheat pancakes. Super tasty, and a generous portion. I also couldn't resist an oil-free sunbutter cookie (with its wacky bluegreen tinge that was apparently from the sunflower seeds) and also loved the cold brew coffee with cashew milk.

It is a little pricey, however, it's worth the cost. As I mentioned, everything is healthy and made fresh. You can't get that without paying a bit extra Their bread is so good, the chutney is awesome, their little side salads are so tasty. I haven't tried anything here that I have not loved. They are a small husband and wife run business, which is always great to see. They are very friendly people who clearly love what they do. There's limited seating indoors, as it's inside Barnone, but you can easily find places to sit outdoors as well.

From the first bite, it was clear this wasn't just cooked food, it was made with intention. Hot, fresh, flavorful, and straight from the soul. Let's just say Tabitha Brown wasn't lying--everything is good. No exaggeration. This is comfort food done right. No shortcuts, no bland plates, just real flavor and care in every bite. Very delicious and absolutely worth the hype. Tips: Parking can be limited and the wait can be long, so come prepared. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and definitely use the restroom before you arrive. Trust me--you'll want to focus on the food once you get it.

(the only way you're able to place an order) I went to pick it up at the time that was given on the app, my credit card was charged immediately. When I went to pick up my order, they were closed. The Sign with the hours of operation were posted and stated they should have been open. I went back to my car and called the phone number on the app, which was a recording. I left a message with my phone number for them to call me. The next day I received a text that said my money was refunded which it was, everything but the tip I had left. I never received a call from them, no acknowledgment at all as to why they were closed and why they kept the tip. I am in the F&B business and no, they could have refunded the total amount that was charged to my card, but they decided to keep the tip. Pretty disappointing and unethical. Edit: I appreciate the response from Nana's kitchen, but it was not just a "bank processing delay" I left my phone number on the recording and asked for a call back, which I never got, had that happened I would not have had to leave review. Communication goes a long way.

I ordered the Masala Dosa and it's a new item for me. Masala dosa is a popular South Indian dish consisting of a crispy, savory crepe (dosa) made from fermented rice and lentil batter, which is stuffed with a flavorful spiced potato and onion filling. It was served hot with complementary side dishes like sambar (a lentil-based vegetable stew) and two chutneys, one of which was a fragrant coconut chutney. I had a fun time and a delicious lunch with my spin class crew. Arguably, we had the best legs in this spacious, clean eatery. I am DEFINITELY coming back to get more dosa.

I ordered the Cheese Butter Masala ($22.99) with an order of Garlic Naan ($6.99), and wow. Rich, savory, buttery in the best way. It's yhe kind of dish where every single mouthful feels unreal. The sauce was luxurious without being heavy, the cheese was indulgent, and the naan was perfect for scooping up every last bit. This spot proves vegetarian Indian food can be bold, comforting, and satisfying. I can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu. Highly recommend if you want flavor and a meal that makes you pause mid-bite like, "Hold my gym bag, bro."

Everyone (including the Filipinos from all over the United states) was raving about the food and the catering team set up, broke down, and made the whole experience a joy, even in all the sorrow. We had BBQ skewers (they went FAST! Get a lot!), lumpia (chicken and pork, but we sampled the vegan ones and they were amazing as well, get more because these went faster than the skewers!), Kare Kare (so tasty), Beef Kaldereta (classic and delicious), and Ginataan, Biko, and Mango Shortcake (soooo perfect). But, we all know adobo is the benchmark in filipino food and My Tita's Kusina's is the bomb for sure. We made the leftovers into a great silog breakfast the next day and it was heaven. I can't say enough how delicious the food was, and you can tell it's all cooked from the heart. If you're vegan, Melissa made some of the most interesting and wonderful vegan versions of Filipino food I have ever tasted. I know our family will be coming back to the area hopefully very often to spend time with my brother and his kids here all together and we know who we're calling for the good stuff! After working out on a Saturday morning, a group of us came to Tryst Cafe for some good eats. The pineapple added a nice freshness. - Espresso martini ($13 - Three Olives vodka, coffee liqueur, Amaretto, Irish Cream, and a shot of Espresso): Not the most exciting espresso martini or the strongest but one that hits the right notes. I also totally stole a good portion of my friend's garlic parmesan fries. They tasted a little greasy but they had such a nice crunchy coating that it didn't matter. They offer Gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian dishes so there should be something for everybody.

Not too busy of a shopping area so parking was easy. I walked inside and a staff member asked if I was picking up, and had my food ready to go. I didn't ask for utensils and thankfully they didn't give me any. They do have them available on the side if needed. I liked that they had free stickers so I took two. It wasn't busy when I stopped by, just one couple dining in, but they had a few bags for takeout so that seems to keep them busy. Ambiance was nice with good amount of seating. I decided to have lunch in the nearby preserve and I enjoyed my food. I ordered the chickn sandwich, buffalo style, with a side of fries. The sandwich was delicious! Loved the flavors and it was filling. I'm glad I got it Buffalo style because the spiciness was great. The fries tasted good but were soft rather than crispy, which is what I prefer. I also got a side of cheez sauce ($2) which was pricey considering the size, and it didn't taste like cheese or anything similar. I would pass on this in the future. I ordered their Brussels sprouts which came with a side of tahini sauce, but they were salty and yummy so the sauce wasn't necessary imo. Overall I love vegan food and I wish there were more restaurants that serve it. This spot is solid and I'd come back to try other menu items and support them.
