We spoke to the veterinarian and they told me I probably know more about the situation than them because I do animal rehabilitation. Well that wasn't what we expected after calling ahead of time. Speaking with the staff...they are definitely friendly and respectful for the animals coming to their practice, but they should have told us they didn't have much experience with prairie dogs. I feel like it was a wasted visit of almost an hour drive one way to be told I know more about my prairie dog than the veterinarian. Expensive visit which would have been worthwhile if we had any type of answers. Sad visit.

They took one look at him and knew he was bad off. They immediately took my baby and rushed him to the back and begin working on him. They allowed me to stand there and observe everything they did to my King. I am a medical person and I am familiar with the processes of triage patients with emergencies. The physician performed a sonogram and began to tell me my options of care. I had to make the most difficult decision in my life. I decided not to be selfish and to have my King put to rest. This facility not only comfort me, but my family as well. They gave us a room and told us to take our time, they offered refreshments and continually checked on us. They just went out of their way with compassion and concern. I have never experienced this type of Customer Service in my entire life. It made me and my family feel heard and understood about our wishes. Once my family completed our goodbyes and they put our King to rest, they comfort my family, some even shared tears with us. They gave us things to remember our baby boy King that I will cherish forever.This hospital will always hold a special place in my heart. This is a place that I would love to work at and be proud to say that I worked there because each and every person who works in that building are Gods angels, and truly care about the animals that they treat. I will always be grateful. I know this was God's plan because it all went perfectly. Yes, I left without a dog, but I now have a new family that I would cherish with my other pets. The doctor and nurse took the time to listen to me explain what was going on with my dog. After the exam they gave me some options. I chose to go with a prescribed ointment and an oral steroid to help her heal. I was skeptical at first....could this ointment really help this persistent infection? YES it dramatically improved her skin infection overnight. The doctor was absolutely correct (and I'm sorry I didn't get her name). I had previously taken my dog to her regular veterinarian but unfortunately the $$$ in treatment she received there didn't resolve the problem. I prayed to god the night before for wise counsel, and the Lord sent it to me via Dr. Miller. I felt bad for taking up so much of his time when there were other families waiting in rooms, but I needed the generous gift of Dr. Miller's time to navigate the difficult choice of ending Apple's life, the compassion he showed me (never abandoning me) while making it. When you enter BluePearl, a triage nurse meets you at the door to sweep your fur baby up, immediately start taking vitals, and get their arms around the situation. They send you to a room to wait. Yes, you wait. But while you're waiting, they are gathering information so that when it comes your time to see the vet, it's not a 5min swoop in and out, they spend time to walk you through observations, gather more details, and help you navigate difficult conversations if end-of-life is required. It's taken me a while to write this review because every time I think about it, I get angry again…read more We brought our yorkie in late one night because she still wasn't acting herself after seeing our normal vet for a foot infection from a grass seed. She was on antibiotics and a steroid and we noticed she still did not want to drink or eat. When we got there, we were told that they were a little busy and there would be a wait, which we didn't mind. When we were called to the exam room, we told the tech what was going on and our girl was brought to the back for an exam. She was then brought back and we were told "she looks fine and is doing the way better compared to the other animals currently being treated." I asked if they needed to draw blood to check anything and I was told it was not necessary. A week later, we noticed a steady decline and took her back to her normal vet who discovered she was in severe kidney failure with numbers so high, the machine could not register. We wonder to this day if the staff that night took the time to care for our dog, if we could've had more time with our girl. Or at least been able to say goodbye to her in our own time.

By the time I got him there he was having a 2nd seizure. The entire staff dropped EVERYTHING and triaged him on a table. He was stabilized, given anti seizure IV medication and was 90% back to normal in under 15 minutes. We chose a plan and even knocked off a very big ticket item because he responded so well to the meds. They were so professional and caring he fell in love with the entire staff during his visit. He even made the rounds to give all of them thank you kisses. While I hope we never have to visit again, if we do it's such a comfort to find an ER vet that doesn't take advantage and price gouge you in your most vulnerable moments...unlike others I've had the displeasure of visiting in the past.

The doctor didn't even acknowledge us as we walk out. Not even a you're welcome to our thank you! Unprofessional, unorganized, no compassion or care about the clients or patients. I would never recommend this hospital even if it was the last place on earth! Update: Two days later. Called and spoke to Cheyenne about our experience. Felt heard, felt compassion and felt true concern about myself and my kitty. She advised she would call me back. Instead Dr. Hoge called me back and was very apologetic and showed a great deal of concern for our experience. I believe that the team we had this horrific encounter with creates a bad name for this ER and for the veterinary field as a whole. My dog was experiencing a serious medical emergency, including vomiting, bloody diarrhea, and visible signs of distress. Before making the drive, I called ahead and was told that we could come in and that my dog could be seen. After driving nearly 50 minutes with a very sick animal, we arrived only to be told that they had decided not to take any more patients. At no point during our drive were we contacted or informed that their availability had changed. Instead, we were turned away at the door while dealing with an urgent and frightening situation. I understand that veterinary clinics can become overwhelmed and that emergencies happen. However, confirming that a critically ill pet can be seen and then refusing care upon arrival is unacceptable. Every minute matters during a medical emergency, and the time we lost making this trip could have been spent seeking treatment elsewhere. What made the situation even more upsetting was the complete lack of empathy shown for both my pet and my family. We were scared, stressed, and desperately trying to get help, only to be met with a decision that should have been communicated before we drove almost an hour to the clinic. I would strongly encourage this clinic to improve its communication practices and patient intake procedures. Pet owners rely on the information they are given, especially during emergencies. No family should have to experience the frustration, stress, and delay in care that we did.
