She was on antibiotics and a steroid and we noticed she still did not want to drink or eat. When we got there, we were told that they were a little busy and there would be a wait, which we didn't mind. When we were called to the exam room, we told the tech what was going on and our girl was brought to the back for an exam. She was then brought back and we were told "she looks fine and is doing the way better compared to the other animals currently being treated." I asked if they needed to draw blood to check anything and I was told it was not necessary. A week later, we noticed a steady decline and took her back to her normal vet who discovered she was in severe kidney failure with numbers so high, the machine could not register. We wonder to this day if the staff that night took the time to care for our dog, if we could've had more time with our girl. Or at least been able to say goodbye to her in our own time.

They are programmed to serve us until the end, and I believe this is why my sweet girl hung on for so long - for me. I called in December 2024 because I was visiting family and had forgotten my dog's prescription for incontinence "proin" and was worried about it. The staff was totally unhelpful and stated they would need to do a full annual exam for it. I told staff they can call her current vet to discuss the diagnosis of incontinence and see her full up to date vet records. The unhelpful lady stated this was against TX law. This is a lie as the law is "For Schedule II controlled substances, a written prescription must be issued on an official Texas prescription form or through an electronic prescription that meets all requirements." Proin is not a controlled substance, and staff was unhelpful and rude to simply get another annual visit in. I don't think most people lie about their dog's veterinary diagnosis. But I had up to date records to confirm that. There is no reason they could not have responded reasonably with an uncontrolled substance for a week. Staff/Owners, you're in a state where dog populations, abuse, and euthanasia rates are some of the worst in the country. Do better. The great news is, I skipped my dog's prion for a week and learned her current vet had diagnosed wrong and she's not incontinent and never took the pills again.
