    Our sweet cat was feeling lethargic and began to avoid food lately, so we decided to visit this emergency vet clinic because they seemed to have positive reviews (it was also past midnight when we took him). They ran a few tests: bloodwork, FELV & FIV, and ultrasound, but ultimately found nothing of concern. I mentioned that he's been having trouble eating/chewing because it looked like his jaw would "twitch" and he would growl whenever he brushed against something. They just brushed it off to, "That's just how cats are when they're eating." Ok... He loves to eat and it was never an issue before, but I took their words anyway. They replenished his fluids with an IV and administered anti-nausea medicine, along with appetite stimulants. The vets didn't say anything about his pale gums or his right eye's third eyelid covering the eye constantly. In addition, the nurses were not helpful at all. During my visit, most of them were just sitting nearby on their phones instead of actively attending to my cat. Only one nurses and one doctor was attentive and my cat was the only one that was in the building. After the lab work was done, everything came back negative and that there was no "concerning symptoms" other than a fever. And yet, they didn't want to administer any medication because they didn't know if it was a viral or bacterial infection. Alright, fine, I asked them if there's anything to do be done in order to help him. They said to keep him indoors, under surveillance, and to monitor for any changes. The place sent us home with 2 more doses of appetite stimulants and a whooping bill of $811. $811. Just to be told that he's having a fever, with no medicine to help him and appetite stimulates to help him "eat". I sucked it up and told myself that's just how these cat vet visits are. Fast forward, he's been indoors ever since, been growing weaker and weaker, and becoming more and more lethargic. I've listened to the vet, gave him appetite stimulants, hand fed him, carried him to the litter because he was too weak to walk on his own, and did anything possible to keep him stable. I scheduled a vet visit at another place, until I found him this week: unresponsive, eyes blurred, and not reacting to any pain stimulation, like how he was previously. My boy passed away. Felt no more breaths, no more heartbeat. I couldn't help but wonder if I should've sent him to another emergency vet that night.

    Quite literally the best. Their facility is well upkept. The people working here really care and are patient and thorough with you and your animal. I was having money problems and they worked with me. Very understanding, empathetic, and if I could give 10 stars I would. Big shout out to Dr.Hughes and Katie

    My 26 year old African Grey Parrot was struggling to breathe late at night. I'd used VEG 24hr ER for my cat there before and knew they were so very compassionate! The nearest 24 hour bird vet was all the way in Athens. I knew that Even though VEG DOES NOT HAVE ANY EXOTIC BIRD AVIAN VETS they would at least give him much needed oxygen and with great care. That's exactly what they did! They kept him in the hospital's oxygen room all night and his private nurse checked on him every hour. I couldn't sleep at all that night from worrying about my baby, so I called at 4:00am and asked the man that answered the phone to go check on him and then I asked him to wave at my sweetie. He did. My best friend got the best attention possible from vets that knew little about birds. However, they called an avian vet for a variety of questions until midnight. I cannot thank them enough and will forever be grateful for what they were able to do for my best friend. I would do it all over again and I highly recommend VEG to anyone!!!

The surgeon updated us daily (sometimes twice a day), and everyone was so friendly when we called for updates also. The place is clean and well-staffed. Everyone was kind and helpful. They genuinely seem to care about the critters and their people. They offer emergency care 24/7 as well as specialty care. This will be our "go to" spot for emergency and specialty care.

They took her back to examine her immediately. They put me in my own private waiting room because I was a mess and crying which I really appreciated. I was honestly dissociating the whole time so I can't even tell you what the wait was but triage came back and talked to me and told me it was probably her leg and asked permission to do an xray. Through out every step they were very transparent about pricing and told me all my options once it was discovered she had 3 fractures in her leg. The office is nice and clean. They have a Keurig with tea and coffee as well as some candy snacks. They also have a water fountain by the desk and tissues in the waiting room they put me in. I opted for orthopedic surgery after reading about the surgeons that worked here. She was going to stay in the hospital and get labs done and have surgery the next day. They let me see her and spend some time with her before I left. I had to take out a care credit loan and paid for the high end estimate before I left. The hospital kept me very updated on her status, and I got a call from the surgeon before her surgery and he explained everything and answered all my questions. During discharge I got a thorough explanation of the after care and meds, as well as a thorough discharge instructions paper. It's only day three in her recovery but she is improving everyday and already starting to put some weight on the leg and tolerate longer stretches of her physical therapy exercises. Her stitches are so neat and perfect you can barely tell they are there. I am so grateful for the team that worked to save my precious Questa's leg and for always being so kind and patient with communication and my questions. If you have a serious emergency and are nearby, rest assured they will do everything they can to provide the best possible care for your pet.

The client, in all of her excitement, shared that she was going to be working with a professor trainer (me) in a bit. Amanda, who identified herself as a manager, told my client that she needed to leave the store... I came in calmly, introduced myself to someone who was texting at the second cash register, and proceeded to ask if there was a way to salvage things. I explained that this woman had already spent close to $200 on grooming, treats and toys and that I didn't think she needed to walk away feeling this way about the company. Amanda was curt, rode and combative. Those of you who have been there know this. Those of you working with her know this. And those of you in charge of managing her have heard this complaint (please check the camera footage from today been 2PM-3:30PM. Even as I attempted to de-escalate and salvage this situation, she unfortunately fell into the "it's our policy" loop that people unqualified to manage anyone or face time with clients say when they've run out of patience and the ability to reason. The unfortunate part is we don't ever come to this location. Their reputation in the working dog world proceeds them. We weren't there to train at that location. We were there to buy supplies to train at my client's favorite restaurant about 100 feet away. Even after presenting my credentials and trying to reason with this person I was told I was being rude. It's all on the camera. I reminded her that her job, like mine, is a customer service job. And that stockholders were relying on her to get this part right. She simply would not let up. So here it goes, and so we are clear: Amanda, while you may have believed you were right, your aggressive and combative approach prevented you from discovering why we were actually there: TO BUY A TOY AND TREATS TO TRAIN WITH NEXT DOOR! You went out of your way to offend a paying customer - an active customer who came to your place with their new puppy. You robbed her of what should have been one of the best days of her life as a new pet owner - the first day, those first treats, and that first toy. That's a really crappy thing to do. That's the literal opposite of your company's mission statement. Had we been there to train, that would still absolutely be the wrong approach. The mistake was mine though. I sent her to you. I won't ever make that mistake again. So instead of the $167 she had ALREADY spent (we've since returned everything), you get a bunch of bad reviews. Ego concerning the wrong part of your job is why they should let you go. Your coworkers silence let me know this is who you are. The example you set for him was gross and the exact opposite of what you are there to do as a "manager". Management is a complex job no doubt. The moment you lose sight of the absolute fact that you are CUSTOMER SERVICE, you begin the countdown to your eventual and inevitable separation from the company. So good job. You win. A policy is not meant to be an excuse to abuse and destroy a customer base that doesn't belong to you. Nielsen reports 97 percent of consumers read online reviews, and that they trust reviews as much as recommendations from friends and family. To have a fighting chance in today's digital world, your business needs to be consistently getting new reviews. And you just got one from a globally respected K9 subject matter expert, university instructor, certified K9 SAR instructor and Training Director for one of the world's foremost institutions. I am willing to bet a few people will understand the significance of this review. Oops. P.S., A quick Google search reveals that Petco has more negative feedback online about this policy than they have positive reviews about the training they offer. May be worth considering if this policy serves your customers, your employees or your shareholders. Seems to be costing more than it's worth.

Luckily, the process was seamless! Their website really gives all the information on what to expect . No surprises! I knew there would be a temperament test that cost $25. I knew I had to pay 50% down for boarding. The staff were efficient and friendly at the front desk area. The webcam was very useful for our worried selves! And, we knew pick up time on Sunday was between 6:30-7:30p! Very good experience for us first timers! Murphy came home happy but very thirsty! That was my only conundrum!!! Next visit, I'll ask if he has regular access to H2O odo they only provide water at specific intervals. Updating my review to 5 stars for excellent customer service-The same day I posted my review, someone from The Dog House called to answer my conundrum! Wow! That was unexpected! Water given in intervals and public water bowls in common areas.
