Our mini Schnauzer, Murphy, spent his first overnight away from home at The Dog House. Me and the misters went away for the weekend without kiddies or the pup for the first time in 10 years.....sad I am aware. Needless to say, I was more worried about the pup! Luckily, the process was seamless! Their website really gives all the information on what to expect . No surprises! I knew there would be a temperament test that cost $25. I knew I had to pay 50% down for boarding. The staff were efficient and friendly at the front desk area. The webcam was very useful for our worried selves! And, we knew pick up time on Sunday was between 6:30-7:30p! Very good experience for us first timers! Murphy came home happy but very thirsty! That was my only conundrum!!! Next visit, I'll ask if he has regular access to H2O odo they only provide water at specific intervals. Updating my review to 5 stars for excellent customer service-The same day I posted my review, someone from The Dog House called to answer my conundrum! Wow! That was unexpected! RUN!!! My rare, purebred poodle was impregnated while boarding at The Dog House Austell LLC. We were burdened with all the responsibility of seven (7) additional dogs. The owner Brandon acted like he was doing us a favor by boarding the dogs that was created from their negligence. Their insurance said they won't cover the damages. WARNING: AVOID AT ALL COSTS I want to start the review off by saying that I had taken my dog to The Dog House for more than two years before this most recent experience. They would reach out if the food ran out or anything happened to my dog. However, the business has greatly dropped off over the past year. Since I was going to be gone for 2 weeks, I wanted to ensure my dog was able to go outside so I elected to pay the extra money so my dog could go outside. However, THIS WAS A MISTAKE and I couldn't believe what I saw when I picked my dog up. She had bite and scratch marks all over her face and body, in addition to dried blood in many areas. I asked the owner (Brandon) if anyone was watching the animals while they were outside and he said someone SHOULD HAVE been outside but couldn't confirm. Why would someone pay for their dogs to be let outside and not be supervised? My dog also "ran out of food" even though I packed extra bags. I even picked up my dog EARLY and they couldn't tell me when my dog had be fed last but swore we had enough good. However, they couldn't find any of the extra bags I packed. On top of all this, they improperly had their costs listed on their google site, which the owner (Brandon) said he would correct. Unfortunately, it took me submitting a complaint to my credit card company before he finally addressed the overcharge. After all this, the owner offered to give my dog the bath that I had initially asked for but I would NEVER leave my animal in their care again so I politely declined. In summary, The Dog House failed to deliver on every aspect of their business and I would never recommend to anyone who cares about their pet's safety. read more

I wish I could give these MURDERERS 0 stars. These disgusting individuals were paid an egregious amount of money and trusted to train our family dog. While en route to our routine visit, they called to inform us that our dog "wasn't doing well" and needed to see a vet. No less than 15 minutes later, we arrived to find no one at the front desk. After a bit of prodding, we finally saw our dog passed out, dehydrated, and clearly not breathing. No explanations were offered aside from "the owner had the yard treated yesterday", obviously implying that lawn care killed our dog. Instead of the owner discussing this with us, he sent his minions to report that our dog's stomach "flipped" (which a simple Google search shows that this rarity happens among older dogs - not year old puppies). Clearly distraught, these people offered no clinical advice - a vet was not on call and not once did they offer as much as a phone number or website for emergency care. Please beware of these people. They lack accountability and simple grace, and frankly this establishment should be SHUT DOWN. If you are currently using their services, I implore you check on your dog immediately. As pet owners, we make investments and charge ourselves with loving and caring for our beloved animals. Had we known that signing our dog up for this level of "care" was actually a death sentence, we most definitely would have thought twice!! As of Sept 2015, this place has only been open for 3 weeks. I was cutting through the Austell Rd LA Fitness parking lot - thanks to my disgusting craving for a McDonald's filet-o-fish sandwich and I stumbled across them. But I digress. The facility is large and appears to be kept meticulously clean. They offer doggy day care for $22 per day. And if you need a full day & overnight stay - the cost is $35 for a Comfort Suite and $42 for a VIP Suite. They also provide grooming services and quoted me a VERY reasonable price for Gizmo's sani areas and paw pads. The Deluxe Grooming package includes a bath, nail clipping, ear cleaning, anal gland expression and hair cut - all for $45 (so watch out PetSmart - more and more boutique groomers are beating your so-called affordable prices). Hadi, the owner, seems to be a kind, compassionate, knowledgeable individual. We spoke at length about pack mentality, marking, the importance of doggy socialization and exercise. You can tell he really understands the anxiety owners face when leaving their pets alone with 'strangers.' I also love the fact that they have web cams in play areas - so you can check on your pet during the day. I'm thrilled to have found this place and hope they stick around! read more

I've never had a bad experience here. Charlie my Poochon gets super excited when I pull into the parking lot. Customer service is always great, whether over the phone or in person, and they are always excited to see Charlie. He's been to daycare several times and boarding and I would never hesitate bringing him here. Nice to know that he's having a good, fun-filled day and I can see that thanks to the webcam. read more

It seems like they have made some changes since my dog has last stayed here. The price for boarding does not include daycare. So your dog doesn't get play time with the other pups unless you also pay for daycare. My concern is that my dog is in a crate all day. Although I'm told they go for several walks a day. During my last stay I asked for a tour of the facility. They really just took me right past the door behind the counter. I did not see much. I noticed that there are several crates in the back that they called "condos." They look like regular crates being used for when they are crowded. I have a chihuahua and I believe she was in one of those "condos." When I picked her up she had red swelling between her toes, like she had been standing in a crate for a week. I have used this location 3 or 4 times and I have never been able to see my dog on camera. I just don't feel comfortable boarding her here. read more

Love that they have indoor play yards for dogs and that they temperament test each dog that stays in the facility. They even have web-cams so you can peek in on your baby during the day. I made an appointment for my dog to have a temperament test which is required prior to having him boarded. I dropped my dog off for the 4 hour test and explained to the representatives in person (as I also did on the phone when originally scheduled) at drop-off that my dog has cushions and was on daily medication. As a result of that disease and medication there was no way that he could go 4 hours without having to go to the bathroom a couple of times at least. When I returned at the end of 4 hours to pick up my chihuahua (who is fully housetrained and doesn't have accidents) he was badly soiled in his own urine that I had to wash his bed from car ride home and give him a bath. I was then told he couldn't be boarded because he didn't get along with the staff, but was ok around other dogs in play area. Perhaps the staff didn't bother to allow him to relieve himself before forcing him to participate in 4 hours of testing (being handled by staff, placed in play area, walked around, etc.) all while having to potty due to daily medication. I wouldn't recommend using this facility. read more

Though I received a response to my email we will not be returning. I took my 21lb puppy for the temperament test. I requested she tested with small/medium dogs that did not happen. She was with the big dogs for 4 hours which is dangerous for a puppy. I was told she was shy and after telling several who know my puppy this, they said that is absurd. My dog wanted to leave, also unlike her and go home. Her ears were matted with drool and she was very off. Not tired off, but even hesitant to be home. She clearly had a poor experience. TDH doesn't allow you to watch a live feed of temperament testing. Based on how she acted when I brought her home and ignoring my request for size group, we will not be returning. read more

Picked up my dogs from overnight boarding at 7am (this was our first time boarding here) and the little one had not been let out since 6pm the day before and he peed in his crate. When I came to pick him up he was a mess. My other dog had not been fed the night before because they gave me his bag of food that was full. Management apologized several times about this incident so we decided to give it a second chance. When we brought them back for boarding, we were not told the hours of pick up, which were 6-7pm. So we were unable to pick the dogs up when we wanted because no one made us aware of the pick up times. We requested for them both to be bathed before pick up and that didn't happen either. Regardless of the problems we had, I just disagree that they leave all these dogs here overnight with no supervision. The lack of communication going on within the group is not good either. Anytime there was a problem, the front desk employee always blamed someone else. I say all this to say that reviews seem to be mixed, but our stance is that even with the convenience of the location we had to take our dogs somewhere else because the employees here were unreliable and their way of operating is unacceptable for us. read more

My phone decided to start a different yelp account, so I have switched to my correct profile. We were looking for a boarding place to trust and everytime we have to go out of town on a spur of the moment our Vet is booked, SO we have to try kennel after kennel. I will say that this place has earned my full time business!!. A key thing is a kennel that will not show you the actual kennels, but a picture or give some safety excuse for not showing you. The Dog House did not give any grief to show us their Kennels. I do not like that you have to have a pet temperament evaluation that they charge you for. However they did call and apologize this was not better communicated. SO after 4 days here is the good bad and ugly- Good, in other review i mentioned there was no place for the dogs to lay down, outside of the hard floor when they are left in the play area, your pets will be here most of the day. They read my review and actually added a few beds, and sure enough every time i logged in 1 or 2 dogs were laying on them. There is always someone walking the floor of the play room, it is always kept clean and I like there is a person there to have a quick eye on any rough behavior. being able to log into and see the camera is a big plus, it cuts out a small portion of the area, but not much. The bad is- if your dogs are not used to a highly active environment, it can cause a little stress to them, so make sure your dogs are fine in large packs. The ugly- when we picked up our dogs they were in good shape, but either they were bathed too early or not dried enough, they both had a strong kennel smell when we picked them up. Our Afghan had large matts, this is not unusual since Afghans need daily brushing, but he was extra matted, I am sure from all the activity and playing. over all this is a 5 star Kennel and boarding. I would recommend this to everyone and anyone looking for a good option for boarding. The staff is friendly, the owners are responsive to questions, the facility is clean and modern and you get camera access. Price is really fair. Highly recommended. read more

I really wanted to love this place because it's so close to my home. My dog has been 4 times now and I just can't do it anymore. Two visits ago she went for daycare and within a few days became severely ill and had to be taken to the emergency vet to the tune of over $300. She had gotten sick from someone else's dog who was allowed at daycare that day. This last visit she stayed for 2 nights of boarding. When she goes for boarding I always proportion her meals into individual bags to make it super easy. I was horrified when I picked her up and half her food was returned to me. She was starving when we got home and smelled so bad. I had to bathe her right away. I also mentioned how sick she got the time prior when I dropped her off and the girl laughed and said oh it's the weather. I am disappointed but I cannot use this facility anymore. read more

Started taking our puppy here for daycare. He is a rough player and can be a bit much but the staff here are great and seem to have patience with him. He is super excited every time we walk up to the front door and can't wait to get in the back :) The facility seems pretty clean and the pricing is fair. Also love the cameras (although I wish they were a bit clearer and maybe offered a few different views). One thing lacking is an outdoor area for the dogs to go in/out of in play area but not a huge deal. Overall I recommend! read more

Our two pups love it here. Bradley (male Akita) & Bailey (female GSD) first received some basic training by Hadi. Well worth the time spent and money. We all love and trust this place so much. The boarding is very convenient, they always do an impeccable job with grooming, & the most important thing is our pups always come home happy. I don't understand the the crappy reviews. The front desk always asks for updated vaccine records & the staff are ALWAYS asking the right questions no matter how frequent our pups are there. The facility is very clean and smells good too! Don't trust them with your dog! I tried their day care, when I picked my dog up 4 hours later his eyes were bright bloodshot red and he was panting heavily as if he been choked for the 4 hours he was there! When we got home he ran to his water dish. Upon investigation there we red marks on his neck as if he'd been choked, or at least handled too roughly! NEVER AGAIN! read more

Long review- because our pets are important!-So Since our vet is always booked whenever we need a last minute boarding - it is always hit or miss, Some places don't let you look at facility saying "for insurance or safety" if any place says that DO NOT USE THEM. The Dog house I will say i was a little skeptical about. The reason it is not 5 stars is they tell you they need a temperament test, which is good but they don't mention it cost you $$ for that testing. This could have been an over site, but still it was a surprise, but after i thought about it, it was good to have the dogs there for a quick stay and see what happened. I did place high value that they actually showed me the Suites the dogs would stay in. Again any boarding they will not show you pins and keeping area, you should avoid at all cost. The Dog House did show me!! I was concerned that the dogs came home a drank like they were dieing of thirst, so a quick call to our vet and some research, i found this to be not so uncommon. After i got my answers i called the dog house and was highly impressed, they explained the exact same findings, dogs in a new environment that is highly active simply forget to drink. They did pretty much pass out when they got home, like a day at the park. So i dropped my dogs off today and was really happy i could actually watch them on web cam. The play area is pretty plain, it would be nice to see a few more areas to lay down, but not sure the dogs would even do that, I did see some laying down on the floor. BUT every time i watched i have to say i always saw someone in the area, mopping or walking, which is a good thing knowing someone would be close should anything happen. My dogs will be there over the next 5 days, I will update this post to give final review. There are some good details to note: Smaller dogs are kept separate, people in the play area majority of the time, Constant mopping and cleaning observed, The windows to the area have a higher paneling to prevent excessive heat from lighting (in the south we all know what that means). I called The Dog House this afternoon to inquire about grooming services for our new pet. The young lady who answered the phone said I had to go online and set up an account and then call back and she could schedule something for me. This didn't seem very personal or professional , but I went online and filled out the info and attempted to set up new account but system would never set up the account or give me any messages as to why not. I called back and and told the young lady and asked if that was the only way to do business with them by setting up an account on the computer 1st-she said no you can do it on your phone! Seriously, I had to laugh at that answer and then asked if I could only do business with them if I set up a new account online 1st and she clearly became irritated with me and said "just hold on" to which I replied no thank you-you have told me all I need to know about your business. WOW! I think she was just too lazy to ask me the information and input it and then was bothered by the fact that I questioned her. Oh well, too many other groomers in the area. I have used all services the TDH offers including boarding, daycare, grooming, and board and train since I moved to Atlanta four years ago. They have become like family to me and my dogs. I truly can't recommend them highly enough. My pup Sky just completed his six week board and train program with Hadi. He went in a very hard to control boy. He is going to be bigger than me soon (Great Pyrenees Mix) and I knew that Hadi was the only person I would trust to board and train my dog for six weeks. As a trainer, Hadi is exceptional. He is patient and loving while training each dog to perfection. No problem behavior is too much for him! He does not use pain or punishment to train dogs like nearly every other trainer. Don't believe people when they tell you they train with shock collars but it doesn't hurt. No way. Hadi is too good at what he does to have to resort to that. And he really loves dogs. It is obvious. It was so wonderful to watch my boy transform over the six weeks from out of control pup into a highly trained and obedient young dog. It filled my heart with joy to see how much he actually ENJOYED this program. He loved being there and working daily. He was eager and excited to train and learn and he bonded very strongly to Hadi, as my girl Asha did in her time there (she still loves him and recognizes him almost two years after we moved and she stopped attending daycare). As a business owner, he is successful for a reason. He cares very much about his clients and treats everyone with the utmost professionalism and kindness. He is always so mild mannered and if any issue arises he cares very deeply and does whatever it takes to fix it. This is the type of person who earns my loyalty and business for life. I have already referred several people to TDH and will continue to do so. If I ever had to board them again, I would go out of my way to drive them to TDH because it's the only place where I would have no worries, knowing they are loved and cared for as they are at home. The only regret I have is that we have now moved to a different town and so my dogs now have go to a different daycare. No place compares to TDH so everywhere else is just a huge disappointment. TDB provides the best dog services anywhere in the Atlanta area. Their customer service and delivery is impeccable. The money I spent on the board and train program is the best money I've ever spent. My very large dog is an excited and and silly, but now obedient, one year old! You have made my life and my pup manageable again! Thank you Hadi and staff!! read more

My pup Cruz has been going here since he was 4 months (he's 11 months now) he did the training for 6 weeks, daycare, boarding, and baths regularly and we absolutely love them! His training was great they taught him basic manners and socializing and made it very easy for us at home. He does boarding and daycare often because my job has me travel and he gets so excited to go! Oliver and Erin are the most amazing staff and groomers! Cruz sheds so much but they have been able to keep him from shedding for weeks at a time! If I could give 10 starts I would! You would not be disappointed! read more

This place is clean, safe, and all about doggies. All the activities are inside so you don't have to worry about your pups being out in the hot heat or cold weather. The staff does take them for a short walk over lunch so they can go potty. I love that they aren't trying to hide anything. They even have a webcam to check out your babies during their stay. Some of the the other doggy daycares I toured in the area have tinted windows and do not offer tours of the facility. This place is a diamond in the rough. The staff is so nice. EEK! MEKNOWS SO!!!! We have boarded our dog there 3 times, but this time was the worst! Just picked him up, and he was supposed to have been bathed. His eyes were full of gunk, and he smelled like a barn! I emailed them during the week with my concerns. You would think that a 5lb. Yorkie would not be an issue to clean. The sad part about it was that he was damp, but not bathed. We paid $285 for horrible care. I saw it on the video cam. My little guy was kept with much larger dogs, and never once did I see an attendant with the "small" dogs. I sent double the amount of food that he needed or would ever want, and he came back with 1 cup. Where is the rest of it? This happened last time. These are just a few concerns. I've paid this price for a 4 day cruise. Thank God I have made reservations at Regal Begal for spring break! read more

Terrible facility, I returned early from a family vacation because of the incoming weather and happy to see my girls but, as soon a the young lady got them from the back, they we panicked, disoriented and just wanted to get out of the building, then there was an unmistakable stench of urine, to which the young lady stated that they may have went inside but one or two accidents doesn't coat their whole body. I left a blank with them with my scent, that I was give back to in a bag, the young lady stated it my be wet, that's an understatement it was filthy and when I took a quick whiff of it I almost vomited. No pet/family member should ever be subjected to this type of treatment. The owner and staff should have no business dealing with animals. Using this facility worst mistakes I've made and regret! read more

This place has only been open for a month, maybe a month and a few weeks. I've been taking my Yorkie Kingston here for about three weeks now and he seems to LOVE it! When I pick him up he's drained, I Love that. Anybody who knows anything about a Yorkie or owns one knows they are very active so I'm happy. I love that I can watch their activity online. I laugh because sometimes Kingston is getting spoiled like he does at home. It's always clean when I go and the smell is great also. I love that the workers are frequently cleaning/mopping while the dogs are playing. I can't tell if it's because someone has used the bathroom or if they just spot clean every so often either way it's good. Lastly their groomer Jessica is GREAT!! Their prices are awesome and the products they use keeps my dog smelling fresh, a lot longer than me bathing him at home. The owner is also nice he remembers my face and my dog name. So far so good. If you need daycare their def the place to go. I haven't boarded my dog yet but their suites are nice also! read more

The guy at the front counter checking us in for our temperament test was super unfriendly. Didn't greet my dogs at all, couldn't even remember their names. Never greeted my dog, or put his hand out to pet him or anything and my dog was obviously nervous because he's never been to daycare before. Came at him with a leash so obviously my dog panicked. You would think they would have experience meeting and greeting dogs as to not freak them out. The girl on the phone told me one time to pick them up, the guy at the counter told me I had to pick my dogs up an hour earlier than I was told and so I wasn't able to leave my dogs for care after all, after driving 30 minutes there to take them. None of the women in the back greeted my dog or me. No one said a word to me, just dirty looks. There was a super cold and uninviting environment. I wouldn't trust my dogs to go there ever. They seem very inexperienced with pets and like they didn't want to be there. Can't remember my dogs names after repeatedly confirming names, unorganized and change times on you the day of, and their careless attitude is super off putting. There are tons of others dog day cares in the area, don't waste your time on this one. It makes sense as to why their parking lot is always empty. read more
