There was one particular staffer who was extremely condescending from the start. Another patient was very surprised at her tone with me considering that I was nothing but polite and respectful to her. On top of this, she continually scheduled me at times that were not the most convenient but I tried to make them work. Apparently, she also thought I "had the audacity" to ask if he could review some test results and explain them to me. I was made to wait THREE hours past my scheduled appointment before Dr. Moretti finally saw me. Once I made it into the exam room, he took calls from other patients. That visit lasted less than 10 minutes if you include the numerous interruptions. I saw how much they charged my insurance company and at those rates, I should have gotten a focused visit at minimum. Obviously, that was the last time I went there. NOTE: If you look at your medical bills, be sure he doesn't charge your for a full hour if he hasn't given you one. If he makes you wait, calculate how much it costs for you to lose time at work and charge the difference right back. There was a woman in Santa Ana, CA, who made the news for doing exactly that. Doctors need to understand that it's not just their time that's valuable. I'm taking a screen print of this review because I've reviewed this guy THREE times already and noticed that the reviews fail to stick. No doubt that the "positive" review will coincidentally appear to counter this negative one.

I am talking can barely take care of daily functions, and not "can't have a job"disabled. Let's put it this way: unless you have a clear-cut, non-complicated, by-the-book disorder, it's not a problem to find a great doctor. If you have something like I was blessed with, radiation-induced, untreatable horrifying drug-resistant thyroid shit, good luck getting anyone to listen to you. This man is a Vietnam war vet, a traditionally trained M.D. with training in holistic (no, its not a cuss word made up by hippies-it means nutrition, bio-identical hormone therapies, general disease prevention and an open mind fused together in one skillful approach). He's been around the world acquiring medical and spiritual knowledge alike and is unlike some other independent practitioners around town bases his knowledge on advances in modern science, and does a lot of research in order to successfully combine standard and alternative (hate this word as well because it usually means "new medical research your closed-minded specialist forgot to read") treatments. He would listen to you and pay attention, it actually seems important to him what you feel and think regarding your condition. He does not misdiagnose you on the spot so he can get rid of you, and will take many paths to figure out how to help, as old-fashioned family doctors like my grandmother did. I only pray now that I could be treated, and we could figure out a way, we've kinda lost hope. Even if not, i would be proud to have known him. Breath of fresh air in the sea of self-important, egotistical, close-minded pricks who are abundant in this field of study today. He reminds me of my Grandfather- a decorated war vet as well, with a sharp, inquisitive mind, good sense of humor and a bit of healthy skepticism and no-bullshit attitude thrown into the mix. Great person, great doctor. Seeing him is not cheap, but its well worth it because our life is not a rehearsal no matter what Jehovah's witnesses tell ya :-), this health is only one we've got.

I will use the word genius also to describe Dr. Lynn. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and I was devastated and of course was searching for "something" that would help. I went to see Dr. Lynn and the wealth of information, expertise and knowledge that Dr. Lynn shared with me turned my life around to one with hope, purpose and a future. It took a couple of years but my condition at the time was, I had to quit working, I had somebody else to do my housework and I basically stayed in bed or in my room all day and I would watch my son outside playing through the window. I followed the advice and reccommendations that Dr. Lynn gave me and eventually I had seven children that I have raised basically alone and I went back to work, back to my college education and basicallly led a normal life. Medical Insurance does not cover Dr. Lynns services but it was the best spent money of my lifetime. Optimal health is a great deal in the hands of the individual, what they choose to eat, the nutrition they supply thier body and the mental attitude they live life with. Dr. Lynns care can fine tune those aspects of your health and provide you with tools to take charge of your own well being and fight for health and life. Some of the things he does might seem unimportant to the average person but when you give it some thought everybody knows about the importance of nutrition but very few people pay much attention to it on a daily basis. We are bombarded by chemicals, pollutants, toxins, stress, smog, smoke, and pesticides constantly. We need to keep in tip top optimal health to counteract the deleterious effects of the environment and the food supply we are exposed to. Physicians are not magicans but Dr. Lynn comes as close to this as I've seen. Combine all this with your regular medical care and you will be amazed at what a difference it can make for you. The disease process happens when we leave an opening for it to come into our lives. I am looking forward to making another appointment to see Dr. Lynn ASAP and I cannot stress enough the importance of what he has to offer, All it takes is an open mind, a willingness to take responsibility for your own health and the knowledge that this man will share with you. After reading Shannon's beautiful and transformative book Born Far From Home, I felt so drawn to…read morehaving a homebirth. I loved reading about Shannon's journey to Islam and birth work, and how her faith and spirituality intertwined with her midwifery care. I also enjoyed reading the compelling birth stories and the beautiful way in which she writes about birth. I especially felt connected to her book as a Muslim woman who was curious about homebirth, but wasn't sure if it was for me. Once I finished the book and had my first appointment with Shannon I felt confident, reassured, and excited about having a homebirth for my first baby. Since the start of my prenatal care with Shannon, I felt so comforted by the amount of time and personalized care she dedicated to us by listening to our concerns, answering our many questions, and providing the guidance we needed during this special time in our life. Her level of knowledge and expertise combined with her warm and comforting presence brought us ease during such a delicate time. I also have the same great things to say about Tara who was the second midwife to be present at the birth and meet with us for the postpartum appointments. Tara also has such a warm, beautiful, and comforting spirit and has been such a pleasure to meet with. When expressing the troubles I have with breast feeding, she has been so sweet and reassuring and I really appreciate the level of care she not only provides for our baby, but to me. I feel so fortunate and blessed to have had a successful and empowering homebirth with the utmost care and support from Shannon and Tara and I highly recommend them. When the day came to give birth, having her there made me feel so safe supported and empowered. If I was ever to do this again, I would not hesitate to use Shannon and her team and have another home birth. She was a great help in setting up the initial meetings with doulas who she thought would be a good match for us and figuring out schedules and such. During a postpartum call, she was so kind and empathetic. I just can't say thank you enough to her for her kindness. Doula Thais was our birth doula and was amazing in every way. She was incredibly supportive to both my husband and I, helping us navigate the unknowns pre-birth, during labor, and afterward. I had some medical issues crop up that required an extended postpartum stay and she was so so kind and continued to reach out and check in on me, which meant SO much to me. We also did a baby wearing session with her and that helped both of us feel more comfortable that we were wearing our baby correctly (those darn things have so many darn straps and snaps and doodads, lol). Regarding postpartum night support, we had initially gone with a doula (who ran her own business) that we hired outside of Redwood Doulas. Within two weeks, we were desperately looking for other help as this private-doula-for-hire was just not jamming well with us. We reached out to Kymberlie and she was able to help us do some trials until we found a doula we matched well with. We were able to snag a couple weeks with Doula Ivette and we loved working with her just as much as we did with Doula Thais! Doula Ivette came in the first night and was able to identify that our baby was gassy and helped show us different techniques on how to de-gas her! We continued using those techniques for the next few months while our baby's digestive system was sorting itself out. We weren't able to continue with Redwood Doulas after a few weeks as we had contacted them too late and we weren't able to find continuity of care with just one doula. For this reason, we decided to hire another private-doula-for-hire outside of Redwood Doulas and similar to our first experience doing this, this private-doula-for-hire just was not as professional as the doulas from Redwood Doulas. I bring this up to highlight that our experience with Redwood Doulas was truly exceptional. I contacted and spoke with A LOT of doulas and different agencies around the bay area and the team at Redwood Doulas was my favorite to work with. They were always ON TIME! Which is like SO FREAKING KEY when you're a first time parent holding a baby who has been screaming their head off for hours hours and nothing you do is working and you need a break from that damn yoga ball bouncing you've been doing! Lol. When my private-for-hire-doula would come late, the intense baby screams tears at you every additional minute you're waiting. But Redwood Doulas never did this to us. They were always on time- thank. goodness. Lol. So all in all, work with them!! They're awesome. (Open to DM's if anyone has questions, etc!)

Redwood doulas was responsive to help us get another interim doula right away. Doula Thais stepped in to help us super last minute. She was extremely professional and helpful. We were triple feeding when we first got back from the hospital, so doula Thais would every three hours bring me the baby, then bottle feed her while I pumped, then clean all the bottle and part pumps. When she left in the morning all of the bottle and pump parts were cleaned and organized and ready for the next day. She listened and helped us figure out our game plan for the nights. She was very communicative about her availability and it was great she was able to help on such short notice. We only had her for a few nights but would definitely recommend her to anyone considering her, she even followed up asking about our baby and how she was doing weeks later! Doula Suely was the other doula we worked with. We worked with Sue for about 7 weeks and she was so critical for helping us get peace and sleep. She was great and easy to work with and schedule shifts for the week. She went along with whatever schedule and plan we wanted for the night. But when we were uncertain about something, or wanted advice for reflux and spit up she was extremely helpful with her advice. You could tell the love and care she had for our baby! It's nerve wracking handing your baby over to someone for the entire night but it was so easy to trust Sue. She helped us get some extremely critical sleep and always ensured my pump parts and the bottles were clean in the morning. We ended up extending our contract by three weeks because Sue's help was so critical to our family. I can't recommend Sue enough!!
