We went with Redwood Doulas for a night nurse. Our baby came 3 weeks early so our original doula was initially unavailable. Redwood doulas was responsive to help us get another interim doula right away. Doula Thais stepped in to help us super last minute. She was extremely professional and helpful. We were triple feeding when we first got back from the hospital, so doula Thais would every three hours bring me the baby, then bottle feed her while I pumped, then clean all the bottle and part pumps. When she left in the morning all of the bottle and pump parts were cleaned and organized and ready for the next day. She listened and helped us figure out our game plan for the nights. She was very communicative about her availability and it was great she was able to help on such short notice. We only had her for a few nights but would definitely recommend her to anyone considering her, she even followed up asking about our baby and how she was doing weeks later! Doula Suely was the other doula we worked with. We worked with Sue for about 7 weeks and she was so critical for helping us get peace and sleep. She was great and easy to work with and schedule shifts for the week. She went along with whatever schedule and plan we wanted for the night. But when we were uncertain about something, or wanted advice for reflux and spit up she was extremely helpful with her advice. You could tell the love and care she had for our baby! It's nerve wracking handing your baby over to someone for the entire night but it was so easy to trust Sue. She helped us get some extremely critical sleep and always ensured my pump parts and the bottles were clean in the morning. We ended up extending our contract by three weeks because Sue's help was so critical to our family. I can't recommend Sue enough!! read more

We loved working with Redwood Doulas and would highly recommend them! Kymberlie is SO incredibly warm, understanding, empathetic, and compassionate. She was a great help in setting up the initial meetings with doulas who she thought would be a good match for us and figuring out schedules and such. During a postpartum call, she was so kind and empathetic. I just can't say thank you enough to her for her kindness. Doula Thais was our birth doula and was amazing in every way. She was incredibly supportive to both my husband and I, helping us navigate the unknowns pre-birth, during labor, and afterward. I had some medical issues crop up that required an extended postpartum stay and she was so so kind and continued to reach out and check in on me, which meant SO much to me. We also did a baby wearing session with her and that helped both of us feel more comfortable that we were wearing our baby correctly (those darn things have so many darn straps and snaps and doodads, lol). Regarding postpartum night support, we had initially gone with a doula (who ran her own business) that we hired outside of Redwood Doulas. Within two weeks, we were desperately looking for other help as this private-doula-for-hire was just not jamming well with us. We reached out to Kymberlie and she was able to help us do some trials until we found a doula we matched well with. We were able to snag a couple weeks with Doula Ivette and we loved working with her just as much as we did with Doula Thais! Doula Ivette came in the first night and was able to identify that our baby was gassy and helped show us different techniques on how to de-gas her! We continued using those techniques for the next few months while our baby's digestive system was sorting itself out. We weren't able to continue with Redwood Doulas after a few weeks as we had contacted them too late and we weren't able to find continuity of care with just one doula. For this reason, we decided to hire another private-doula-for-hire outside of Redwood Doulas and similar to our first experience doing this, this private-doula-for-hire just was not as professional as the doulas from Redwood Doulas. I bring this up to highlight that our experience with Redwood Doulas was truly exceptional. I contacted and spoke with A LOT of doulas and different agencies around the bay area and the team at Redwood Doulas was my favorite to work with. They were always ON TIME! Which is like SO FREAKING KEY when you're a first time parent holding a baby who has been screaming their head off for hours hours and nothing you do is working and you need a break from that damn yoga ball bouncing you've been doing! Lol. When my private-for-hire-doula would come late, the intense baby screams tears at you every additional minute you're waiting. But Redwood Doulas never did this to us. Our experience with Redwood Doulas was fantastic and an integral part of our first baby's birth. I would highly recommend them for both birth and postpartum support if you are looking to be truly taken care of mentally and physically. Kymberlie, the owner, was so gracious with her time in helping us find the right doula pair for us and also understanding what our needs were as first-time parents. Throughout birth and postpartum she continuously checked in on our well-being. Tess & Maria were our doulas through the birth and postpartum process. Both were extremely responsive, caring and knowledgable. As a first-time-mom, I had a lot of questions which they took the time to answer but also make sure that they were only supporting me in making the decisions myself, not making them for me. I can't say enough great things about everyone at Redwood Doulas. They played an important role in supporting me during the birth and postpartum of my first child. I felt supported and really taken care of from the moment I reached out to them. I initially reached out to another Bay Area doula agency but they were unable to find me doula support even though I live in the South Bay. I then reached out to Redwood Doulas and Kymberlie was immediately responsive. We had a great conversation, and she quickly paired me up with doulas for first my son's birth and postpartum. Kymberlie provided so much information and was so helpful to me as I navigated my pregnancy journey. I also took a lactation class with her and boy that was so helpful. I love Redwood Doulas! From the beginning until the very end, Redwood Doulas have been nothing but caring, sweet, supportive and amazing during my whole pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Kymberlie, was very attentive, thoughtful and communicative during the on-boarding process. During our interview she asked very thorough questions and was very personable. Even after we were matched with our amazing two doulas she continued to communicate with my husband and I. Tess was 1 out of our 2 doulas. She was so attentive to me whenever I would text in our group messages. She always offered helpful advice, responded to me in a timely manner and always shared great resources with me. I ended up having a c-section and Tess knew that it wasn't what I wanted my birth story to be but she ended up calling me before I went in for my surgery to share words of wisdom because Maria (other doula was on her way to me). Tess shared words of encouragement before I went in and it made me feel so much better and validated my feelings. Her voice and her calmness was so powerful in that moment even though she wasn't there in person. Maria, my 2nd doula, was literally my lifesaver. Throughout my pregnancy she also would respond to me in a timely manner, share advice and resources for me. I ended up having GD during pregnancy and Maria was able to provide me with tips to help my blood sugar levels. During my pregnancy journey I ended up having to go the hospital at 31 weeks, and Maria drove there to be with me and my husband. She helped guide my husband when the OBGYN would do cervical checks on me and she would tell me everything what they were going to do to me to prepare me which I am grateful for as she was also there to help advocate for me and give me choices and remind me of what I can ask for. I ended up giving birth early at 32 weeks and Maria was there. She was there before I went in for my c-section as she calmed me down and helped move all of our items to our new room. She also stayed with me after my c-section while my husband went to the NICU with our baby. Maria stayed with me while I was in and out of consciousness for hours. I think she came at 10pm and didn't leave until 4am when I was awake and asking for my husband. I cannot stress enough how much Maria meant to me throughout my pregnancy! Postpartum, both Tess and Maria came to our home to meet our babygirl and held her. They were able show us infant massage and answer any questions we had about newborn care. They also were my confidants in my postpartum emotions. Our family loved them so much! My husband and I would have not gotten through all that we've been through without them! As a soon-to-be first-time mom, I was so anxious about the delivery process. Thanks to Doula Thais' support and care, my labor and delivery experience was *so* smooth and positive! She met with me before the delivery to help me better understand the labor and delivery process, prepare the nursery and answer any questions that my husband and I had. Thais was always incredibly responsive either via text or phone. While I was laboring through the contractions, she helped calm me down by offering words of encouragement and light massages and helping me into more comfortable positions. She slept/waited in her car at the hospital while I slept and waited for the meds to kick in. During the actual delivery, she was excellent at coaching me through the pushes (I listened to Thais rather than my midwife) and working with the hospital staff. I absolutely made the best decision for me and my growing family by going with Redwood doulas. This was my first pregnancy so I wanted to have lots of support and Redwood doulas offered exactly that. First Kymberlie is great, on our initial call, she discussed my pre-birth, birth and postpartum goals, fears and concerns. She made me feel so comfortable and validated with my concerns and thoughts. She then matched me with my doula team, Ana and Brianna. These women were so amazingly kind, sweet and knowledgable. Through the prep process, I was able to get to know both of them and together we built my ideal birth plan. Brianna was so kind and sweet and sent me motivational messages whenever I was having concerns. She provided me with holistic advice that helped tremendously! I loved having them both as a team so I knew I was going to be taken care of during my birth by someone and I knew and trusted to advocate for me while going through a huge life event. Since it was my first time being pregnant, when I was getting closer to my due date, I would text them day and night updates and they responded quickly and reassured me and gave me great advice and tips! While my birth did not go exactly to plan, Ana attended my birth and advocated for me and I cannot thank her enough. Even though I had my partner there, having Ana was a great relief. She was able to relay my questions, wants and even demands to the nursing/hospital staff so my husband could tend to me and I could focus on my labor progress. I even chose Ana to be in the room with me when I was limited to choose only 1 support person during my birth. I also might add that my birth was on Anas own birthday and she was up and checking in every few hours the night before my birth and rushed over when we gave her the call that things were picking up in the early morning hours! She stayed through the whole birth and provided support and comfort measures that I didn't even know I wanted!! Im so happy that Ana and my baby are birthday twins! She took care of our baby boy as if he were her own. She's empathetic, warm, and personable. She always asked me (as the new mom) how I was doing and if there was anything she could do to help or even just talk through together. My husband and I would get so excited each day we knew Victoria would be coming to our house. And she was always on time and a true professional. This is a belated review!!! Kymberlie the owner, Laurel my birth doula and Maria and WONDERFUL and I will go back to them in a blink if I ever going to have a second baby. Maria saved us from the thick of postpartum. She was calm, confident, supportive, and our newborn Henry immediately calms down with her. Both me and my husband learned so much from her about how to best care for Henry. After the immediate weeks, we still left last couple sessions and we used them at around Henry's 4 months age. I initially wasn't sure how it is going to be helpful since i fell like we gradually become more comfortable taking care of henry ourselves; but Maria's presence gently helped me to find time for myself, and give guidance and support on how to find a good nanny going forward. I felt immensely grateful for those conversations i had with maria, to receive insider tips from a source that i trusted. It also feels integrating to see henry be with maria not only from when he is a tiny but also have maria see him grow and we talk about how fast he grows, and how big and heavy he becomes. As first time parents, my wife and I were looking for some support to guide us through the journey and ended up choosing Redwood Doulas after receiving a referral from a friend. We spoke to their team through a few zoom meetings and decided to go their birthing services as well as their postpartum services. The team is very professional and caring and were always available to answer questions we had about out newborn. We choose to get full night nanny care for the first 6 weeks and decided on doulas Juliana and Maria. They are bout outstanding and great doulas and were more than happy to answer any questions we had about our baby as well as breastfeeding inquiries. We could tell they really liked caring for children and were very gentle with our little one. Our baby was a little colicky and the doulas recommended some items such as gripe belt, and drops to help with it. After around the 5th to 6th week baby was no longer colic and was sleeping through the night. Initially we had to make a last minute change in finding a doula since our baby was born around the new year and it is hard to find support during the holidays. We had an amazing experience with Redwood Doulas and our amazing birth Doula Maria. This was my first pregnancy and I have always been nervous and scared about the labor and delivery process. My husband was there with me for emotional support but I really wanted someone there who had a lot of knowledge and experience with the birth process to help guide me through it and honestly hold my hand too. I cannot recommend this Kymberlie and Zelle enough!! They were the most amazing doulas I've ever met, and I've interviewed plenty during my last two pregnancies. For my latest pregnancy, I hired Kymberlie as my birth and postpartum doula and Zelle as my labor / 2nd birth doula. Both of them were SO very helpful during my prenatal pregnancy, providing me and my husband all the information we needed to feel prepared for childbirth. I honestly did not feel nervous about the birth because I knew I'd have both of them by my side when it was time. Overall, the birth went VERY well. My water broke at home, and since there was some meconium in it, I had to go to the hospital right away (instead of laboring at home). At the hospital, Kymberlie was there when labor was getting more intense and she was by my side, helping me every step of the way through the laboring, childbirth, and afterwards. When my husband, my baby and I went home a couple days later, Kymberlie was our Night Doula and took care of me and the baby very well for 5 nights. I was finally able to get some sleep! In addition to all the help they've provided, Kymberlie also encapsulated my placenta which I am now taking as a supplement. She processed it in a very professional, clean and healthy manner and I'm so thankful to have it :) Needless to say, I HIGHLY recommend Kymberlie and her team... I feel like my birth and postpartum period were very enjoyable because of them! read more

Maria and Tessa were amazing. It's been 6 months since I've given birth and every time i think back to that day i get all teary eyed because it was exactly what i wanted. (The birth plan did not fully happen how we intended it to but the experience, support, environment.. it was all what i wanted it to be. ) all thanks to Tessa - she stayed with me the entire time and helped me through contractions, got in the shower with me, held my hand, talked me through procedures so that i wasnt surprised by anything going on. Tess and Maria made a huge positive impact on my pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum experience! I reached out to Redwood Doulas part way through my second pregnancy. I didn't have a doula for my first birth and ultimately wasn't happy with my first labor and delivery. The owner, Kymberlie, really cares about the moms and matching us with the best doula team for our situation. I was attempting a VBAC and Kymberlie matched me with Maria and Tess. They ended up being the perfect team for us! We met several times prior to my due date which made me super comfortable inviting them into my labor space. Maria and Tess are super experienced and knowledgeable, along with being very caring and gentle. During labor, Maria was very hands on and helped me relax and get comfortable. Having a doula team made it possible to have a doula with me during the very long labor (around 40 hours). Tess tagged in and was a very calming presence. She helped me make decisions during labor, held my hand during the scary parts, and said all the right things during the pushing phase. Both doulas really listened to what I wanted and needed. They both advocated for me and helped involve my husband in the process. I don't think my VBAC would have been possible without Tess and Maria and I know I they improved my labor and delivery experience.
