Such a wonderful concept and executed well. Plant + coffee shop combo is obviously a good idea but its not easy to carry out. This place did it well with great drinks (cappuccino and matcha are all great), their espresso is nutty and roasty, so tasty. Matcha is flavorful and not bland ( it is not a matcha specialty place so dont expect super premium matcha and deep dark green. Taste is great though) Staffs are so friendly and kind - a breath of fresh air. The space is calming and beautiful. I'd love to come back. read more

I've been trying to visit Vault & Vine for a few weeks since learning that it's a coffee shop , had a green house and a merchant of local vendors! Unfortunately my visit was not as long as I would've liked so I couldn't go sit down upstairs or on the main level. I purchased a Chai Latte and an almond croissant, all of which was very good! The chai was good, not too sweet and earthy tasting which I could appreciate because sometimes they are too sweet or too milky. The almond croissant looked beautiful and was great! What I learned from a friend who visited and on the website is that a lot of the items sold from Vault & Vine are from local small businesses, including the pastries! I think this is a great concept, as it looks like a gift shop with many plants and clever items. I spent the most time walking about and looking at the different items such as the various body butters, room sprays, journals, jewelry and greeting cards. My meal in total was close to $10, which was good, I've spent close to $10 for a chai tea alone!!! I will definitely return and hopefully sit down and bask in all the beauty of the plants. I'd also like to return to try their coffee. I love this coffee shop! It's right around the corner from the public library so my son and I LOVE coming here on weekends before switching out books for the week. I think Ive gushed about this place on Instagram; I can't believe I haven't sung its praises on yelp yet. Shame on me! You can really tell that management has been thoughtful about the vibe the wanted to create and truly wanted to make it family friendly (not just child centric). the bathroom is fully stocked with whatever diaper supplies you need for a newborn to toddler, adorable play area upstairs and staff that ask without prompting if you want that small steamed milk you ordered to be "kid temperature". (My 2 year old asks me for "steamed milk" and "smoothie" all the time and I know he's referring to his favourites from this place. Sitting among all those plants makes you feel like you've found a little piece of paradise, the ideal environment to relax and chat with a friend while sipping on their "golden pothos". While it looks like there is only limited seating near the cashier, there's actually way more upstairs and outside. Even on a busy Saturday morning, I've always managed to find a seat easily and never feel cramped. I can't forget the little local art, ornaments and knick knacks that are available here...I've gotten so many gifts for myself and others, from children's books, to candle sticks, to fancy garden shears to hilarious cards. It's a rotating electric mix. They have a reasonable rewards program and between the coffee and home decor items, it has returned dividends. I promised myself I wont buy anymore plants (because of said 2 year old) but when I restart, I will definitely get from here. Their selection is absolutely gorgeous...I have my eye on a few cacti. Environment -At first glance, this can easily be mistaken for a floral store due to the myriad of plants at the entrance. Speaking of the entrance, they have a community fridge located just outside the front doors which I find to be quite noble. Cafe - While I've purchased flowers from Vault+Vine(a bit pricey) the real gem is found in the cafe selections. My standard pick is the Chai Latte which is smooth and sweet. They have a beautifully laid out "greenhouse-style" seating area which is quite calming. THE SAUCE - This spot tops the list of my favorite coffee shops in Philly. While there may be big box chain stores offering more variety in their coffee/latte offerings, the charm of the independently owned Vault+Vine is unmatched. It's well worth the trip for the sips. I kinda like that because you get exactly what you want. We both got donuts to try and those were really good too. I can't wait to go when it's nice out. There is seating inside and outside. Not a ton but there is an upstairs too. That was booked for a private party today so we didn't get to see it. The cafe gets you in and then you can't leave without purchasing some stuff. This shop has great coffee and a cute plant store. I had been a regular customer here for many months, but unfortunately I had a horrible encounter with the owner over the weekend and will no longer support this business. My book club has used the upstairs space several times last year without issue. This time, we had an unexpectedly large number of people (around 20), and we set up in a corner that still left the majority of tables open for other parties to use. Although we were a large group, we were not particularly loud, as only one person was ever speaking at a time (per book club style), and I have been in the space before when other parties were much louder. Nonetheless, the owner approached us quickly after we arrived, demanding to know who was in charge of our group. She told us in a very belligerent and angry way that we were taking up the entire floor and that they charge a rental fee for the space. She made it clear that we were unwelcome. Our group had just spent several hundred dollars in the coffee shop, and I was extremely disappointed that the owner was so discourteous in the way she spoke to us. I can respect that it would have been helpful for a group of our size to have called ahead and I would absolutely have understood if the owner had approached us and explained her position in a calm and respectful manner, as I too have worked in the service industry and understand the challenges of running a small business. Instead, I came away appalled by the owner's rudeness and disappointed in a coffee shop that I have frequented for months. read more

Tons of beautiful plants to enjoy with the cafe to the right side and on your left is a small greenhouse like area with tons of succulents and plants for sale. The plants are slightly more if the expensive side but still reasonable priced as well as cared for so the price is acceptable for how beautiful the plants are. The coffee is good and affordable. Unfortunately the morning I came, the cafe was closed ...bummer but the fresh assortment of flowers made up for it all. Their inventory ranged from indoor to outdoor plants and freshly made bouquets. Vault + Vine had it all. I was able to pick out a bouquet and card and walk away as a happy customer. What I like most about V+V was that they had flowers that were in season and what I would consider as rare. Unlike grocery stores, that are filled with the usuals flowers (roses, daisies, carnations etc.). I was able to find things that I wouldn't normally fine which was nice and refreshing. My honey rose cold brew was delicious and smooth and did what caffeine is supposed to do. The concept is different, but plays to both of my loves - coffee and plants (although I have a brown thumb). I stopped into Vault + Vine on a Thursday in search of a fiddle leaf tree for my living room. The space itself if very small, but packed with tons of fun goodies. Candles, pots, earrings, vases and of course greenery. I liked that they had local artisan pieces and small batch candles. They had a good amount of succulents and smaller fiddle leaf trees. I was in search for a bigger one and I do wish they had more floral options available. But I know that it is not their specialty. The cafe was pleasant and the coffee was decent. I do think the coffee was pretty over priced. I ordered a: latte with soy----$5.00. But the sitting area was cute and not too busy, but again, it was a Thursday. Next, I wish I knew the names of the ladies working that day because they were SO nice and helpful when we were ordering. I came across this place on Yelp and was dying to check it out! Vault + Vine is super cute and aesthetically pleasing. I spent the first twenty or so minutes of my visit browsing around the store and eyeing all of the plants and knick knacks. I ordered a quiche and iced coffee at the coffee shop. Neither of them were anything special, but the place was so cute I didn't mind. I spent about an hour and half in the seating area reading and getting some work done. I love working in different coffee shops around the city and was expecting to be productive at Vault + Vine, but since the seating area is on the smaller side, I kept getting distracted by other conversations around me. All in all, it's a cute place for a quick visit and to catch up with a friend, but I don't think it's a good place to sit down and study and be productive. read more
