Not to be confused with Flamewars Footwear which is peddled on the internet by trolls and wind up…read moremerchants. I've been going through a lot of shoes lately so while I've been in the malls around Western New York I've checked out a bunch of shoe stores in the past few months. Famous Footwear has better prices than most, but a much less extensive selection than the shoe stores that I like to shop at. I mean it's great to find cheap stuff but what's the point having cheap stuff if you can't find anything that you really want to wear. Nice service though, and definitely a credit to this mall.

While I did end up finding something here, I'm giving three stars because their selection was not…read moreall that impressive. I checked out all the shoe stores in the mall today looking for new sneakers/shoes and apparently, if you are female then you must desire shoes that are hot pink or other neon colors with paint splatters or other god awful designs. Right?? No. My disgust with the options available almost lead me to purchase a pair of men's shoes at Zumies, but those were too big and personally, for what they were I felt they were seriously overpriced. 90 bucks for a glorified tennis shoe. No thanks Nike. I ended up finding a pair of Tevas at Famous Footwear that I really liked. While they seemed overpriced, they ended up being on sale (by 20 bucks!) and the assistant manager gave me 5% off for a bit of fraying on the stitching (nothing that will affect the quality of the shoes). No complaints over the customer service at all! If they just had a better selection and more sizes in stock, I would give a higher rating!

I've been back to Field's a few times since I wrote my original review so I thought it was time to…read morerevisit my thoughts. First, this is still a 5 star RC shop in my book. Probably a six star but Yelp ran out of stars or something so 5s all you get. If anything I've become more fond of field's with each visit. The staff is incredibly helpful. They're willing to answer any question, help you select the right parts and upgrades, and most importantly leave you to make the final decisions based on your budget and likes. Solid information, low pressure sales pitch. As it should be. I especially like the fact that as an out of town customer they don't treat me like one. Even having gone so far as to invite me to the local flying club as a guest for the day. You can find a great selection of RC products here from a variety of manufacturers and distributors. So whether you're into Cars, Trucks, boats, planes or Helis you can find what you're looking for here without the usual problem of being locked into a single distributor that many hobby shops are limited to. They're just up the road from Niagara Hobby and around the corner from the Galleria Mall. Drop in and say HI, you'll be welcome.

I'm new to the hobby and was genuinely excited to visit the store for the first time. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill the moment I walked in. One employee immediately gave me a harsh look and stared at me from across the room. I didn't even realize he worked there at first, so I tried to move out of his line of sight. Another employee eventually approached me, and I explained that it was my first visit and I wanted to look around before asking questions. He was friendly and helpful -- I honestly wish he had been the one assisting me the whole time. Instead, the first employee eventually came over and asked if I needed anything, but his tone and body language made me feel unwelcome, as if he wanted me to leave rather than browse. It took the excitement out of what should have been a fun first visit. Bottom line: the store itself was great, but the attitude from that particular employee made the experience uncomfortable and disappointing.
