One of the last thriving stores near the once prosperous Boulevard Mall is this DICK'S Sporting Goods. I have been in here a few times and always left satisfied. Most recently, I stopped in to return a sweater/sweatshirt I was gifted for Christmas that happened to be about 25 sizes too large. I opted for store credit mostly due to the fact I would be traveling and my suitcases were at capacity. I saw a lot of things I would have enjoyed a lot more than a sweatshirt that was 25 sizes too large for me but oh well. I am grateful the return process was a breeze and to have the store credit to buy something I find value in. All that to say, the service was great; no questions asked about my return and I was in and out quickly. My takeaway from browsing has always been great selection, great prices. read more

Came in on Sunday looking to purchase 2 bikes. Your staff while there, were not interested in any customer interaction or assistance. When informed we were looking for bikes to purchase and have fitted for 2 sons ,their response was to point and say they were over there. No worries. We went elsewhere and purchased 2 bikes and 2 helmets. The other store was happy to take our $500.00. Lesson learned regarding Dicks. read more

what a waste of my time, went in to buy athletic shoes. left aggravated and went to a store that actually gives customer service. was looking for new sneakers, couldn't really tell what each type did since there was no descriptions anywhere. the sales rep stood and watched video's on his phone, offered no help, couldn't be bothered. I remember when dicks offered great customer service. you were approached, asked if you needed help, explained what the difference in footwear was. not no more they should just avoid filing for bankruptcy and close the doors, better service shopping on line. I provided one star, however this particular location deserves less than that. On two different occasions. I checked for an items availability prior to going to the store. I called to check to make sure it was there and even checked the website that confirmed the item was there. So I get to the store to get the item and so I dont see it. So my husband asked for assistance, and the sales associate was so rude and stated someone would be sent back to assist us. Two minutes later, she was helping someone else. When she was done with that person, she said oh someone else will help you. So we waited for another person. He looked for them item and then stated that they didn't have it. I reminded him that I called to ensure it was there. He then brought the item I asked for but in the wrong size. Then he walked away. 5 minutes later he tried to give me the item that I stated was not what I asked form at this point he said oh we don't have it. He said the website must not be updated and he can't find the product. Needless to say I'm less than satisfied and would look elsewhere for my sporting goods. read more

I asked about a pair of ice skates for my granddaughter for Christmas and when the 2 "associates" finished their chat, they pointed and said "they're over there". She wears a 9 1/2 shoe but skates only come in whole sizes, so I bought a 10. The box highlights that skates had to be sharpened before use, so I had them sharpened at the time of purchase. Unfortunately, they are way too big for her, so I tried to exchange them for a smaller size (with receipt) but was told they couldn't be returned once they were sharpened. I asked to talk to a manager, who said the sales person was supposed to tell me they wouldn't be returnable before he sharpened them. There were actually 3 "sales associates" involved in the request and execution of the sharpening, NONE of whom mentioned they would not be returnable. The manager is "sorry", but not sorry enough to make it right, even though his employees did not do their job! I am steaming. Out $60 and my granddaughter still doesn't have skates. I have shopped there before and always amazed at how many salespeople there are and how none of them seem to be interested in the customers-always just standing around talking to each other. I'm sure there are a few good ones, I just haven't seen any of them. I tried talking to corporate about the problem, but they said individual stores have different policies and they could only offer me a $10 refund. If I had bought them on line they would be able to exchange them. What difference does it make which way they are purchased? Great policy if you want all your stores to close. Will not be shopping there again, in person OR on line. read more

This should be zero stars except I guess that I did walk out of the store with a pair of sneakers in which to walk the dog. This store is the epitome of what's wrong in America: 1. Big box stores causing smaller, local stores to close and for what? Shitty service, a lack of inventory or knowledge about how sneakers fit? No one will help you here; when I could get some service and asked for my size in about 10 different sneakers, I was brought only 3 which were somewhat close to my size - I don't know why they brought my sizes I didn't ask for. In the end, I left, mostly kicking myself for even having gone there knowing I should have gone to Fleet Feet where they know what they are doing, are always happy to help you and are educated on the variety of different shoes and their fit, comfort, design, etc. 2. Young kids being employed who don't give a shit about customer service or doing their job, but rather being paid to sit on their phones scrolling. I'll be shredding my Dick's card and shopping local now even if it is more expensive, but at least I'll know I'm leaving with a quality sneaker fit for me and my type of exercise regimen.....oh yeah and not pissed off. read more

Tanner in sneaker department is EXCEPTIONAL. Our daughter is fussy and Tanner was cordial, kind and energetic through the nearly hour long experience. Additionally, he worked with many other families while assisting us. Jessica was very pleasant and helpful while ringing us out. This Dicks is very similar to the other Sporting Goods stores in the area. The merchandise sold are from the best brands and of the highest quality. The story is clean and there is always someone to help you. I have never gone into this store looking for something and not find it. The only downside of this store is that the merchandise is very expensive. For instance, I went in to the store looking for a NFL Fantasy Football Draft Kit and it costed $40. I could have found it cheaper in other places. I can understand the high prices because of the brands they carry. If you are on a budget this store is most likely not for you. read more

I went in a few months ago to return a north face jacket that I got ad a gift because it sheds horribly. The girl returned it wrong and gave me the wrong change, Husband paid in cash and it showed what he paid and she gave me about 15$ less which was an ordeal to get back what I paid. One day I had finished my container of whey protein, so instead of going over to GNC like normal I decide to call Dicks to find out how much it was at the store. The machine message came up, and said to hit 0 for the dicks sporting goods operator. I hit 0, the operator comes on and says how can I direct your call, I say i'm looking for pricing on whey protein he says okay just a moment. I'm put on hold. For about 10 minutes the dicks sporting goods pre recorded machine is playing and then the phone starts to ring. And a man answers and says "Jays house of dildos how can I help you?" Thinking that I must have heard incorrectl, that a worker would never say that, I asked him to repeat himself. He says it again. Jays House of dildos how can I help you. At this point, I just wanted my question answered so I ask how much the whey protein was at Dicks sporting goods. And he goes, we don't sell that here and hangs up. Last time I shop there. Wrote to corporate about the matter and all they said was sorry. And that was about it. Dicks is a mediocre store, they aren't the best at what they do and I'll gladly go elsewhere to shop where the workers don't act like their 14 making prank calls at a sleepover. read more

While shopping for a new treadmill I went to Dick's in Orchard Park. I was there for 20 minutes in which time the floor associates were busy talking in the bike/gym area and ignoring me. 2 younger men came in and went over to the exercise/weight wall and were looking at purchasing items below $100. Associate immediately went over to ask them if they needed help and began his spiel. Unfortunately because he ignored me Dick's in Orchard Park lost a $1,000 - $2,000 cash purchase and a customer. This is no the first time this has happened to me in this store. Perhaps they should train their associates on customer service and realize the 40-50 age group (women included) do have disposable income and are willing to purchase large ticket items. read more
