    They have working arcade games!

For some reason it took me forever to check this place out, despite the fact that I frequent Sweet Jenny's just downstairs. I don't know, something about the fact that it's a comic book shop probably didn't make it interesting enough for me to just go upstairs (I'm a fan of comic book work, but I don't really read them). But this space is super cool, and I really wish I had checked it out sooner. I was incredibly impressed. The shop itself is pretty small (and it gets really hot up there) but it seems like they have a cool variety of comic books for sale. I also noticed some super cheap vintage Star Trek figurines (they were like $10 each), and there was a case in the other room that advertised "Everything for $5." The place is littered with memorabilia as well - anything from Star Trek to Star Wars, Garbage Pale Kids and Back to the Future. It's pretty much 80's nerd heaven. I forgot to ask if the stuff on the walls was for sale, because a lot of the stuff they had were definitely things I could see people buying. They also have four working arcade game systems (for customers only!). Don't forget to bring your quarters! The owner brings comic book artists in here for signings on a frequent basis, which I think is super awesome. They recently had Adam Gorham here - he does the artwork for Rocket Raccoon in the comics. We spoke with the owner, who also owns Sweet Jenny's downstairs, and a law firm! It makes sense to me now why Sweet Jenny's makes some nerdy chocolates once in a while. I think this would be the perfect place to bring your kids, and share all the things you used to love as a child with them! As for myself, I'm going to go back next time I'm in the neighborhood and totally geek out about all the Star Trek stuff inside...

I came in on Sunday morning, and it wasn't very impressive. Lots of comics, but the store was lile a ghost town because of the pandemic. Inwas allowed upstairs, but a worker from the ice cream shop followed me around while I was browsing. I didn't feel welcomed. I'll come back again in the future when you are more free to browse and the arcade section is opened.

Best comic book store EVER!!! I've been a comic book collector since I was 13 and have been to…read moreseveral comic shops and this is by the far best I've ever been too. I came across this store from boyfriend who is in the military and currently stationed in Buffalo. As an anniversary gift he was on the hunt for issue #300 of the amazing Spider-Man. I've been trying for years to get a hold of this comic but could never find it at a reasonable price nor in good condition. My boyfriend found Empire Comics and talked with the store owners. They went above and beyond to help him! Not only did they managed to get a hold of the comic but were able to get one that was highly graded! I was in disbelief when I saw it and had to see this place for myself! I'm from CA and during my visit to see my boyfriend during the holidays, I went in to the store. I was welcomed by the store owners who were incredibly friendly and down to earth. They are fluent in all marvel and some anime. The store has a ton of good finds but if your looking for something specific they will go above and beyond to help you find it. As a comic collector and marvel nerd this means the world to me. I strongly value a business that goes above and beyond for their customers. After choosing a handful of comics, the store owners were kind enough to throw in a free comic and because I told them of my love for Spider-Man, they also threw in a free poster. But the best part was, free Christmas cookies were thrown in too! I had such a blast the entire time I was there. I really appreciate that they were so welcoming unlike other comic book stores who are often after your money or feel superior in their knowledge and like to belittle their customers. I will for sure be a regular for them all the way from California. Thank you Empire Comics for your fantastic service and awesome experience!
