Top-notch Nepali/Indian cuisine, in an unsuspecting locale...
It's one of those places that you'll likely just walk by - a door leading down to a flight of steps, and nothing to tell you that there is anything down there other than an easily overlookable billboard. What's worse, it's near one of the crazier intersections in the city, just before the bridge.
Overlooking this would be a mistake, because the food is *stellar*. The flavors are spot on, the consistencies just right, and everything Just Works. The straight up "Indian" stuff is really good (dal makhani, biryani, saag paneer, tandoori ..., whatnot), but so is the Nepali and "Indian Chinese".
So yeah, if you're in the 'hood, you should go!
Note: The ventilation in here is, well, non-existent. So, be prepared for that (the point being, the tandoori ... is going to sputter oil in the air, and you and your clothes are going to walk out smelling a bit of whatever you and the others had for dinner...) read more
