    grilled seabass
    Taylor C.

This restaurant serves "modernized" Middle Eastern food. Since we were not super hungry, we just ordered a combination mezze plate and a grilled seabass, plus some baklava. We were really happy with what we got. The three types of mezzes all taste great but different. The grilled fish was very flavorful. The baklava was the best I've had in a long time.

What an absolutely beautiful place, whether you sit on the charming patio, inside, or the back tables that face a beautiful square this place is a gem. The food was outstanding and the service was friendly and welcoming. Forgot to take more photos!

Came here while walking in the Old Jewish Quarter. Had the lamb kebab with vegetables and hummus. Recommend this restaurant if In Krakow, Poland.

Excellent restaurant in really nice location in the heart of the Jewish district in Krakow, The interior and exterior are really nice and well-furnished. Chairs are comfortable, tables are clean and disinfected after every guest. Waiter was really kind and cheerful. He told me a few things about dishes and advised me (on point). Food was very tasty, flavourful and well presented. I can literally recommend everything because I tried many things and everything was good and in the end I was satisfied and filled up. Huge thanks to the waiter that did his best to provide me with a memorable experience . Prices are typical for good restaurant with nice can be a little higher for the city but absolutely worth. The place is well decorated and very instgramable . Excellent pics can be added to #makehummusnotwar lol

    Beet carpaccio salad, yum!

We've been here twice this week (once for lunch, once dinner) and enjoyed both times very much. Had both beet salads for lunch, perfect quantity and very tasty. The beet carpaccio was both our favorite. For dinner I had the sweet potato and sheep's cheese salad... really unusual and delicious. The cheese is from their private farm. Hubby had the Stirfry option (veggie dish with bulgur wheat) which was good but a bit dry. Service was on point both times, atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant (we sat outside under awning both times)... felt like a friend's cozy backyard at a casual summer party. Prices felt reasonable. Happy!

3.5 stars! You've gotta love the laid-back, colorful atmosphere inside Hamsa--it's a world away from the almost dreary architecture of Kazimierz, Krakow's former Jewish quarter, but what a fitting place for a restaurant that combines the best of Israeli, North African, and Middle Eastern cuisine! The first thing I jumped right to on the menu was the mezze set menu, which is served on a plate in the shape of a hand with five sections. Two are filled with pickles (radishes, cucumbers, chilies), the middle circle with olives, and the other three with your choice of dips! I tried the muhammara (red pepper walnut dip), the hummus with spicy harissa, and the labneh balls covered in za'atar. While not bad, the muhammara was a bit on the bland side, and the hummus was quite watery and didn't have the creamy texture I like from a good Israeli hummus. But the pita that came with the plate was simply divine--hot, fresh, grilled on the outside, fluffy on the inside! We also had the Israeli lamb kebab, which came with three skewers of minced lamb, served over bulgur, pita, and a salad, along with tahini and another creamy sauce on the side--the skewers were grilled to perfection and spiced so nicely! Finally, we had the sweet potato and sheep's cheese salad, which had a base of arugula and came with a sweet treacle (molasses) dressing--this was delicious as well, and the grilled halloumi added such a nice earthiness to the salad. Every dish here was definitely tasty, though the two dips I had fell a bit short. Nevertheless, this makes for a great place for a casual meal at fair prices! Of the dishes we had, my favorite as the lamb kebab, but whatever you do, don't miss the pita!

4.5 stars. Excellent experience on every aspect. FOOD: 4.0. - 3 mezzo combo for 2 people: 5.0. Included pickles, and plenty of middle eastern bread. We chose lemon puree, falafel, and babaganoush. - Shish kabab: 4.0. Chicken kababs served with fresh salad - excellent arugula with cucumbers. - Dessert - baklava: 5.0. We had one small piece each. Flaky crust with plenty of yummy filling. - BEDOUIN COFFEE with fresh-ground cardomon: 5.0. Had never heard of it but loved it. We are normally dark roast black coffee drinkers and loved the Bedouin Coffee. - WINE: 3.0. Israeli red wine. Was ok, but next time I'll probably have beer. SERVICE: 4.5. Fast, friendly, and genuine. AMBIANCE: 4.5. High arched ceilings, cloth light covers for the hanging lamps, color photos of people in movement on the walls, plenty of greenery. And a live band later in the evening.

Great Israeli food in the heart of the Krakow Jewish Quarter! After a long day of sightseeing, you can say I felt enlightened to eat something "Jewish," so Hamsa came to the rescue. I had the fish soup which was fantastic and a rather large portion. It was slightly spicy too and they didn't skimp on the protein! I also had the bulgur stir fry which was fine, nothing special but it was good too. My only criticism is that the prices are slightly high for what you get, but remember, Polish currency isn't the same as USD. Still, compared to other places this is a bit more than what I've been spending elsewhere. Overall, great place, good food, cute atmosphere!

Fantastic Mediterranean food in Krakow. We started with a mezze plate (pictured) which was delicious. The falafel was light and well seasoned. Hummus was smooth. Then we shared a chicken kebab and shakshuka. Both good. I could have eaten the entire kebab by myself. Sooo tasty! For dessert a delicious pudding - oh the name escapes me - unlike anything I'd tasted before. Service was quick and friendly. Menus and service available in English.

Mezze plate - falafel, baba ganoush, hummus with pomegranate seeds, pickles, olives

Hamsa was a nice break for us during a vacation filled with pierogies. They have a beautiful, modern, well lit space inside of a beautiful older building on the main Kazimierz square. I like that they offer a build your own mezze option - you pick from a good sized list of delicious hot and cold choices. We went with pomegranate seed hummus (very unique), baba ganoush (nice and smoky) and falafel (meh - a little mealy and obviously reheated). Portions were very generous and pesented beautifully on colorful dishes. For a main, we split one of their specials - spicy lamb meatballs served in a tagine. The sauce was well seasoned and the meatballs were wonderful - not rubbery at all and full of flavor. Everything we had was fresh and delicious. My one knock is that prices here seem to be on the higher end as compared to other places we tried in the area, but the quality is high.

    Dried out, not edible Pastrami.
    Nyceats W.

Expected better from an Israeli restaurant in the Jewish Ghetto area. Overpriced and not worth the trek. Waitress was rude, like she is doing me a favor to eat at Hamsa. The Pastrami sandwich for 49 zlotych (about $13 usd) was all dried out and inedible. Hummus was good but not for the price. I don't recommend to eat here.

The music drew me in. . . along with outside seating. Enjoyed the food. Service was friendly, and I did not feel rushed through the meal. Great experience!

    Hamsa set (small one)

This place represensts a very nice combination of traditional and new Israeli food and ambience. They have an interior area and a charming garden with modern isreali music played in the background. The restaurant is espacially popular for its hamsa hand sets that you can order in an opition: small, medium and large (3, 6 or 9 different ingradients from the menu). Each set consists additionaly of olives, pickles, paprica and pita bread. The sets give a possibility to try a lot of different things at once - falafel, hummus, baba ganoush and much more. If you go there only in 2 persons I advise to choose a small set as medium one is way to large already ! ;) Apart from hamsa sets I laso enjoyed their burekas, really tasty!

The menu is mostly Jewish/Middle Eastern food and a lot of tea and coffee options. I chose a large black coffee for 12 PLN and it was excellent. And cheaper than the mainstream cafes like Starbucks and costa. There was free fast wifi and outlets to use. There toilet was clean. Service was nice. I spent a good amount of time in the cafe just hanging out, doing some reading, and enjoying the atmosphere. Would recommend!

While sipping my milk & honey drink I read the book from the library located in there and also later on took part in special event. All was prepared so well and food - humous and wine and olives were delicious. It was such lovely evening and it was so calm and service was so friendly. I like the idea of having wine testing evening too and also before I was listening to Jewish traditional music and took a stroll around district- all put me in different mood and lift me up a bit - because I am in miserable condition due to other problems- visit in Cheder brought a bit light to me...:)
