"Best cut I've ever had--and I've been going to barbershops for years. Walked in, had a chair in 5 minutes, got a thorough and professional cut, and the price was great. Highly recommend!" read more

This place is great. Always get quick walk in cuts. Each of these guys can cut EXCEPT the one homeless looking dude - worst haircut of my life. read more

I always had trouble finding a good barber/barber shop that made me feel comfortable in going there. A lot of the barber shops I've been to were not very lgbt friendly, but these guys really don't care about it. It's a very chill place. I see Andres for my haircuts and I always leave the place with my confidence through the roof, he's a great barber. I totally recommend the place! read more

They do a really good job trimming my beards. You don't have to wait all day. The quality of their services that they offer are good

This place is an awesome barber shop. They saved me after a terrible haircut experience at another shop. Fixed my hair and left me looking great. The customer service was top notch. Andy is a highly skilled barber and professional as can be. I will be going here for all my cuts from now on. I definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for a high quality haircut. read more

Twice gone there and great style cut without knowing what I want. Funny and can pay via Venmo or cash app or cash or need too. Definitely go. Back read more

Jonny is the guy you want cutting your hair he does a lot of people I know and by far the best barber I been getting my hair cut by him for about 4 years every 2 weeks and there has not been a single time I been disappointed. Ask for jhonny he does a really good job! read more

I went in and no one said hi. Sat down and saw someone getting a haircut and was charged $25. I sat down for the first time and after the cut was done I was charged $30. I live around the corner and get a cut every week. Losing and cheating clients over $5 is crazy. I gave him $35 and left. Either way beware. Para los que trabajan aquí : eso no se hace. read more

They fuck up line ups they skip and don't keep up with the order of people who come in yordy sucks watch out for that man he can't cut hair for any thing. a lot of other barbers in the area try them before you come here read more

I don't know how to speak Spanish and I never know what the barbers are saying, but the haircuts are fantastic! I love that they don't start conversations too, because I hate going to barbers that talk to me during the haircut. Never go anywhere else anymore because they always give me great haircuts no matter who is cutting. read more

Jhonny is the best at what he does! A great fresh haircut every time!! He's got quite a following. He's been cutting my hair for about 9 years and I've always been satisfied! read more

Really happy with the haircuts I get from here (I've gotten a cut from most of the barbers there). Inexpensive, they do a really good job, and also use a straight razor to line you up. They can understand my English well enough! Only bad thing (for me) is that they're cash only. read more

When you go asks for jhonny. I was super apprehensive on going, but he really takes his time to make sure he gets your cut the way you want. My tip is to come with a picture of the style that you want to get. Finding a barber as a broke Harvard student was difficult, but this was a gem. read more

Worst cut ever. The guy was not speaking English, he cut in an unbalanced way (more hair on one side than another), and completely inflamed my neck by shaving with a razor. Don't go there unless you are latino read more

FYI they have moved to Cambridge Street! (at least- as of June 2017) (not sure of the address but around 1000 Cambridge Street). I live in Brazil and come home to Cambridge about twice a year. I first found them while on a morning run and ever since then I always make sure to come to Vasquez Barber Shop for a great fade. They are professional, clean and very attentive. I usually go during the weekday and never have to wait too long. A fade was $15. Even if you do not live close by, you should make the effort to have this place be your spot for haircuts. I'm not sure if all of the barbers speak English but plenty of them do to help even if you get someone who speaks Spanish. I can't think of any concerns only positives. Some barbershops can be hit or miss but every barber I've had here always does a great job, takes their time and puts effort into having clean lines. One of the best things a barbershop can have is knowing that no matter who you get, the cut will be good. This is that place! read more

Man's messEd up my boyfriends hair cut. Rushed the cut and didnt care That he rushed it. Messed up The lineup and cut his hair all the way down. Did it before my boyfriend could even say anything. Absolute trash service. He's got important things to do tomorrow and now looks messed up cause someone didn't do their job correctly. Next time he goes in, I'm going in too. And I promise they'll understand never to do that again. Shitty service. read more

Brought my son here for haircut. These barbers are meticulous, and do beautiful work--I have a whole new appreciation for the fade haircut now! My son has this annoying spot in back but they made it look good. Definitely coming back!! I also watched one barber giving some dude a shave also and he paid such attention to detail--looked good. read more

Vasquez cuts are always fresh. Haven't felt the need to look elsewhere since I first went there. They did up their prices a bit since moving to the new location, but it's still pretty reasonable. read more

Best.haircut.ever! Haircut is very professional and stylish, not just buzzer and some scissors on your head like many other places. Ambiance is also quite vivid and the folks who work there are extremely amicable! One of the places I look forward to visit every other month... read more

Best cut in town. Louise is by far the most skilled barber I've ever had. He takes his time and delivers the best quality cut. Everybody will notice your hair if he cuts it. Make an appt, hes busy and thank me later. read more

They don't speak very good English but they know how to make your hair look fresh. Make sure to ask for what you want or they'll get creative on you! The shaves are great too. read more

One of the worst cuts I have ever had. The barber went way too far up the sides and cut off the longer parts of my hair that your supposed to use scissors to trim. He also went way too far up on the back and cut all my hair the same length as it should be on the sides on the top of my head. My hair on the top back of my head (Near the swirl) used to be atleast 3 1/2 inches now it's not even an inch. Every part of my hair is extremely uneven, in front, the right side is an inch shorter than my left and not to mention some strands were wayyy longer than the other. I also showed him a picture of what I specifically wanted and he messed it up this badly. read more

The guys are the best ive seen. They dont rush through your cut and try to get you out fast. They take their time and give a flawless cut EVERY TIME! DA BEST! read more

I never go back to the same place to get my hair cut because it's either too expensive or they just weren't very good. But I will be coming back to Vasquez! It's full of chill guys who know what they were doing. I showed my barber two pictures - one with a shorter version and another with a longer version of what I wanted - and he did a solid blend of the two. He told me his plan at the beginning and he was more than willing to adjust the final outcome as I was inspecting the final cut. Plus, there were all sorts of men - a 13-year-old getting his fro lined up, a 70-something balding man getting a trim, and 20-something me with curly hair. They had all sorts of happy customers walking out their door. I'm telling you it's at least worth a try! read more

When I moved to the city from Southeastern Mass, I was all torn up about losing my barber. It had taken me SO long to find a good barber originally, that I thought I would not find another one was as good. Well after a half dozen or bad/alright haircuts in Cambridge and Boston, I finally strolled into this barbershop roughly six months ago. Carlos ended up giving me the best fade I have ever gotten. With the beard line up it was only $18, which is so much cheaper then any other haircuts I had ever gotten in the city. Definitely SO SO happy that I found this place! read more

Great haircut at a good price. I walked in Sunday morning, got seen relatively quickly, and got the haircut I wanted. The fade was well done and the barber took his time to make the haircut perfect. read more

Excellent haircut at a very reasonable price. Excellent at creating a smooth fade and clean lines for a modern look.

I showed him.a picture of myself with a haircut I liked and he nailed it plus some. I'm a white guy with straight hair and it didn't phase him in the slightest even though they clearly have a customer base with hair different than than mine. They take their time and have pride in their work. A+ read more

I'm Disappointed at the barber over the weekend. His name is Andy (the one closest to the bathroom ). He happens to be the most unprofessional barber in the entire shop. If he manages to pay attention, you might get a decent haircut. He doesn't consider you as a valued client. He just sees you as another head to cut. He constantly leaves you in the chair to go off and do other things. He doesn't consider your time. He's always starting conversations with the other barbers and doesn't pay attention to your haircut !!! you will spend more time getting your haircut with him because of all the time he wastes doing other things. He never considers that when he's shouting across the room to other barbers that he's screaming right next your ears. He makes unnecessary mistakes to your cut when he's busy talking or singing or dancing.. (yes i said dancing...even when doing your hairline with the blade). He doesn't even look at your head when his cutting your head with the clippers (thats right he's too busy shouting across the room). His barber station is never clean. his drawer is filled with old hair that he never cleans out and he's unorganized. He doesn't spray down the guards after every cut. He doesn't seem to care. He doesn't have a standard way of cutting your hair he will start your sideburns then jump to the back of your head then jump to another area without finishing the areas he started. In all the experience was terrible. He needs training on how to be a professional and focus on his clients. read more

Vasquez Barber Shop - Andy doesn't clean his guards often enough or his clippers properly - Barbers Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

I have never written a review in my life (sorry Yelp), it's usually not worth my time. I do think it's worth my time to rate Vasquez Barber Shop though, and I'd give them a 0 if it were possible. There are some good reviews on here, so maybe some of the barbers are better, but I'm never taking the risk again. I got such a bad haircut that I ended up going somewhere else the next day to get it fixed. I got such a bad haircut that my second barber asked me if my friends had pulled a prank on me. I'm talking 2/8" buzz on my crown with a 4/8" buzz on the sides bad, and no effort to even blend it in between. I didn't notice at the time because my barber didn't hold a mirror behind my head. At home I realized I had basically been thrown into a lawnmower head first. For my own sake I wish I were exaggerating, but I'm not. Language wasn't an issue either, soy argentino y hablo castellano. Hope this review is helpful for someone, or at least gets my barber to try a little harder in the future. I won't be returning. read more

One of the best barber shops around. I've had my hair cut by each barber and they all do an excellent job. Reasonably priced and cash only. Highly recommend! read more

Great cut, better than a few of the trendy places in the area. Extremely meticulous with the clippers, fast with the scissors, and precise with the straight razor. Affordable price to top it off. I'll be coming back. read more
