Totally worth the wait! I've been waiting for this whole pandemic to ease down a bit and once I heard barbers were taking appointments again, I jumped! I did have to look for a new barber, so this was my first time going to Felix. Let me say it was worth it. The place could use some upkeep (Center Salon), but for a guy just getting a cut, I don't mind. Felix is an incredible barber! He had an attention to detail that I enjoyed. As he clipped my hair around the chair, I could tell he noticed something he didn't like. He suggested I tighten the fade on my left side and I went with his suggestion. It was great! It made the haircut look much cleaner and neater, and it helps me breathe even better up top. I will also be happy to give someone like Felix my business. read more

There are currently four barbers that work here. Three of the four give a great haircut. The place is a dump, and all the barbers smoke cigerettes nonstop so whoever is cutting your hair is going to stink, but I can easily put up with that for a great haircut for 15 bucks, 20 with tip. HOWEVER, the fourth barber is an Asian guy who is just the worst. He gives a horrible haircut, he takes well over an hour for a simple fade, he is constantly taking breaks to talk to customers/friends/barbers, it is just horrible. I ask him not to line up the front of my hair, he forgets and does anyways. "Oops, sorry bro". Last time I went he gave me a horrible haircut so today I had planned on going and asking to be seen by one of the others but when I got there it was only this guy there so I gave him one more chance (other two were out back smoking). What a mistake that was. If you go, steer clear of the Asian (not racist at all btw, just don't know names so referring to him this way). Time to start looking for a new place to go. read more

This place, is amazing! I have a very simple buzz cut that I get trimmed and lined up, along with my facial hair I get a chin strap lined up. I have been to many many many Barbers in search of the perfect haircut and line up. Most places I go to cant even do a well balanced buzz cut, wont line up with a straight edge blade, are very rough, or even cut me. But enough with how horrible countless other places are, on to the review! Let me begin with the design and ambiance of the place. Its all very clean, very modern, very nice. They have a TV, big black comfortable leather chairs, and actually a nice outside view of Brighton as your on the second floor. I think we can all agree that how your barber shop looks is a big part of it. But the most important part was my cut. The simple buzz cut was done right, all balanced out, all trimmed well. But the difficult part most barbers struggle with is lining me up and giving me a nice chin strap. The barber was very gentle WITH the straight edge razor that many barbers out there dont use anymore. Applied the gel to lubricate and not cut me, used such precision and he asked me how everything was coming out and if it was good. Then to finish it all off applied some talc and made it all fresh. It was perfect, the perfect cut I have been looking for, done with such care and time and knowledge. He made sure everything was how I liked it and it was. The prices are also amazing! $10 for your first cut, and $12 if your a college student, and your regular $16 other wise. This place is very great, location is wonderful, ambiance is great, the barbers r really easy to talk to, and the cut is amazing. I'll def be coming back. read more

These guys are legit. I moved to metro Bos five months ago, living a few months in Brighton. Brighton Barber Co was recommended, specifically Bao. Bao is the man. He knows what the hell he's doing and has a lot of xp. My gf insists I go to him for cuts and she's my #1 critic. Boa's given me my best cuts ever and the price is good. If you go, make sure you tip. Even though I now live in Somerville I still go to see him (20-30 min drive). I got my hair cut once by a green chump in Somerville and it sucked. It was more expensive too. They also wanted you to make online reservations like a Solon. I can't waste time with that. Sharp hair impacts work so I can't mess around with invalid cuts. I'm 100% tri-state New Englander (ME NH VT); I know a bit about quality hard work. Don't waste your time on blow-hard hipster douches, especially when it comes to barbers. Love this barber shop!!!!! The gentleman have done a great job with the renovations thus far. The shop has a new barber so the line of guys waiting has diminished. The new chairs are F%&€ing amazing so comfortable and clean. They recently got a hot lather machine that makes the shaving cream hot for the shaves. The shop is laid back and still gives professionally styled hair cuts and shaves. They have update their services and the new prices are clear for ever one to see. (Don't want to see any bitching about the price it worth money for superb quality) I also need to mention that red, white, blue, bench they have have outside is very cool. This is not your dad's barber shop. Located in Brighton Center, 2nd floor of a historic building (you need to be buzzed in) is this a gem. Two large, modern, clean rooms with maroon and grey decor. Jason Statham was on DVD. Black leather chairs-this place is a man's dream. $10 new customer cuts, $15 regularly for men, $13 for kids. My husband's barber took his time with the cut, then the "old school" straight edge razor on the back and sideburns. Old school barber shop with a modern edge. They also provide a hot shave for $10. Went in for a simple buzzcut, left with an asymmetrical cut and razor rash on my face after an inordinately long cut surrounded by sleeping or drinking slackjawed bros. Did not expect to feel a straight-edge razor taken to my temples (without cream), did not expect to see a new and asymmetrical hairline around my temples and ears, did not expect to leave looking and feeling worse than I came in for what should have ben a simple and easy style. read more

Some of the guys here are fine- if you are with one of the more experienced barbers you'll probably be fine but I got my neck jacked up by some rookie with a blade. I don't know what he did or if he forgot to use cream but when he finished up the back he cut up my neck something awful. This wasn't your typical razor burn I was swollen and red for 2 weeks. read more

Started coming here probably 2 years ago now and haven't gone anywhere else since. All 3 barbers are good at their job and keep conversation going. Can honestly say i have a good time when i come here between the jokes to just watching a movie or playing video games. All three guys are great at cutting hair so you won't be disappointed there. The location of Brighton Barber Co is great. It's in Brighton Center, in two bright and well-lit rooms overlooking Washington Street. And the guys working there the day I went for a cut seemed well-intentioned, as if this was their shot at running a business, and they're going to set it up as they see fit. With that said, the upkeep of the shop is slovenly. All four chairs had rings of hair about them, and it seemed as if the floor hadn't been swept for hours. Meanwhile, two barbers sat in empty chairs playing with their phones. I appreciate when a barber keeps his chair neat and his counter organized. And this shop is not neat. It's unsanitary and uncomfortable. My barber spent the better part of the haircut jabbing awkwardly along the side of my head with a pair of clippers, changing attachments every few seconds. When he pulled out the scissors, he stabbed at the hair, poking me in the eye with his thumb twice. I like barbers who use straight razors on the back of the neck, and this guy did try. But instead of long smooth, strokes, he took stuttered stabs with the straight razor, which was a little unnerving. The aftermath showed some more less-than-positive signs. I got home to find three uneven areas in my hair after taking a shower. I had to fix it myself - a first for a haircut since an ill-fated attempt to let my cousin cut my hair when I was a teenager. I also have razor burn and bumps along the places the barber used a straight razor. That's never happened to me with any other barber. On a last note, the barber smelled a bit of a bong, which wasn't the most pleasant odor when he was in proximity working on my head. I likely won't return here, and I'd advise against others going until the guys running the shop exhibit a bit more professionalism. From the other reviews, they seem to have a small, dedicated following, and I would hope they could grow that. They seem like good guys who need to be a bit more mature about running their business. read more

This place gets 2 stars for the entire lack of professionalism. The guy who cut my hair was super nice, but went crazy with the straight razor. The part that made me really uncomfortable was that he had an entire conversation with the straight razor resting on the back of my neck, and then watched a news clip. Besides that he straight razored the part in my hair without really asking me, and it's not what I wanted. The guys seem nice, and it could have just been the guy who cut mine, but I'd recommend another place. read more

Within Brighton, Mass is one of the best and most consistent barber shops I have been to. There are currently 4 barbers that cut your hair to your liking. As you walk in, music comes to your ears and the barbers greet you with smiles on their faces. If busy, there is a TV to keep you occupied or you can chat with any of the barbers as it is a social and friendly environment. Every time I go to the Brighton Barber, I have enjoyed my time there and I leave with a fresh haircut every time. I thought that I'd try this place after I moved and it's within walking distance. The haircut was so-so. The service was the worst I've ever seen. When I walked in, there were 2 barbers and and 1 customer. The barber who was free decided to take a break. Another customer came in. When barber 2 came back in, he decided to take the other guy first with the excuse that he was there before and went to the bank to get money. Turns out they're friends. While the 2 barbers were giving hair cuts, they continuously stopped and they and the 2 customers in the chairs chatted. During the hair cut, barber 2 stopped 4 times to either text or chat on the phone. Another guy came in and they were arguing about whether or not he can take a Pepsi or if he had to pay $1 for it and they were fooling around with the soda and the dollar bill. When it was finally my turn, the barber chatted with another friend who had come in the whole time. An hour later, I walked out with a so-so hair cut while they continued their conversation. I think I'll go back to my old barber even though he's a 20 minute drive away. I was very satisfied there for 24 years. read more

To say the least, this was the worst "Barber Shop" I have ever patronized. The barbers are not just unprofessional but also allow their friends to skip over those who have been waiting. Now this does not mean that this place is busy BECAUSE IT IS NOT! At any rate, I walked in to have this guy waiting for a cut look at me as if he wanted to kill me lol. Meaning the clientele closely mimics the Barbers. That said, The Barbers were extremely unfriendly and only seem to have "clients" that are their friends. How this place remains open & profitable is a mystery to me but i have my ideas regarding that but I'll just keep that to myself. Also, this place is NOT CHILD FRIENDLY whatsoever! DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!! While there you will get to see the "Barbers" drinking, smoking, speaking very nasty/offensively about women and seemingly high. Oh not to mention the offensive music and videos on the TV. Continually, this place is a dump! The floors are nasty with disgusting dirty walls and the entire atmosphere is extremely unwelcoming. How any one can give this place positive reviews is beyond me. More than likely the "Barbers" are posting reviews along with their friends. Long story short, I've visited this place twice and my experience was the same if not worse. I will never return. However, if you do not mind giving your hard earned $$$ in support of 3 ignorant degenerate ingrate barbers, then that's on you.
