It's incredible what great food was coming out of that little kitchen by the two chefs. The young man who was our waiter was really nice and friendly too. You order your food at the front counter with him. Everything was delicious. The caesar salad had large pieces of anchovies too! Unfortunately didn't order that this time but will on our next trip. Ordered their potato and green beans and the roasted beets salad. Both were good too but portions were small compared to the caesar salad. The chicken salad was really good on light buttery croissants. The black cod stew was also very good. We ordered the sticky toffee pudding for desserts. Though delicious, it took awhile, so take that into consideration when ordering. No tipping. Gratuity is already rolled into the prices of the meals. I wish more restaurants will do this.

Ramble is truly a gem on Vashon Island and a place I'd happily return to again and again…read more We started with the fried potatoes, which were excellent--hot, crispy, and perfectly golden on the outside while remaining soft and fluffy inside. The roasted cauliflower was another standout, with the pistachios adding great texture and flavor. The roasted carrots were also delicious and paired beautifully with the goat cheese. One of our favorite dishes of the evening was the chicken liver pâté. It was rich, smooth, and incredibly flavorful. My only suggestion would be a few more pickled onions to provide just a touch more acidity and balance. The morel risotto was probably our least favorite dish. The texture was wonderfully creamy, but it felt a bit under-seasoned and could have used a little more depth of flavor. The roasted half chicken was outstanding. The skin was perfectly crisp while the meat remained juicy and tender. It paired wonderfully with the chimichurri sauce and cranberry beans. If I were to change one thing, I might swap out the roasted romaine for something like sautéed kale or another hearty green that would complement the dish a bit better. For dessert, we had the dark chocolate and pistachio terrine. It was rich and satisfying, though I think an extra sprinkle of flaky salt would have elevated the flavors even further. Overall, Ramble delivers thoughtful, well-executed food in a welcoming setting. While a couple of dishes could use minor tweaks, the meal was excellent from start to finish. This spot is a true island treasure, and I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again.

While they don't have a huge pastry display, they have an excellent breakfast menu, and they even serve dinner. We ordered a latte, a chocolate croissant, and a ham and egg bagel. Latte: This was excellent--balanced and rich. I personally dislike coffee that is too bitter or sour, so this flavor profile was perfect for me. Ham & Egg Bagel: This was a surprise hit! It exceeded my expectations with a generous, thick layer of scrambled eggs and delicious Italian ham. Chocolate Croissant: This was pretty standard/okay. The shop also features a great selection of wines and Italian pantry staples, as well as artwork from local artists available for purchase on the walls.
