Both times I was satisfied with the service. The only recommendation I would give to the business would be for the receptionist to answer the phone as honey and hive. I had Tabby, Kambree, and now Megan Jessy. And each time was a wonderful experience. I was too scared for a long time to chop my hair off or get away from dying my hair black because it was just low maintenance. Being a mom and living an hour and a half away from this salon, I don't always get the chance to get my hair done often. But I decided I needed some change and have been talking to Megan Jessy about chopping my hair off and starting the blonde journey from black hair. Today was my first session and my hair came out exactly how I expected if not better! As you should know, going from dark hair to blonde is a PROCESS. It doesn't happen after one or even two sessions. This was Megan's first time doing a balayage on me and she was seriously so amazing and personable! I highly recommend her. And her cutting skills? I am the pickiest person when it comes to cut. I come from Nashville, TN where I spent good money on haircuts. And let me tell you, Megan is one of the BEST. I had to upload updated photos because Yelp lacked them. Truly, Honey + Hive is a hidden gem. I've been to 3 different salons in town and this one is where you need to go.

Don't give this dungeon place your money, the OWNERS & Erika have poor business practices & no…read moreintegrity & no compassion and no care in the world about customers. I am a platinum bright blonde for 7 years now, and went in to get my roots touched up & toner while I was in town bc I live in LA & my home burned down in the fires so I was staying with family. I asked the male receptionist for a platinum blonde specialist consultation & even asked Erika when she came out to greet me if she was a platinum blonde specialist. She said yes, she's been doing hair for 20 years....WHERE WALMART?! She was confident she could do my hair. I came back the next day for the appt & I said get rid of my brown roots & for the toner I want it bright & light but on the warmer side bc I absolutely don't want grey hair (any blonde stylist knows you have to have a little WARMTH to keep brightness w/o it turning grey and ashy.) She said she understood many times. When I came into this salon my hair was BEAUTIFUL light & bright and she made it BROWN/RED/GOLD. Erika needs more corrective glasses bc clearly she can't see properly &needs to be a scam artist NOT a "platinum blonde specialist" at walmart. Erika barely lifted my roots and they're yellow & banding & brassy spots all over. Sloppy bleach application. She said she was going to fix it with a toner, when I came back from the bowl I had a toner on that was brown/red/pink NOT a bright color I told her to rinse it out it's too dark and at this point my hair is a highlighter yellow mixed with green & brown from this toner. I said you need to take this toner off it's way too dark & she REFUSED to take it off saying to give it longer. She didn't even ask me anywhere along the way how I was liking my hair. She had put 2 different toners on my head, totally different colors, at this point &have left the toners on longer than the bleach and my head was freezing cold at that point from being soaking wet for 2 hours. She wasn't even going to get the pink out of my hair unless I said something to her and she says "OH is it pink?!" Erika needs to get her eyes checked PERIOD. I was sitting there CRYING in her chair as shes TRYING to blow dry my hair and I told her to just rough dry my hair bc it's quicker bc I'm tired of being cold and I'm so upset at this point and wanna get tf outta there. She never even asked me how I liked the color or anything just SILENCE from her like she knew she purposely messed up my hair. What kind of stylist makes a platinum blonde DARKER than what she came in with?! She made my hair BROWN and GOLD tones on a platinum root touch up like WHAT?! I also got a haircut from her while it was still wet she cut one layer then I told her hey uh my hair is pink....and she immediately turned around to do toners and didn't even speak to me and completely disregarded the haircut after that so I only have one layer of my hair cut and didn't finish it. Erika has no care in the world about me or my hair. I called the owners about the situation and told them I absolutely did not want to go back to her to fix it. The 3 owners collectively agreed that I HAD to go back to Erika if I wanted it fixed and didn't offer any other solution than that. Poor business practices they literally didn't even offer to fix my hair (and should have at their expense) and that she's been doing hair for 30 years at Walmart...Erika told me 20. So the owners don't even know their stylists and who they're hiring. I was recommended this place bc my mom goes to this salon and my sister has been recommend it too but NOT ANYMORE. The owners have now lost 3 customers bc of this. The whole vibe of this place is off it's very dungeon dark vibes and they play awful music it's not even uplifting. Also, Erika asked me if I wanted water when I first sat down in her chair or something to drink and I said oh coffee would be nice and she seriously told me to go get it myself like didn't even offer to go get it or show me where it was across the salon. She had no shame in herself for her service or how she ruined my hair!

Finding a new hair stylist can be scary. I've had my fair share of bad hair experiences. With that…read moresaid, I am over-the-moon thrilled that I found Ashley W. at Studio 417 Salon. Firstly, the salon itself is so clean, aesthetically pleasing, and welcoming. I felt at-ease as soon as I walked through the doors. I was impressed by the amount of sanitation and precautions the salon took, in light of COVID-19. The salon currently requires all visitors to come alone and to wear a mask. Each of the stylists also had masks. It was pretty cool to see the care the staff put into keeping the salon pristine. It appeared that they completely sanitized each station after use. Back to the hair itself -- I think pictures will do more justice than my words. I gave Ashley an idea of what I wanted, and she completely nailed it! She was super quick with the balayage technique, which turned out so natural and beautiful looking. She was also easy to talk to. I felt like we'd been longtime friends by the time my appointment was over. Another thing I appreciated was that I was periodically asked if I wanted something to drink while I was getting my hair done. Excellent hospitality! This salon and stylist Ashley absolutely deserve 5-stars. I feel pampered and excited about my new hair! Now I don't have to be afraid to find a new stylist because I'm all set with Ashley W.

had heard amazing things about this salon and about stylist Holly -- plus another stylist my mom…read morehad seen in the past and absolutely loved. So naturally, I went in with high standards... especially since this place markets itself as a "luxury" salon. I walked in and was greeted by a beautiful, architectural space with a great flow. Stunning. Promising. And then there was Brittany at the front desk -- an absolute gem. Honestly, she is the only reason this review even gets two stars. She personally earns five. Holly, however, earns a solid negative score, and I'm being generous. Holly walked up, gave me a once-over, and let out a very obvious, very audible sigh of disappointment -- the kind of sigh that clearly said, "Oh great... just a haircut... long hair... she's probably not buying products." I was confused. I mean... I walked in with a designer purse, luxury jeans, jewelry, the whole ensemble. If she was judging, she judged completely wrong. I wouldn't have pegged myself as "a waste of her time," but apparently, Holly has a sixth sense for bad attitude. She never offered me wine, coffee, or even water -- which, for a luxury salon, is basically the bare minimum. When I mentioned I just wanted a haircut instead of the deep conditioning treatment and didn't want the full color glaze, she cut me off immediately. Full attitude. Full irritation. Like my hair choices were personally affecting her rent payment, and she'd be evicted. I told her I didn't want color anymore --just a pearl iridescent clear glaze -- and explained that I'd already done a hair mask. She then brought her assistant over, and the two of them started chatting with eachother like they were in high school, making it very clear they had zero interest in talking to me. Which is wild, because let's be honest, ladies: half the reason we go to a salon is to gossip and vent a little. Then, as they were walking toward the back room, the assistant politely asked if she should stay with me or get me anything. Holly literally replied, "Not for this type of customer. Don't waste your time." Excuse me? What type of customer? The type who usually drops $700 once a year, comes in every 6 weeks for trims and treatments, and gets an Ouidad haircut every 60-75 days? The type who just didn't put on makeup today because it gets destroyed during hair washes anyway? Make it make sense. I was blown away by the disrespect. I ended up buying a bunch of products -- but I made absolutely sure the receptionist got the credit, because Holly deserved nothing from me except maybe spiritual reflection and a customer service workshop. Honestly, I would've gotten better service from an inmate in jail detoxing and bargaining for a honey bun in exchange for trimming my split ends.

Nice looking salon in a nice area. It was my first time there and I brought pictures of the hair…read morestyle I wanted. It was close (I have to assume) but my hair didn't get styled but rather a half effort with a straight iron (while my roots were still moist) because that's what she wanted to do rather than blow it out like the picture and like I said I preferred. Because of this I absolutely could not compare my hair in any way to the picture I brought in to say whether or not that's what I got. I didn't get to see the back of my hair at the salon so that was different. I was a little disappointed I had to go all the way back home to re-wash my hair and blow out/style it because I think that should be included in the hair cut. Something I would change, the hair wash station... I had the seat I was sitting on and my back never hit a back rest when I leaned back so all my weight was resting on the hair bowl with my neck and I had to use all my muscles just to try and help hold me. Its the very first wash station as you walk in that area. Also no towel to cushion my neck like other salons do. It was physically painful. In a pinch I would go here again. Everyone seemed very friendly and got along well. The lobby area is nice. No secretary or greeter at the desk though.
