I was looking to give my mom a fresh start with a top to bottom spring cleanup & clean out. She had been the primary caregiver for my dad with Alzheimer's for the last year and a half. Consequently she lost total control of the house & keeping it clean. The home had become completely out of sorts from top to bottom. I was looking for somebody to help get my mom's home back in order from top to bottom. Marcus and His coworker were absolutely fantastic. They were not only hardworking, efficient, very experienced but also were extremely sensitive & caring to my moms situation. I can't say enough wonderful things about my experience with the company. At the last minute we needed an extra dump load taken off the property and they were able to get that put together at the last minute as well. I would highly recommend them to anybody looking for A reliable and extremely professional and competent company. Thank you Servicemaster for making a very hard situation have a beautiful ending. Being able to get my mom back on track with her house was A wonderful new beginning & gift for her. She's going to have a lot of adjustments after losing her husband of 55 years but having her house back & cleaned was a beautiful step in the right direction.

Rusty of ProKleen promised to finish the job in one month of remediating my kitchen from a slow…read moreleak which got under the wood floor. He failed to keep this agreement by not even being finished by 2 months. He tried convincing me that his men could"accidentally " break my 20 yr old countertop so that they could install another one to my liking. To which I replied...... "O hell no!" He, also, tried getting me to agree to removing all of the wooden flooring throughout my home instead of just a few square feet in my kitchen. "Ah, no to that, too!." So I paid him for the work done, thus far, and then fired the company. I hired an honest contractor who finished the job. And for a lot less money. The last infraction that I just found out today is that Rusty is requesting money from my insurance company for work that he did not do. And this is why the insurance company hasn't paid me after I submitted the invoice for the work, legitimately, done and paid for by me. What nerve!!! NEVER ALLOW PROKLEEN TO CROSS YOUR MIND MUCH LESS YOUR THRESHOLD when you have a water damage problem.

It's never pleasant having to write a review like this, but my conscience tells me to warn people…read more Here is the warning. In May of 2021, the septic system backup and flooded the bathroom and a nearby bedroom of a house that we were renting out. The repair area is about 300 square feet between two rooms. We hired Prokleen. They said insurance would cover the entire project and it would be likely be done within a month. It's been almost five months now and the project is still not finished. The details: initial clean up of hazardous material took about a month due to asbestos in the drywall. After the clean up, they started the rebuild. Steve, my contact, told me he would walk me through the process of choosing flooring to make sure that I did not exceed insurance coverage. I found flooring that I liked. The flooring company manager warned that it would take several weeks to arrive due to the pandemic. He urged me to have Prokleen place the order immediately. By phone and text, I informed Steve of the selected flooring and the warning. Steve said he would calculate costs and call me back. If we agreed, he would place the order immediately. I heard nothing from Steve over the next week, but the flooring company called to warn me that Prokleen had not contacted them. They were worried for our tenants. I called Steve to inquire. Steve, said they had not yet placed the order because they needed to calculate the cost of the flooring to ensure it's within my price range. Unless Prokleen uses an abacus to run calculations, the explanation fails. It's only 300 square feet! Steve promised to take care of it. I was in ill-health at the time and neck deep in work and due to exhaustion, failed to follow up with Prokleen, trusting that they would take care of it. Big mistake. Nothing from Prokleen for a month, so I called. Apparently, they had sent me an estimate by email a month prior. Why would they email without calling or texting as they had always done in the past? So much for Steve's promise to walk me through the entire process. The flooring price was $1,000 over budget. Selecting different flooring would delay the process even longer--my poor tenants! I emailed and called Steve to complain. I agreed to the flooring because there was no time to lose in the install. My tenants were living in the living room. I told Steve I wanted to talk with him about the pricing before I paid, because it seems unfair to me. Steve promised to send someone out to talk with me. No one ever came. The build-out began. About a month later, Prokleen accounts receivables called to collect $1850. The extra $850 was due to late payment. I said the fee was not fair because no one had come out to speak with me as Steve had promised. The clerk canceled the extra fees and said he would have someone call me to explain things. Never happened. A week later, I left another message asking for an explanation. Never got a call. I called again. No reply. Prokleen then hired a subcontractor. They got halfway through the build-out, then suddenly stopped without explanation. I emailed Prokleen. They said they had underestimated tand would have to order more flooring. They had under-calculated the material needed. How can you miscalculate 300 square feet? I was told that the extra material needed to complete the job would cost me an extra $850, exactly equivalent to late payment fee. I got a bill for $1,852.96 -- still no one has called to have that billing conversation. Several weeks later, I get a text saying that the material had not arrived because the flooring company had marked the order for pick-up. ProKleen refused to pick it up. I'm dumbfounded at this point. I texted them a week later--flooring had not arrived. They assured me that it would arrive in a day or two and that they would be out first thing the next week to complete the installation. The next week came and is nearly gone. It's Thursday now. No one has come. No text. No call. No email. Now here are the final three points I want to make. First, how on earth could they promise me that I was not going to be charged extra, if they can't even do the material math for 300 square foot installation? The fact that they got that estimate wrong tells me that any mistake that they make on their end, they expect ME to pay for. Second, why did they hire a subcontractor to complete the work? That surely raised their costs. Seems I'm having to pay that extra cost maybe...under the guise of miscalculation. Finally, the tenants moved out three months ago because they were tired of living in the living room and having no sink in the bathroom. We can't use the space until the build-out is complete. We are now nearly five months into the process now... So Yelpers, do you think I should pay anything extra? Would you? If you want a never ending headache and wallet-leak, I couldn't recommend a better company for the job! P.S. I'll update this review if anything of note changes. Otherwise...

It required the demo and dry-out of a 12' x 11' bathroom, over a period of a week due to the damp weather and amount of water that had soaked the sub-floor and studs. JTM came out to do the remediation and I am still so impressed with this company! They sat down with me to explain in detail what had to happen, how long it would likely take, explained best and worst case outcomes, reviewed costs with me and helped me understand the insurance processing. They even handled the insurance claim for me. Throughout the process, Jordan and Tamara, the owners, were timely and considerate, always understanding of my weird work schedule at the hospital (thank you soooo much for that!), tidy and neat with the materials that they had to remove from the property, and respectful and kind. Their employees were also considerate and thoughtful, and as difficult as it was to have a houseful of strangers in and out of my house for a week, I couldn't have asked for kinder, more respectful people to come in and do such a thorough job. They tolerated my tears, my frustration with all the noise of the drying machines, and patiently answered every question I had even though I know they were so busy after all the fires we had in Sept. I will DEFINITELY be calling on them when I start with voluntary (smile) remodeling, because they are perfectionists, they are fair, and they aren't happy unless their customer is happy. I will recommend them to any and everyone!

SERVPRO of Medford/Ashland - The condition our home was left in for 7 months

If you want to be taught a lifetime of hard lessons in home reconstruction, hire this company…read more Back in May 2025, after a major sewer flood, my homeowners insurance referred me to this company for mitigation work. After discussing the repairs, I verbally agreed to a contract around June 2025. Mitigation started immediately, and we were told repairs would follow right after demolition. Because 75% of our home was affected, my family of six (four people, two dogs) relocated to a motel for almost a month, trusting that the work would move quickly. After no repairs happened, and after spending over $6000 on housing, we moved back home. From July through the end of August, our home was left with framed walls, concrete floors, one toilet, one sink, and unsafe electrical hazards (live exposed wiring, arcing outlets and broken outlets). Myself and two of my children were repeatedly shocked by outlets, one of which randomly sparked when it wanted to. Despite repeated notifications to the company, nothing was done. We lived like this while being told to "be patient" because other projects took priority. Towards the beginning of September, I was told they were finally ready to move forward. On September 12th, I met with them, handed over 90% of my insurance payout as an advance payment, and officially signed a contract. After that, communication became nonexistent. I ended up calling my insurance company to see what was going on with the project because the company would not answer my calls. In mid-October, the company showed up unannounced, moved my belongings into storage pods, and took items to be cleaned - some that never needed cleaning--like metal barstools outside the flood area. I was sick that day, yet the company insisted on proceeding, leaving me unable to verify what was taken. I still cannot locate over $3,000 worth of snowboarding supplies and other items. By the end of October, after several months, my home remained partially demoed, with 1 toilet, 1 sink, and no furniture, while my belongings were in storage. No beds, couches, chairs, tables, etc. The site supervisor finally met with me and: * Refused to take responsibility for the electrical hazards, calling them "existing conditions." *claimed that the foundation work (simple patches) needed for flooring install could only be done by a licensed foundation contractor approved by their company, adding a 20% overhead. * Said the extra work verbally agreed upon months prior was no longer possible. *Told me to continue being patient, as three other projects still took priority over mine. They then offered to mutually rescind the contract and "return my money" , but only if I signed a liability waiver and confidentiality clause, which would waive them from responsibility for any damages and prevent me from ever speaking about my awful experiences. I refused to sign it for obvious reasons I also explained numerous times that without getting my advance payment back I could not hire an electrician to fix the hazards. Yet, they withheld my entire advance payment until Christmas Eve, which was one day prior to me, being able to file a complaint with CCB. They also didn't produced invoices to justify the amount they ultimately witheld. My family and I, including three teenagers, two dogs, and six cats, were forced to live in unsafe conditions, with ongoing electrical hazards, missing items, and no real progress on our home, while also being pressured into signing liability releases to get our own money back. Tring to do business with this con outfit has been nothing short of a nightmare. If there are any other families who have experienced the same abuses, I would love to talk to you. Do NOT trust this company.

For two weeks after that, I received no follow-up, and when I re-contacted the account manager to ask for a list of what had been submitted, the answer right out of the gate was "we don't do that", in what could be described as a disinterested DMV-employee voice. When I continued to plead my case that I wasn't interested in the dollar amounts yet, just the scope of the work that they had recorded at the walkthrough, you know, in case something had been missed, he shut down and only repeatedly replied with "okay, sir", now in disdainful IRS-employee type voice... the kind that tells you in no uncertain terms that they couldn't care less what you want. I will admit that, after living with holes in my roof for two weeks during the rainy season and getting zero communication, I was frustrated, and I voiced my frustration and displeasure at my request being flatly ignored. I was mad, but I never once swore at him, or called him names, or anything of the sort. Today (Jan. 8th), in a text message, I reminded him that I still had not received an email listing the damage and deficiencies they had recorded, and that I was irritated that he did not seem to be taking my case seriously. To this, he gave me the same flat answer that they were waiting on insurance, and was not going to email me, concluding that he was "uncomfortable with the hostility" and was "backing out" of the project. Servpro of Medford/Ashland abandoned me with holes in my roof for two weeks in the middle of winter because I was upset that they wouldn't tell me what they intended to fix. Servpro doesn't care a bit about helping me, and they don't care about you either.

I can live with that, but lack of communication, lying & unaccountably are another thing. Friday 18, 2018 --- Eli with 1st response set up an appointment for me for Monday 21 @ 9-9:30am. I confirmed via phone call with him Monday morning before 9 am that he was headed my way from Medford to GP. Texted him at 9:30am to ask if he was headed my way, called again at 10:30am, the guy didn't get to my house until after 1pm to give me a 2 minute quote. The only act of admission I received from him upon arrival was, we must have gotten our wires crossed. No you flat out lied to me & showed that you believe my time is worthless between multiple calls & texts that your confirmed. He's supposedly set up the dry wallers for today Wed. 23 & the painters for Thur. 5-24 and was going to get the quote over via email from Serv Pro's. I tried to call & text Tuesday with both ServPros and Eli with 1st response and was promised they would have the quote over by end of business Tuesday and they would get me the #'s to the dry waller and painter. Eli never responded to 2 calls, 1 VM or 1 text, nor did Serv Pros respond to the email by EOB yesterday. I called & texted Eli back this morning to see if the dry wall people were still coming out, no response. Finally got a hold of Serv Pro's this morning, upon which was told that the first response tech's were at Serve Pro's office, but they aren't going to do the job. Waste of half of my week, instead of 1st response made you should call yourself "No Response'... Use at your own risk!
