Overall, the house has been well maintained, but the 600+ square foot front room was considerably out of flat and wall-to-wall carpeted. I called Lippert's, knowing they are in the carpet business, to ask about a referral to someone who could pull up the carpet and see if maybe it was covering an original hardwood floor that could be refinished. It turned out that they deal in all types of flooring, not just carpets, and - long story short - they had a crew out within a few days, removed and disposed of the carpet and pad, and exposed the undulating floor, which was an inch out of flat in areas. After advising us of our options, we agreed to have the floor flattened, a combination of grinding down high spots and building up low areas. As of today we have a beautiful new Canadian maple hardwood floor with no noticeable deviation from being perfectly flat. The entire project, from first contact to completion, has taken about three weeks, and it cost no more than recarpeting. We can highly recommend Lippert's Stephanie and the father/son craftsmen Andre and Isaac. These guys know their business and kept our best interests top-of-mind, their suggestions were spot-on!

However, there were a couple of issues with install. I had told the salesman that we wanted ALL the carpet replaced, including that which was tucked in a closet upstairs. However, apparently when the floors were measured, my husband told the installer he didn't need to measure that piece. So, it was not replaced, and had to be done after the fact. The other issue was there were carpet "leavings" EVERYWHERE, even though the installer said he had vacuumed. I asked that it be re-swept, but even then, there was still a lot of bits and pieces all along the walls, in corners, etc. I'm STILL trying to get them swept up.

Well trying to make a long story short, my floors turned out blotchy (which I told him so) and strange lines here and there. He offered no help. I'm assuming he left the color on longer in certain areas from trying to do too large an area at a time. And he left a pretty big gouge in my kitchen area with a piece of wood (splinter) sticking up so it catches on things. But I think the worst part is the stain he got on pretty much every wall in my house and on my white tile floors. I might have to repaint an entire wall because I'm not sure I have to color to do touch ups. I'll try to attach some pics. Also stain on my dishwasher (that won't come out), stain on a coffee table, stain on a white chair, stain on kitchen cabinets and I keep finding stain. I didn't know stain would stick to so many surfaces. He also left a big bag of garbage in my front yard in front of my house for 3 days. And do not expect any type of communication. He was at my house the first day for close to 11 hours, which would have been fine except I had no idea he would be there until 7:15 at night which might explain the stain everywhere due to rushing and it being close to dark and he was probable tired. If do decide to go with this company be sure to cover every inch of your house. There's also dust every where. I'm not sure why they tell people it's not very dusty. Dust is literally everywhere.
