Yum!! Stopped in on NYE When they were pretty slammed & were seated within minutes (4) Ordered our drinks and an app after our chips & salsa were promptly dropped off. The appetizer sampler was so good. It had beef taquitos, beef nachos, & beef quesadillas (you can opt for ground beef , chicken or no meat. We had tacos plates for dinner & my hubby ordered a molcajete .. amazing service especially for a holiday. Great job food was delivered quickly, efficiently and no errors. read more

We stopped in for date night and this place was poppin! I thought we struck gold. Bonus points for being seated right away. I ordered nachos, my man went for tacos, and we were ready to feast. Fast forward an hour later... still no food, empty water glasses, and my patience was dwindling. Our waitress hit us with the "just a few more minutes" line too many times. Sorry to say we're had a birthday dinner tonight, and the food was just mediocre. The salsa was quite watery with little flavor. We ordered dinner of steak and chicken fajitas for two. When the plate arrived, it looked like a platter of fried onions, there was very little steak or chicken fajitas. You had to dig through the pile of onion to find very small bits of meat. The rice and refried beans lacked real flavor and were very bland. The meal was not worth the money and we will not be going back and will not be recommending this restaurant. Very average Mexican restaurant. Nothing was terrible but everything is faraway from excellent. Serving chips and salsa with the meal is nice but the chips are nothing special and the salsa is quite bland and watery. The choriqueso was the highlight of the meal with the thick cheese works so well with the chorizo. Had the Al Pastor burrito, the meat was fine but wasn't super strong in flavor. The overall dish felt very bland. The menu is so large it seems hard to find what dishes are actually worth ordering as there is such a variance in quality. read more

Whenever I'm craving a michelada, I head to Vaqueros. They have the BEST micheladas. Their food is delicious and reasonably priced. If you like spicy food, you can ask for their spicier salsa with your chips (just FYI as I didn't know this until I went with someone who knew about this)! So good. We were sat at a table and it took someone roughly 15 minutes before we even got water.... A server saw and finally came over and said has someone helped you. He apologized and asked what we wanted to drink and we decided to place our order as we knew it would take longer if we waited again. Food was just okay. We love dining in at Vaqueros, and typically stop in once a month. Recently, we wanted carry out and decided to try Vaqueros to go. It was INCREDIBLE!!!! The portions, quality and flavor felt as though we were eating in. I called and was greeted politely, my order was taken quickly and when I arrived my food was ready. They were very busy, Friday afternoon, yet I didn't feel as though my order was taken any less seriously than a dine in order!!! There are few places that we know are consistent for either dine in OR takeout and Vaqueros is one of them. Keep it up!!! We'll definitely be back soon! read more

Extremely rude staff, very basic food with little to no flavor. Went here with my boyfriend tonight, expecting to have a good date night. First red flag we saw was that nobody had checked on our table for about 20 minutes. Our server Laura came and my boyfriend got a virgin Pina Colada medium, because that was all she had offered us. However, I ordered a virgin margarita and she only offered me medium or large, I had said medium. Then we had placed our food order. I will say food came fast, but was very bland. She shortly came with the check and did not offer us any boxes. I had noticed both of drinks were $9.95 and I had looked at the online menu and the price was $6.99 I was very confused and asked Laura about this, first she got very defensive and told me "well that is not my issue." She did not tell me there was a small size, and continued to tell me only medium and large and continued to talk back to me whenever I would ask a question about the price mix up. Whatever, I leave and call back to make sure i'm not getting scammed. The host I presume picked up and told me there is no manager on duty, and there was a small size and she can't do anything about it and I just have to deal with it. If you are looking for a good place to eat with good service, do not go here. Everyone is so rude and just seems miserable. I cannot say it enough do not go here. read more

We came here with a big group of about 10 people on a weekend and did not have to wait to be seated. They have several TVs around for watching sports. The menu is huge and there is something for everyone. Chips and salsa were complimentary but we had to remind the waitress a few times to bring refills. We got some guacamole for the table which was brought out quickly and tasted great. I got a medium size red sangria to drink, it was still a huge portion and I was glad I didn't get the large! The red wine wasn't too bold and seemed to go well with the fruity flavors. I got the green chile pork taco salad as my meal, a unique twist on my usual ground beef taco salad I get at Mexican restaurants. We were shocked at how fast the meals came out; even with a large group, the food still came out less than 10 minutes after we ordered which was awesome! The green chile sauce was good but could've been a little spicer. The chunks of pork seemed too big, it would have tasted better in the salad if they were smaller pieces or if the pork was shredded. Serving sizes were large and food quality was really good otherwise! Everyone seemed to enjoy their food and many people left with togo boxes. I'm glad that they provide vegetarian and vegan options here. I got the vegetarian burrito with guacamole and they added potatoes like I asked, it was good and filling. I also like that they do not serve food with lard and everything is vegetarian friendly. Portions were pretty good and the service was very accommodating and waitress was sweet. Would I come here again? Quite possibly. The food was good quality, good portions, good service, liked that they had multiple burritos to choose from their menu, I'm a burrito lover. read more

I like this place because of the sports bar feel in the bar area. They have lots of TV's and will put on whatever game you want. Staff is always tremendously friendly. However, on my last visit, the TV's and staff were just not enough. The chips were stale. The salsa was way watered down. And the draft beer was warm! I mentioned this to them and they seemed indifferent. They need to improve on these important details for me to return. read more

First time, probably the last time. This looked like a nice restaurant as we left the nearby Target location, so we went. Nice atmosphere, busy, and was exactly what we were looking for. Waitstaff was nice, helpful, and offered a few recommendations. I ordered fajitas for one, and chose steak. Things were going well, until my fajitas arrived. Unfortunately, it looked like a plate of onion fajitas because the steak strips were cut about as narrow as a #2 pencil. I mean, the onions looked more robust than the steak and I had to refrain from openly telling them how disappointing the meal was when it was delivered to the table. I chose to give it a try, and felt like I was eating the vegetable leftovers from an onion factory. When you have to search for the protein because it's but so thin, that isn't fajitas. If we ever return and I get taco cut steak on a fajita order, I'll shamelessly return it, or ask for taco shells with my taco meat. I really wanted to like this place, and it's disappointing that I had such a bad first impression. read more

This was truly a huge disappointment. My husband and I tried this place for the first time and we will definitely not be going back. To be point blank the food was terrible. First off they forgot a few things of our order. My husband had the carne asada with fried shrimp and the shrimp was wrapped in bacon and just super tough and dry. The meat was extremely dry and tough with 0 flavor. It was supposed to come with a grilled jalapeño and instead they gave him grilled green onions that were so tough he couldn't bite through it and ended up just tossing it. I got the vaqueros fajitas and I've never got fajitas that were swimming in oil. Also it had 0 flavor whatsoever. The shrimp was tasteless dry and tough. I thought the rice and beans would come through but it tasted like microwaved beans and unseasoned packaged rice and that might even be an insult to packaged rice and beans. I asked for extra cheese and was given a bed of lettuce and a sprinkle of cheese. Sadly everything we ordered was tasteless even the salsa which was extremely spicy with 0 flavor. I'm really disappointed I was hoping this would be our new go to spot but it's definitely a place we will be avoiding. read more

I invited my family to Vaqueros for lunch since I'd eaten here before and wanted to share the experience. The restaurant has ample parking and we were seated right away. Inside, the atmosphere is colorful and welcoming. The service, however, was slow. We waited a while before anyone assisted us but our server was okay once he arrived. We ordered one of the large combinations and a molcajete. I've had their molcajete before and liked it but this time it was disappointing. The flavors leaned a bit too sweet for our taste. The portions were good for the price, but overall, the flavors were just okay--nothing memorable. Unfortunately, one incident really soured the visit. When I politely asked for extra salsa verde, a man (not our server but possibly a manager, though he wasn't in uniform) assisted me but came across as rude. I value respect and good service so this interaction was somewhat disappointing. Additionally, pico de gallo comes with an extra charge if you ask for more, even though the initial portion is quite small- a detail our server failed to mention. With all of this in mind, I don't think we'll be returning after this visit. read more

This restaurant is my favorite go to spot in the Springs. The employees, food, and vibes are great.

Your food is so good but you have servers picking up dirty dishes and then brings out food with their gloves on. It is very unhygienic. You need a bus boy/girl to pick up the dirty dishes and someone else with clean hands, no gloves to bring out the food. That is how people get sick with the transfer of dirty plates that are contaminated with other peoples germs. Well...after the horrible experience at the Northgate location I was done with these guys but my family talked me in to driving to the other location off powers. Again, poor service...they absolutely can't make a margarita. We sent the back twice because they were so limey and sour. We tried to coach them on how we wanted it and they said they co up ent make it without their mix. Their mix was awful. We went to Vaqueros on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant wasn't busy and was pretty quiet. We were seated immediately, served chips, and I had to ask if we were assigned a server as no one came to take our orders. We never received drink refills and the waiter didn't check on us. When it was time to pay, I had to go to the hostess stand and ask for the waiter to bring boxes and the check. The food was good, but I couldn't recommend based on being ignored throughout the majority of our dining experience. read more

They have a reserved Superbowl Party in the bar! This restaurant has a welcoming appearance and a decent sized parking lot. We went on Super Bowl Sunday, not realizing that their bar-area has many TVs and is the site of a Super Bowl viewing party. So the parking lot was kind of full, but we were able to park, and be seated immediately. Chips and salsa were brought to the table with menus and we ordered iced tea. The menu is extensive, and we had trouble deciding on what to have. My husband decided to have the fish tacos while I opted for a combo which had two enchiladas and a chili relleno (because I had seen other reviews saying how good the rellenos are). I decided to try a small side of guacamole as well. We also ordered a small or regular jalapeño margarita to share. The ice teas arrived, and we munched on chips (the salsa was OK, but nothing special) and drank iced tea while we waited for our food. We didn't wait long. Margarita, and the two entrées arrived pretty quickly, considering how crowded the restaurant was. The margarita was outstanding! It seemed really large when it came and there was a good deal of ice in it. (I will see if they have a frozen version next time.) it was slightly sweet and slightly spicy and my husband even enjoyed it. The food was nicely plated for our meals. My husband's plate included the three fish tacos, coleslaw, rice, and refried beans, as well as some avocado which he gave to me. My plate included coleslaw, refried beans and Spanish rice as well as two spinach enchiladas, and a crispy chile relleno. My guacamole did not arrive, but when our server, Beto, checked back, I mentioned it, and he brought it immediately (and probably a little more than usual as a side). My spinach enchiladas were not quite what I expected. Perhaps next time I will ask for cheese and spinach enchiladas because these had sautéed spinach, and I think chicken in them but no cheese. But they were tasty! And the chili relleno was amazing! Probably not the best for my calorie count, but absolutely delicious. The guacamole was very good, especially after I added my husband avocados to it lol my husband said his fish tacos were good, but not great. The beans were very tasty as was the coleslaw. We definitely plan to return, at lunch, probably, and when the bar is not crowded and raucous. Overall, the food is good and the service was wonderful. My 1st experience(October): 5 star experience, My family was so hungry + this was the closet Mexican restaurant to us at the time. We figured we'd give a shot + it was totally worth it ! We all loved our food, the staff was friendly with quick service + I couldn't get over how the decor was SO beautiful ! AND Thank you for still having reasonable kids meal prices !! My 2nd experience (December): We called ahead for a reservation but when we got there they said they don't do reservations? We got on the wait list , waited 40 mins, I finally got up and asked why other ppl were being sat before us, and they told us they accidentally scratched us off the list bc there were 2 "Jasons" and thought they were the same party. I was really disappointed bc I hyped them up so much to all my friends. We were eventually sat and had closer to a 3 star experience trying to get the waitress to refill drinks + take our order. read more
