Having been in the golf world for most of my life....outside service, asst pro, playing professional and now in high end hospitality, nothing but high marks to Jesse on his club repair and job well done to the other staff at the front of the store upon pick up. Dropped off 13 clubs to be re gripped and one to be shortened as well. Everything was perfect, including small tweaks on the length of the grips being put on. Although not needed, clubs were ready for pickup the same day. Would easily recommend in comparison to current competitors. Keep up the great work! read more

I've never felt more uncomfortable in a golf store. My husband and I were browsing clubs when we noticed three employees suddenly standing behind us, silently staring like we were doing something wrong. No greeting, no offer to help--just tension. To ease the awkwardness, my husband asked to test a few clearly used, unwrapped clubs. We were told we couldn't because they had a white tag. Strange, because we've tested white tagged clubs at this location and other vans locations in the valley before without issue. We let it go--until the employee made a scene in front of the others, saying they needed to "call other stores" to inform them this wasn't allowed. Why the show? You told us already--what was the point, other than to embarrass us? And then, not even ten minutes later, we watched someone else get handed a brand new, wrapped club to hit without hesitation. So I have to ask: Was it the color of our skin? Did our money not look green enough? That's exactly how it felt--singled out, disrespected, and unwelcome. We left and took our business to 2nd Swing, where we're always treated with respect and professionalism. Huge contrast. Do better read more

Went in with my dad on Sunday as we were both in search for a new driver. We wanted to test out a few and then make our decision. The gentleman that helped us was very uninterested in making a sale. I asked him to hit the new Ping with one of the shafts on the wall. His response," That shaft is for the old Ping driver not the new one." Which it wasn't, I am highly educated on golf equipment and adaptors in general. I knew right then that this guy was extremely lazy and didn't want to do any work to make a sale. My dad and I left and went to PGA Superstore and gladly spent our money there. I just don't understand why people who work in retail have terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and go to the Superstore instead of this place, they are extremely friendly and are happy to help you find what you are looking for. read more

Stopped in here so I could get a couple of clubs regripped. Was in and out quickly and it didn't cost too much. A nice surprise considering it is Scottsdale. Like other golf stores it is packed to the gills with every type of club, clothing, balls, etc., that a golfer should ever have to need. It seems like it is on a weird intersection but it is actually very easy to get in and out of and there is ample parking in back. Very nice people, very helpful. read more

This place is great! They have all the new clubs, hitting bays, and do fitting. I recently bought a new driver, 3wood and hybrid there. Was so happy with the service I went back and bought my new irons there as well. A couple weeks later I brought them back and they tested my lie angle and made an adjustment at no charge. I also ended up needing to exchange my 3wood and hybrid for the lower loft versions due to some gapping in my yardages. They swapped them out no questions asked (90-day exchange guarantee when you buy clubs!). Even though they are pretty far away from my house, they will continue to get my business. read more

Staff was very aloof. If you don't look like a Scottsdale resident, or just got out of your BMW, etc. they have no interest in helping you. But I did eventually find what I was looking for so a 3 star rating. Reminds me of a story. When I was young I went into an Oldsmobile dealership and no one would help me, finally the youngest salesman working that night came over. I was living in a larger city near my parents and my dad was looking for diesel cars to buy for his company. Long story short my dad bought 3 cars from the kid the next week. I am just getting back into golf after a 5+ year hiatus. My short game was good back then and part of that success was my ORIGINAL Ping putter; the gold one 1A. Since I was starting back up, I decided now might be the time to upgrade to a more modern putter. Of course, I was sticking to Ping after my success early in my golf career. I did my homework and thought I needed the Kushin bc it was center ballast. Cody told me that the Anser was a closest match to my 1A. I didn't listen to him and bought the Kushin. Played 4 rounds and hated it. I was going to just go back to my A1. Vans has that 90 day return rule so I figured "let me try the Anser like Cody suggested before I give up". Low and behold, I've played about 6-7 rounds with it (and have been practicing on my home mat) and I LOVE IT !!! My last 2 rounds, I had 14 putts on the front and yesterday only 13 (scored a personal best 37)! Sorry to see you go A1 but I have a new favorite. Thanks Cody ! Smart guy. I'll be upgrading my irons and driver shortly. I will definitely ask for Cody's guidance. read more

I love golf stores. I never buy very much, but I really enjoy browsing and looking at all the golf related merchandise. This store is kind of hard to get to at first, but well worth the effort once you find it.. Although not as big as some of it's competitors, it has a great selection of clubs, golf clothes, and accessories. It has an area you can try out clubs, and also a repair center. The customer service is great, and there is always someone to help with questions. They seem to have a wider selection of used clubs and older models at fairly reasonable prices than other stores in the area. It might just be that it is seasonal, but every time I am there I find used and older clubs that are either on sale, or priced very reasonably. Plus, they have Titleist and Footjoy products. Great place to shop - I always find myself stopping there on my golf store outings and checking out their new additions. read more

About two years ago I bought my teenage son a set of clubs here. They were friendly and helpful in recommending a starter set for him. Shortly after, when on the driving range, the club head came off as he struck the ball and flew 40 yards. They fixed it. After a few months, he got busy and put the clubs away. This summer he decided to take up golf again. First week on the driving range the driver head came off. Two days later on the course, his three wood head - again flew off, this time in the water. Needless to say I was pretty frustrated, but realized that we were WAY past any warranty period. Called the store and got manager Mike on the phone. He told me to send my son back to the store with the broken clubs and he would take care of it. No questions or resistance whatsoever. Less than an hour later, the entire set of clubs, bag and all, were replaced with a new set. Amazing customer service! I know club heads shouldn't just fly off under normal use, and this was something that SHOULD have been made right... but how often do situations like this actually get made right, without any hesitation or resistance or hassle? I have mostly older clubs and promised myself that when I start shooting sub-100 consistently, I would reward myself with new equipment. I am just about there, and will probably spend a couple thousand dollars on all new irons, wedges, driver, woods, etc. over the next few months. They had no idea that was the case. ALL my business will go to Van's in Scottsdale! I know they stand behind their sale and keep customer satisfaction as the highest priority!! Way to go! read more

I have gone to this shop for a while now and have been pretty satisfied with the crew and service. You can't go wrong with the 90 day return/exchange policy and they have a pretty good selection. Also have an indoor putting green and some bays to test out clubs. Good location, nice and close to many good courses. I prefer Vans over Golfsmith anyday. read more

This is a good golf shop based on my only visit last weekend. The selection appears to be what you'd expect from a Van's franchise. I wasn't overly impressed with the store versus any other store. I actually prefer Golfsmith in the same area. The staff was nice, the building was clean, selection was ample, testing areas were available, etc. Pricing appears in line with Golfsmith and other Van's. Give it a try for you golfing needs. read more

Best 'in store' service in the Valley. Not pretentious or pushy but very patient staff. Ordered Mizuno irons through Vans. Told likely a week or less but it is now more than a week. Not a Vans problem but definitely a Mizuno problem. I contacted Mizuno customer service to follow up but no response. Asked Vans to do the same and they were told "today"... still no clubs... not Vans fault but I definitely would not order Mizuno irons again. Very frustrating disappointing- will cancel order tomorrow. read more

Went here to buy 5 Phoenix open tickets. Matt was a very nice and couldn't of been more polite and helpful with everything I talked to him about. I told him I recently got a new driver and he said that k can come by anytime to test it out on their simulator. I actually had it in my car and he gave me advice on some of the flaws in my swing for 30 minutes. I was averaging about 300 yards. Once I took some of his advice I got on up to 335.
