I have never been fitted for golf clubs but this has always been on my short list of things to do…read more Over the years I have always bought my clubs from stores or online. This will be my fifth set and I felt I finally have my game at a point to justify doing the fitting. I did plenty of research prior to going with True Spec and found that they were a recognized fitter along with being right next to my place of work. The entire experience was great, from being greeted at the door all the way to getting my new clubs. I had the pleasure of working with Tanner who quickly had my swing accessed, my existing clubs evaluated and demo club heads picked. He is very knowledgeable (a testament to the training they go through) and friendly. My session was scheduled to take an hour, but he was willing to put in extra time because I couldn't decide on the club heads based on feel and performance. We started with 5 different club heads and got it down to 2 very quickly, but each offered a little difference that made the final push hard. I hit about 100 golf balls during the whole session and can say I am very happy with my setup. I have added 20 yards per club to my distance and am looking forward to hitting them on the course this week. Highly recommended!

That doesn't even happen at the high end public golf courses. Let alone by a manager! Once inside James asked me to go through my bag. Being a weekend workshop tinkerer on my clubs for over 30 years, James listened to my stories and gained perspective on my game all while I was warming up. He then brought me over an iron to begin comparison. After hitting multiple heads and shafts he called me over to show me the numbers. I'm a feel guy, but my wife the engineer was impressed with the data. He then blew me away by telling me my tendencies on the course. He was dead on. Pointed to the numbers that told him and then started making changes. All the while checking in on my "feel" parameters. I liked the look of one clubhead but the feel of the other shaft. When James found out I played often at his college course we shared some course strategies, all along he was gathering info for the fairway woods and then on to the driver. The trackman technology is amazing, but like any good tool, you need a skilled technician to make it work and James made it sing. When my drives were inexplicably fading, he switched screens to show another aspect I had never considered. A few adjustments and we had maximized results. He didn't push for a sale, just provided information. He asked about my putter and I hesitated, as it works well for me. James didn't even go there. The iron shafts we choose were the same ones in a prior set, just with WAY better heads. He also adjusted weight to correct ball flight. James insight into my wedges after knowing my swing and looking at current set up was again RIGHT ON! It's like we had played several rounds together and he knew my tendencies. We set down, he asked me what was on my mind. I said to do his best. My wife, the engineer was impressed with the technology, I was impressed with the level of service and overall experience. Everything but the putter is on the way. The Director of Product Design predicted it should cut my handicap by 4 strokes. I can't wait!!!
