Mona F. Barbara,…read morecurrently at Cabelos Salon, is the most impressive hair stylist I've ever had. Her work is exceptional. Every haircut Barbara has given me has been far better than any other cut I've received. Since my hair is quite fine and not especially abundant, even an average haircut is noticeable--so that's saying a lot. My first experience with highlights was thanks to Barbara, and the results were stunning. One person who saw them said, "If anyone could have the hair color of their dreams, this would be it." Barbara even shared the color formula she used. Some time later, I showed that formula to a stylist in France, and after looking at it she told me, "I can't do that." Barbara seems to notice details about my hair that other stylists miss. I sometimes wonder whether this comes, in part, from her background as a painter and artist. Whatever the reason, she has an exceptional eye and a remarkable understanding of her craft. If you're fortunate enough to get an appointment with Barbara, don't pass up the opportunity. You'll be delighted with the results.

I started coming to this salon randomly because it's right down the street from my house, and I've…read moreseen Abel, Katie, Madeline, and Heather for my hair. Today was the first time I've ever been charged extra for a "curl/flat iron," even though my hair wasn't curled or flat ironed at all. The haircut itself was nice, but the blow-dry was honestly really bad--it looked like I tried to do it myself and failed. I didn't say anything in the salon, but when I got home, my friends pointed out how bad it looked, which made me realize I wasn't overreacting. Overall, I do like this salon, especially for walk-ins. If I had to rank the stylists I've been to: Madeline is definitely #1--she did an amazing job with both the cut and styling, and there were no random extra charges. Abel also did a great job with my highlights. Katie and Heather would be tied. They're both very nice, but Katie cut my hair noticeably uneven--I even had coworkers telling me not to go back to her, which is why I stopped coming to the salon for a while. Heather did a good job with the haircut itself, but the styling was not good. I wouldn't have minded as much since I planned to redo my hair at home anyway, but being charged extra for styling that didn't turn out well is frustrating. I was actually going to ask to skip the blow-dry, but she said she needed to dry it to see how it laid and refine the cut. If it had turned out good, I wouldn't have minded the upcharge--but paying extra for something that looked this bad is really disappointing. And the extra charge wasn't explained it almost seemed like she was trying to sneak it in as she whispered to the receptionist to help her add the charge. If I return l be sure to only schedule my appointments with Madeline (:

I understand things happen but it's his duty to cancel or reschedule with me. You have to respect people's time! I almost rescheduled right then and there but shame on me if I had rescheduled with someone who didn't bother to cancel his appointment with me. I knew it wasn't going to be exactly what I wanted but I was expecting it to look pretty close. After I sat there for 5 hours I was so unhappy with my hair. I figured I would go home and maybe jst get used to it. After a day it looked extremely yellow and orange. I wrote gabby back and asked her if toning would help, she didn't even make an effort to try and fix it for me instead wanted to charge me for a simple toning, that could have made my hair look a little better. After one wash my hair is now completely orange and now I have to pay even more money to try and fix it. I'm embarrassed to even go outside with this ugly hair!!!! $135 down the drain

I'm big on someone respecting my time and I waited an ENTIRE hour from my original appointment. 15 mintues was fine but an hour is insane and still paid the FULL PRICE. I feel like you're better off with someone with a lot more experience. I sent a photo of what I wanted my hair to be and it wasn't even close. She was supposed to dye my hair lighter but mind you, she was late and hour on me anyway. This is someone who'll take advantage.. sadly. Side note: I understand my hair is black and I understood that it wasn't going to be as light as the picture and that was fine. But half of my hair is literally uncolored and doesn't even go together. Below is a photo of what I asked for and sent her lots of TikTok's/links of this person hair. The next photo is what I left with. TWO TONED, half worked on hair. Communication was also 0/10. I asked for a balayage and this is what I got. And she simply stated she didn't know if "I had that time" when she was late a whole hour. 0% accountability for anything. And if she knew i wanted my entire head dyed- why didn't she communicate better she didn't have the time. Obviously I'm very upset. The damage is done and so is my pockets.
