It's strange in a sense, since Dr. Dedinsky prior to opening up his own practice was an understudy to my moms doctor. My mom loved her doctor and somehow knew that if Dr. Dedinsky learned from her doctor, that this doctor would be just as good. After he opened up his own medical office he started taking care of my father. I started seeing him not too long after. Since my first initial visit, the fact that he was taking very good care of my father, I realize that my mom was right about telling me to go see him. In my lifetime I have been fortunate to have had two other really good doctors. Those two are long gone and they were great in a sense that they took the time to listen to you, as does Dr. Dedinsky. I really don't know why I am writing to tell you this story, other than maybe as one gets older, one stops to realize that people come upon your life to have a positive impact on you. This doctor does what he does because of my mom's doctor. Wants to listen to you, and has concern for your well being. I have been fortunate throughout my whole life, and no one knows it more than I do. I hope that when someone walks into your life that you take that moment in time to embrace it. To make a long story short, here is are bullet points of what occurred: 1) Reached out to OM to ensure they accepted the new insurance plan I was considering. I was told by TWO different employees that they accepted it. 2) I used this insurance to see my doctor several times over a health concern. 3) Received a bill stating I would need to pay all out of pocket because OM didn't accept my plan. 4) Reached out to various departments at OM asking about this. After several attempts and many delays in getting someone to respond, I was finally told to speak to the office manager. 5) Office manager informed me they would look into it and see what could be done. Few weeks went by, no response. Reached out various times and finally heard back from a new office manager who told me she would look into the issue. 6) Several more weeks went by and still nothing. Left messages and emails and after about 4 months of this, was told I would need to speak to my insurance since they couldn't help me. 7) Due to the amount of time between having received the initial bill and finally being told I need to figure it out myself, I asked for them to please not send the bill to collections since I am very aware that medical offices will quickly take this route. 8) Was informed that they had already sent me to collections and there was nothing they could do about it and didn't even try to make it right by offering to refund my membership or anything else. 9) Had to pay the full bill through a collection agency which has now affect my credit all due to their staff being incompetent.

This is not a review of those two practices, but rather this review is relative to the 7th Avenue Famiy Practice at the same location. All 3 are within the MMIC health care systems. I have been a patient at this practice for several years, my doc there is Dr Smarik and I have also been treated by Jenna Snyder the Nurse Practitioner. I have had really good care through this office and i feel that Dr. Smarik is an excellent physician and i trust her judgement. And the rest of the providers here are all just as good. This office operates like a well oiled machine right down to the front office staff who greet you and make appointments. The right hand always seems to be coordinating with the left, which is a comfort. Also they are very good about same and next day appointments when you are sick and they send your prescriptions electronically to your pharmacy which saves you even more time and effort. Overall I would highly recommend the 7th Avenue Family Health Practice if you are looking for quality Primary Care. My experience has been very good here.

I was denied insurance through my boyfriend's company because they don't recognize domestic partners the day after I had impaled my thumb on a palm frond. Unsure if I had insurance I decided to go to the county urgent care. They charged a $50 deposit and will be sending the bill within a month. When they gave me a two hour ETA for the wait time I ran over and had some lunch at a local Mexican restaurant. Upon my return, I had about another 30 minutes or so but they really did keep it to that two hour window. Once in the back under doctors care he carefully explored inside my thumb to make sure that there was no foreign debris still in there. During the physical, I was asked questions about my health. I answered the questions. Then I was billed as seeing a specialist for back-pain because I had complained of back-pain during my physical. I never consented to such "treatment" and had been deceived about the entire purpose of the visit. I got a bill and disputed it. Everyone involved has conitinually asserted that I was totally responsible for staining anything about my health during an annual "physical". This sort of deceptive practice seems very common for Dignity Health, as the hospital hires doctors to be "out-of-network" while maintaining an "in-network" relationship with insurance providers. Beware!!!!!!!
